Chapter 2 - A Future Diary

Klaus wakes up in distress, his heart pounding and sweat clinging to his skin. The vivid memory of his assassination by the tyrants plays on repeat in his mind. Gasping, he scrambles to his feet, scanning his surroundings with wild, darting eyes.

"What is going on?" he mutters, his voice trembling with confusion and fear.

As the initial shock begins to subside, Klaus notices something strange. His body feels different—healthier, stronger, and more vibrant than he can ever remember. Tentatively, he stretches his limbs, testing the newfound vitality coursing through him. There is no sign of the injuries he had sustained, no pain or weakness. In fact, he feels like a young man in his prime, his muscles taut and his senses heightened.

"How is this possible?" he whispers to himself, looking down at his hands, which are now steady and firm, devoid of the wrinkles and scars that once marked them.

He takes a deep breath, filling his lungs with air, and is startled by the ease and depth of his breathing. His heart, which had been racing moments ago, now beats steadily and powerfully. Klaus begins to realize that not only is he alive, but he is also in peak physical condition—something he had not experienced in years.

"Did I... come back to life?" he wonders aloud, struggling to comprehend the extraordinary situation.

Klaus takes a tentative step out of his room, still grappling with the astounding changes in his body. Suddenly, he feels strong arms wrap around him from behind in a tight embrace. Startled, he whirls around to face the person and is met with the familiar face of Hakon, his old friend.

"Hakon?" Klaus breathes, his voice barely a whisper. Tears begin to form in his eyes as he looks at the man who had just died Infront of him

Hakon, younger and in better shape than Klaus had ever seen him, grins broadly. "What's with that gloomy look, old friend?" he asks, his tone light and teasing.

Klaus's mind races. How was Hakon here, alive and well? He reaches out to touch Hakon's face, almost afraid that he is imagining things. But Hakon is real, solid, and warm under his fingertips. A wave of emotions crashes over Klaus—joy, confusion, relief, and a deep, aching sense of wonder.

"Hakon, you're... you're alive," Klaus stammers, his voice choked with emotion.

"Of course, I'm alive! Are you alright, Klaus? You look like you've seen a ghost," Hakon replies, his expression turning to one of concern.

Klaus pulls Hakon into another embrace, overwhelmed by the sheer impossibility of the situation. As he holds his friend, a realization dawns on him—a realization so profound that it almost knocks the breath out of him. He had been sent back to the past. The healthy state of his body, the youthful appearance of Hakon—it all pointed to one conclusion.

Pulling back slightly, Klaus looks into Hakon's eyes, searching for answers. "Hakon, what year is it?"

Hakon raises an eyebrow, confused by the question. "It's the year 1000. Why do you ask?"

Klaus's mind reels. 1000. It was years before the tyrants rose to power, before the chaos and bloodshed that had torn their world apart. He had been given a second chance, an opportunity to change the course of history.

Klaus takes a deep breath, his resolve hardening. "No reason," he says, managing a smile. "It's just good to see you, my friend."

Klaus goes to his room and pulls out a diary, he takes a pen and starts recounting all the major battles that are going to take place in the future

Klaus bites his lips and blood bursts out

He remembers his mistakes in the past and that troubles him deeply, after losing so many comrades for his self satisfaction and greed for power.

"I will never forget the sacrifices that was made to build my empire, each and one of the fallen warriors will be remembered"

He finally finishes to write down all the battles only the last one remaining

"Son of a bastard Amon will pay"

"There is no way Amon's unit was this strong, the nations had an alliance to come and destroy me, since I was a global power, they only used Amon to scapegoat their hatred towards my empire, my people and my treasures"

"They swayed public opinion in order to not have any backlash and funded Amon, supplying him and his men with weapons, money and training in order to defeat the long established kingdom"

Klaus would figure out that the true enemy wasn't Amon but the world's nations who were afraid of his empire's might and the riches that contained.
