Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Two-winged Angel

Edward silently recited to himself and opened his personal information panel.

Instantly, a holographic panel appeared in his view.

[Edward]

[Profession: Lord]

[Level: Zero-level Mortal]

[Prestige: 0]

[Territory: low-level village (unnamed)]

[Exclusive Troop Type: Angel (Unique)]

[Gold Coins: 100 (Gift for new Lords)]

...

"Thank goodness, the newbie perk for Lords is a hundred gold coins, otherwise I wouldn't even be able to recruit troops."

Combat profession newbies get a weapon typical of their profession.

Like a Knight's greatsword, an Elementalist's magic wand, or a Hunter's bow and arrow.

These weapon perks provide combat professionals with the immediate means to slay monsters.

But for Lords, the newbie perk is a hundred gold coins.

Given that Lords aren't typically fighters but focus on recruiting troops and developing territories, the gift of a hundred gold coins from Worlds' Floating Isles makes perfect sense.

"A hundred gold coins..."

"With that, I could recruit twenty low-tier troops."

"But my Angel troop type is top-tier, and even the weakest Two-winged Angel costs fifty gold coins. A hundred gold coins would only get me two."

Edward couldn't help but feel a bit envious of those Lords with low-tier troops.

It's just cheaper.

With the same resources, a Lord with low-tier troops could build an army ten times the size of a top-tier Lord, enabling them to establish a force much more quickly.

As for how effective that force would be in battle, that's another story.

...

Without hesitation, Edward chose to recruit.

He spent all one hundred gold coins.

No second thoughts.

Almost simultaneously, a black hole appeared in the center of the Lord's Hall.

Moments later, two figures radiating white light flew out from the black hole.

Both were female Angels.

With golden blonde hair, statuesque figures, and flawlessly beautiful faces, they were clad in silver-white armor and wielded swords of the same make.

They possessed an aura of nobility and sanctity, giving off an untouchable vibe.

And as Edward expected, behind them fluttered two snow-white wings.

A pair of Angel Wings, the hallmark of the Two-winged Angels.

"Greetings, my Lord."

Upon emerging from the black hole, the two beautiful Angels bowed to Edward, their expressions filled with respect.

As the Lord who had summoned them, Edward naturally received their loyalty.

This was unquestionable.

"No need for formalities."

Edward took a deep breath.

His gaze swept over the delicate faces of the two Angels and he opened their information panels to check.

[Two-winged Angel]

[Initial Level: 5]

[Growth Potential: Demigod]

[Combat Skills: Holy Cross Sword, Holy Light Slash, Angelic Flame]

[Note: Belonging to the orthodox faction, the Two-winged Angels are the most common and lowest-ranked warriors of the Angel clan. They possess the firmest faith and loyalty to their Lord.]

The information for both Angels was identical.

Whether it was their level, growth potential, or combat skills, there was no difference.

This was probably the standard template for a Two-winged Angel.

If he had recruited Four-winged Angels or Six-winged Angels, or even Angels with more wings, their template information would certainly be different.

"Initial Level 5."

"Growth Potential: Demigod."

"Truly top-tier units, incredibly strong."

Edward felt genuinely astonished.

On Earth's professional forums, some Lords had shared information about troop types.

The cheapest low-tier troops start at level 1, with a growth potential not exceeding level 9.

Mid-tier troops start at level 2, with a growth potential not exceeding King level.

High-tier troops start at level 3, with a growth potential not exceeding the Extraordinary level.

As for ttop-tier units, there was no confirmed information.

Among the first batch of summoned humans, no Lord had randomly acquired a top-tier units, so no data had been published.

One could only speculate...

The initial level for top-tier units should be 4, with a growth potential not exceeding the Sacred Realm.

And the strength levels in the Worlds' Floating Isles, from low to high, are ranked from levels 1 to 9, King level, Extraordinary, Sacred Realm, Demigod, and the eternal True God.

Just looking at the information panel, it was clear that Edward's Angels were even stronger than the top-tier units, a level above.

And these were just Two-winged Angels.

What about Four-winged Angels, Six-winged Angels... or even the higher-ranked Twelve-winged Angels? What would their initial levels and growth potentials be?

"This must be the strength of a unique troop type."

Apart from this, Edward could find no other reasonable explanation.

After all, among the three 'top-tier' units types previously randomly assigned, only the Angel was marked as 'unique.' Neither the Dragon Knight nor the Titan troop types had this distinction.

This indirectly indicated that a unique exclusive troop type was stronger.

Even surpassing the top-tier units.

Thinking this, Edward felt a surge of excitement.

Not only had he become a Lord, but he had also randomly acquired a troop type even more powerful than the top-tier ones. It was time for him to shine.

Edward turned his gaze to the two enchanting Angels and asked, "What are your names?"

In unison, the two-winged Angels responded, "Please, Lord, bestow names upon us."

No names, huh?

Edward paused for a moment. Naming them One and Two seemed a bit tacky, didn't it?

After a brief thought, he declared, "From now on, your names will be Virginia and Janet."

"Praise be to the Lord," Virginia and Janet exclaimed, visibly moved as they bowed deeply.

It seemed that receiving names from Edward was a great honor for them.

Edward didn't dwell on it much and immediately gave his orders, "Our domain is just starting, and we need a lot of resources. You two head out together and hunt the monsters in the wilderness."

"It is an honor to serve you, Lord," Virginia and Janet replied without hesitation.

The two Angels then flapped their snowy white wings and flew out of the Lord's Hall, swiftly leaving the domain. Their speed was so fast they appeared as mere streaks of white light.

Edward's caution of "Be safe" was swallowed back as they disappeared.

"Level 5, top-tier units with three combat skills and the ability to fly—shouldn't be a problem. As for me, a mere level zero mortal, I'd just be in the way..."

Edward was well aware of his limitations and chose not to hold them back.

Alone in the Lord's Hall, he waited for news.

To his surprise, it wasn't long before a series of kill notifications started coming in from the Worlds' Floating Isles.
