Awakening on the Green Plains
Oly's eyes fluttered open to a sky filled with vibrant, swirling colors. The grass beneath him felt unusually soft and springy. He sat up, his heart racing as he took in the unfamiliar landscape. Beside him, Anya was still unconscious but breathing steadily.
"Anya," he whispered, gently shaking her. "Wake up."
Anya stirred, her eyes fluttering open. "Oly, where are we? What happened?"
"I don't know," I replied, helping her to her feet. "But we need to stay alert. Let's see what we can find out."
We began to explore our surroundings, the air feeling unusually fresh and invigorating. The landscape was a mix of the familiar and the fantastical, with lush green plains stretching out before us and strange, towering plants in the distance.
The System Interface
As we walked, a shimmering screen materialized in front of us, startling Anya. I reached out, instinctively touching it. The screen displayed a map with a small highlighted area.
"Welcome to the Dominion of Ascendancy" the voice from before echoed again, emotionless and authoritative. "This is your territory. You will begin with 100 square meters. Use your resources wisely and remember: strength and power are key."
I studied the map intently. It showed our immediate surroundings, with markers indicating potential resources and areas of interest. The screen also provided detailed information about the tasks we needed to accomplish to expand and develop our territory.
"To assist you in your quest, each of you will be granted a unique talent," the voice continued. "These talents vary in power and utility but can be used to enhance your capabilities. Talents are ranked from Ordinary to Mythical, and the power systems in this Dominion go from Rank 1 to Rank 6. You will also have access to a System interface, which will provide you with information, resources, and communication channels."
My screen flashed, revealing my talent: "Overlord's Might (Mythical)." This talent increased all my parameters by 50% and provided a daily sign-in bonus. Additionally, it granted me the extraordinary ability to randomly multiply any drop or reward I received by a factor of 100 for common items, 50 for uncommon, 10 for rare, 5 for epic, 2 for legendary, and a 1% chance to gain something additional. I felt a surge of power coursing through me, a stark contrast to my usual reliance on strategy and intelligence.
"Let's take a closer look at our character panels," I suggested, opening my own panel.

"I don't know," I admitted. "But it's probably better not to question our luck. At least we have each other."
As we continued to monitor the chat, it became clear that the chat channel would be an essential tool for gathering information and staying connected. Although the initial messages were filled with panic and confusion, it was comforting to know that we were not entirely alone in this strange new world.
The First Quest Announcement
A notification appeared on the System interface. It was an announcement from the System.
"Attention, participants. The Territory Development Quest is about to begin. Prepare to expand and secure your territory. Rewards will be granted based on your performance."
I felt a surge of determination. "This is it, Anya. We need to be ready."
Anya nodded, her eyes filled with resolve. "Let's do this together, Oly."
With the System's guidance and our combined strengths, we prepared to face the challenges of the Dominion of Ascendancy.
