Chapter 108 - Going Berserk

Chapter 108 Going Berserk Even though the boomerang missed him, Dahdin backed away from the weapon. He countered by throwing one of his weapons, composed entirely of his mana, at the boomerang. To his delight, it destroyed the boomerang, including the parasite attached to it. Dahdin smirked, hoping the parasite would be foolish enough to attempt the same thing again. Another boomerang emerged from the parasite's mist, and once again, it threw it at Dahdin. Unlike the previous throw, which was weak and poorly aimed, the parasite's aim and power had significantly improved this time. Dahdin needed to dodge; if he didn't, the boomerang would strike him. He quickly grabbed one of his spare weapons and threw it at the incoming boomerang. As he dashed away, he ensured that he destroyed the parasite inside it. Turning his attention back to the parasite's main body, he noticed it had already retrieved another boomerang. Before he could react, the boomerang was already in the air, cutting through it with a swooshing sound, a small indicator of the parasite's significant improvement. Dahdin dodged just in time and countered by throwing two weapons, one at the boomerang and the other at the parasite. With the brief moment he had gained, he began to organize the new information in his mind. 'The parasite must have a very high learning capability in exchange for its stupidity. In that case, I must defeat it before it learns something more lethal.' Dahdin felt he no longer had the chance to experiment. He threw most of his weapons at the parasite, excluding the material ones, and they hit their target. Spears and swords were sticking out of its body; however, something Dahdin didn't account for was the parasite's ability to consume. Dahdin felt dread wash over him as the parasite slowly absorbed his weapons. At that moment, Dahdin's instincts flared. Dahdin resorted to letting his wolf side take over, going berserk with quick and agile movements. Dahdin viciously approached the parasite, slashing, clawing, and biting it. At first, he could feel the parasite in his maw, but when it turned into incorporeal mist, he felt danger encroaching in his body. His beastial instincts surged his mana throughout his body to extinguish the intruding force. The mana flowed like lava, vaporizing a chunk of the parasite's mist. The parasite hastily retreated from Dahdin, but as it tried to flee, fluctuating its amorphous form, Dahdin clung to it with his mana, which raged like lava, clinging onto it like a serpent.
