Edward found himself in a sprawling jungle~
The mountains stretched on endlessly, and the woods were deep and mysterious.
Not only was it home to a bunch of high-level wild beasts, but there were also numerous strongholds built by the local sentient creatures. The Goblin Tribe was just one of them.
When it came to natural resources, this jungle was loaded.
But with that came greater danger.
One false move and you could be swarmed by monsters, ending up totally wrecked.
However, for the Angel Squad, it wasn't much of a problem.
After all, it was daytime.
High-level wild monsters generally didn't venture out.
Unless, of course, you accidentally stumbled into their territory.
…
With a whoosh,
A dazzling sword light sliced through the shade, instantly severing a massive wolf's head.
At the same time, golden flames descended, pushing back the other wolves on the battlefield to prevent the sword's wielder from being surrounded.
Then, a cross-shaped sword light fell from the sky.
Instantly, another wolf was slain.
Under the Angel Squad's flawless teamwork, the number of wolves on the battlefield dwindled until they were completely wiped out.
During this process, the more timid wolves got scared and tried to flee the scene.
But, ground runners, where can they outrun flyers?
They didn't get far before they were caught and quickly fell under the Angel's sword light.
"Battle's over, clean up the field."
A series of stunning figures converged from nearby.
It was Virginia and the others.
They were surrounded by a halo of holy light, untouched by a single drop of wolf blood, pure and beautiful.
Virginia and her team were already very skilled at cleaning up the battlefield, quickly collecting the gold coins dropped by the wolves.
Then, they called over a group of Goblins hiding in the nearby jungle.
They ordered the Goblins to transport the wolf corpses back to their territory.
"We've collected forty-five gold coins."
"Just five more gold coins, and the Lord can summon another winged Angel."
Virginia said excitedly.
The other Angels, hearing this, were also full of energy.
Their obsession with gold coins even surpassed their desire to level up and increase their strength.
Improving levels and strength wasn't something that could be achieved in a moment, but slaying monsters for gold coins could bring more Angels into this world.
Whether the Angels could revive in this world depended on their efforts.
Just then,
A Goblin ran over in a panic, saying, "Holy emissaries, I've spotted a group of two-headed giants in the dense forest ahead, they're hunting a giant python."
"Two-headed giants?"
Virginia raised an eyebrow and asked, "How many?"
The Goblin warrior replied, "About a dozen, led by a two-headed giant chief. I can't tell his exact level, but it's definitely no higher than nine."
Above level nine was king level.
King-level two-headed giants weren't common.
Even if there were any, they'd be the big shots of large tribes or chiefs of smaller tribes, usually not stooping to hunt wild monsters themselves – it was beneath them.
"If it's no higher than level nine, we might give it a shot."
"The higher the monster's level, the more gold coins it drops."
"It's worth the risk."
After a brief discussion, the Angels agreed.
They immediately had the Goblin warrior lead the way.
As for the other Goblins, they continued to transport the wolf corpses.
The Goblins' combat ability was too weak; involving them in battle would only hold them back, better they stick to logistics.
…
Before long, under the guidance of the Goblin warrior, the Angel Squad arrived near the dense forest where the two-headed giants were hunting.
The Goblin warrior's voice trembled as he spoke, "Holy emissaries, those two-headed giants are inside."
Virginia, hearing the roars emanating from the forest, nodded slightly and instructed the Goblin warrior, "Stay here, do not get any closer."
"Understood, holy emissary," the Goblin warrior replied, visibly relieved. His strength was meager, and he knew he couldn't assist the holy emissaries. Rather than causing a mess, it was better to obediently wait outside and follow orders.
Virginia and the others then flapped their Angel Wings, soaring into the sky towards the battlefield within the forest. Flying was one of the Angels' advantages, especially against foes who lacked the ability to fly. This advantage often led to astonishing outcomes, allowing them to triumph against stronger enemies.
The Angels' flight speed was incredibly fast. In less than a minute, Virginia and her team were hovering above the battlefield. Looking down, they saw a group of humanoid monsters, each with two heads of varying sizes, brutally attacking a giant, colorful python.
The python was clearly at a disadvantage. Its body was covered in wounds, and its scales littered the ground. It roared and hissed in defiance, rolling, twisting, and lashing its tail, but it couldn't escape the encirclement of the two-headed giants. It was on the verge of death.
High above, seven beautiful and pure figures stood proudly, their gaze almost condescending as they watched the battlefield below.
The petite and delicately featured Angel Janet spoke, "Thirteen two-headed giants, average level six, with the leading two-headed giant chief at level eight."
"The dying python is a level seven monster."
"We can take this fight."
Virginia nodded slightly and added, "The leather armor and Warehouse blueprint we obtained yesterday came from a level seven monster."
"The Lord was very pleased when he received the spoils."
Hearing this, the eyes of the other Angels sparkled, their desire to fight intensifying.
Without much hesitation, the seven winged Angels dove from different directions towards the battlefield below.
Just as the python was about to be slain by the two-headed giants, the Angels' attack arrived.
Virginia took the lead, unleashing the Angel combat technique, Holy Cross Sword. The dazzling cross-shaped sword light traveled dozens of feet in an instant, decapitating the level seven python. Already close to death and too weak to resist or evade, the python was instantly killed by Virginia's lightning-fast strike.
This sudden attack stunned the two-headed giants on the battlefield, leaving them dazed for a long moment. Having two heads did not make them smarter; instead, it often led to confusion, as was the case now.
It wasn't until the screams of their comrades filled the air that the other two-headed giants snapped back to reality.
By then, six of their companions had already been slain by the enemy.
"Damn it," growled the two-headed giant chief. "Where did these winged beings come from, daring to oppose our two-headed giant Tribe?"
Enraged, he swung his mace wildly as he charged at Angel Carolyn.
Carolyn, a level five warrior.
She chose not to go head-to-head with the two-headed giant leader, quickly flapping her Angel Wings to retreat. After gaining some distance, she soared into the air and swung her Angel Sword, unleashing waves of golden flames.
The two-headed giant leader, charging too fiercely, was engulfed by the golden flames, howling in agony. However, he wasn't burned to death. He even managed to release the magical power within him in time, forming a shield that blocked the power of the golden flames.
"Damn winged freak, I'm gonna kill you."
"Kill her. Just do it."
Both heads of the two-headed giant leader screamed in unison.
Wielding a nearly 6-foot-6-inch long spiked club, he swung it wildly, the magic pouring out forming huge wind blades that swept towards Angel Carolyn in midair.
"Holy Light Slash."
"Holy Cross Sword."
Nearby, several Angels were unleashing their battle skills, shattering the wind blades one after another. Although some slipped through, they posed no threat to Angel Carolyn. She seized the opportunity to fly higher and from another direction, she dove back into the battlefield to attack other two-headed giants.
The two-headed giant leader was about to pursue her but was intercepted halfway by Angel Ruth, who dragged him into combat.
As the fight began, the two-headed giant leader entered a berserk state, attempting to kill Ruth quickly. However, Ruth didn't confront him head-on either. As soon as she saw the two-headed giant leader using his powerful moves, she flapped her Angel Wings and flew high into the air.
Once the two-headed giant leader ran out of steam, other Angels nearby swooped in close. This was a classic tactic of taking turns to wear down the enemy and kite them around, while also creating opportunities for other Angels.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before the two-headed giant leader was the only one left on the battlefield. The other two-headed giants had been cleared by Virginia and others.
Seeing seven Angels closing in...
The two-headed giant leader finally felt fear. He tried to run, but found all his escape routes blocked by the Angels.
