Chapter 140 Confirmation Daniel had doubted the nobles' words, but hearing Aleshia offhandedly confirm their truth, he quietly muttered, "So there their words rang true." Letting his muttering sink in, he mustered himself to speak. "If you can assure me that it won't alert the nobles and cause them to make things worse for us, then I'll allow it," he said, sighing. Aleshia gave him a thumbs-up and then walked back to the sick people. Daniel, recognizing the situation, quietly left the room to allow her to work. He knew he would only be a distraction and trusted that she would not do anything to worsen the situation for his suffering siblings. Once Aleshia arrived at the bedside, she reestablished her connection. "It's nice of him to leave us to our own devices, isn't it?" she snickered. "Alright, now let us get to it." After saying that, she relaxed her control over the body, allowing it to slump to the floor. But just before it could fall face-first, Lucia used her magic to prop it up. Aleshia mentally withdrew into herself, her mind ebbing and flowing like waves on a beach slowly receding. She immersed herself in Kailey's soul space, and after several minutes of meditative breathing, she finally arrived at her own soul space. She stood in a familiar yet nearly forgotten museum of memories, its exterior shaped like an egg and displaying a membrane-like sheen. Aleshia looked around, her eyes lingering on scenes playing in the display cases. "This feels a bit familiar, but I shouldn't linger here. I need to figure out how to make those panels appear again." She waved her hands wildly, trying to recall how she had first done it, but nothing happened. Next, she attempted to create symbols with her hands, but despite her efforts and numerous hand signs, she was still unsuccessful. "I know it's been a while, but doing this isn't working," she muttered. Faced with a dead end in her thoughts, Aleshia attempted to remember where she had been when she first saw the panels. "That's right, I didn't conjure them," she gasped. They were already there when I arrived in that place." Aleshia wanted to find a way back to the panels, so she looked around her soul space for anything to help her escape. After a moment, she noticed a door leading out of the museum. She lightly tapped her forehead with her hand and exclaimed, "Of course, there's a door here!"
