Chapter 126 Crossing The Gates Aleshia was lost in thought but quickly ran after the adventurer after being gently nudged by Lucia. The guard who had bothered the adventurer then stopped her. "Hey, where do you think you're going?" he asked.Aleshia hesitated before answering and tried to sound confident, quickly explaining to the guard, "Uh, I'm with the adv-guy you just spoke with. I'm part of his group." The guard examined Aleshia closely as if he were using some ability to scan her. Lucia sensed this scrutiny, and in an instant, she created an invisible barrier made of nature. Just as she finished, the guard directed his scanning above Aleshia toward her witch hat. "That is odd. I'm not getting anything from the scan," the guard muttered in confusion. When Aleshia heard those words, she knew something was wrong and immediately began to panic. But before she could do anything drastic, the guard let her go, adding, "If you're bugging out my skills, then it must be true what you say." Aleshia felt uneasy about the guard's unusual behavior but sighed with relief, realizing she could continue in line. She quickly caught up to the adventurer waiting ahead, bypassing others in line. Some shouted angrily, but when they saw who she was approaching, they bit back their complaints. Oddly enough, the adventurer never turned around or acknowledged her presence, as if he were oblivious to the commotion behind him. When the adventurer finally reached the gate entrance, he showed his adventurer's permit to the guard stationed at the gate and was immediately allowed in without any further incidents. Aleshia, who was sneakily following him, did not face any trouble from the guard at the gate and was also allowed entry. Aleshia thought she heard some mocking remark from the guardsman but chose to ignore them and followed her target. Crossing through the gates, Aleshia became surrounded by a bustling atmosphere filled with people walking in the streets and vendors selling their goods. Lucia was the most excited of all and marveled at everything. Aleshia looked at the many stone and brick buildings. Oddly enough, all the windows appeared new, as if they had recently had damage done to them. Before Aleshia could dive too deeply into her thoughts, Lucia's cheerful attitude eased her worries. "Oh wow! Look at all those vendors, Aleshia!" Not wanting to dampen Lucia's excitement, Aleshia set her concerns aside and smiled. "These street vendors seem cleaner and more established than the ones I used to buy from. I wonder if they know of any tourist spots around here." "They just might!" Lucia exclaimed. "Let's ask the locals if there are any tourist spots to check out!"
