There is a legend about an emperor who ruled for 300 years despite being mortal. He sought power, strength, wealth, and subjects who would bow down to him. He bestowed the title of emperor upon himself, and those who refused to submit faced punishments worse than death. Even to his own blood he showed no mercy.
Despite the emperor's cruel nature, his reign was solidified and went largely unquestioned when he bestowed land upon his people to grow their crops and build their homes. Additionally, he mandated his soldiers defend every boundary of the empire.
And all of this was made possible because of his loyal knight and sword, Astrid the Blasphemer.
