"Disaster?" Ebert's heart tightened. He felt that what Adi was going to say next must be extraordinary.
"Yes, a terrible disaster." Adi's voice trembled, as if he had returned to that terrifying night. "It was a full moon night. As usual, I held a sacrificial ceremony in the temple, praying for the gods to bless the tribe with peace..."
Adi's thoughts drifted back to that night.
As night fell, the stars were dotted, and the silver moonlight sprinkled all over the earth, covering the forest with a mysterious veil. In the distance, bursts of insects chirped, and the rustling sound of the leaves in the breeze, like a peaceful nocturne.
In the temple in the center of the tribe, the bonfire was burning, reflecting the ancient and mysterious totems around. Those totems were the patron saints of the tribe passed down from generation to generation, symbolizing courage, wisdom and strength.
The first ray of sunlight in the morning shone through the towering windows of the temple and fell on Adi. He was wearing a white priest robe, a feather crown woven with rare bird feathers, holding a staff symbolizing divine power, and standing solemnly in front of the altar.
On the altar were offerings to the gods: rich fruits, mellow wine, and burning incense and candles. The air was filled with a faint scent of sandalwood, creating a solemn and sacred atmosphere.
Adi took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and began to chant an ancient and mysterious spell. The sound of the spell was low and melodious, echoing in the empty temple, as if he was having a silent conversation with the gods.
Every syllable of the spell contained profound meaning, representing awe and prayer to the gods. Adi recited with full concentration, hoping that his piety could move the gods and bring blessings to his people.
As the spell progressed, the flames on the altar seemed to become more vigorous, illuminating Adi's focused face. He seemed to be in a sacred dimension, getting closer and closer to the gods.
Finally, the spell ended. Adi slowly opened his eyes with a pious and satisfied expression on his face. He knew that he had done his best to fulfill his duties, and the rest was left to the gods to judge.
He put down his staff, turned to face the tribesmen below, and said loudly: "May the gods bless us and give us peace and a good harvest!"
The tribesmen cheered in unison, and their faces were also filled with hope and confidence. They believed that as long as Adi continued to pray devoutly, the gods would definitely protect their tribesmen, keep them away from disasters and live a happy life.
Adi watched the tribesmen silently, with a sense of responsibility in his heart. He knew that he was not only a bridge between the gods and the tribesmen, but also the spiritual leader of the tribesmen. He must use his faith and strength to lead the tribesmen to overcome difficulties and move towards a better future.
Men, women, young and old in the tribe gathered around the temple, clasping their hands together and praying devoutly, praying that the gods would bless them with good weather and good harvests in the coming year, and dispel diseases and disasters. Children were playing in the crowd, their laughter, like the twinkling stars in the night sky, added a touch of joy to this quiet night.
At this moment, something strange happened!
The originally peaceful night sky suddenly turned blood red, as if stained with blood, exuding an ominous atmosphere. The originally bright moonlight was swallowed by this blood color, and the whole world seemed to have turned into a Shura hell.
Then, the earth began to shake violently, houses collapsed, trees fell, and panicked people fled everywhere, crying and screaming, breaking the tranquility of the night and foreshadowing the coming of a catastrophe.
"What's going on? What happened?"
"Is it an earthquake? Or... or is the god angry?"
People were terrified. They didn't know what happened, nor did they know how to deal with this sudden disaster. They could only hug their loved ones tightly and pray for the protection of the gods.
Adi also felt that something was wrong. He stopped chanting and looked up at the sky, feeling uneasy.
"What is that?"
Adi exclaimed, and saw a huge black hole suddenly appear in the blood-red sky. The black hole emitted a heart-pounding energy fluctuation, as if it was going to swallow up the whole world. The black hole grew bigger and closer, and finally occupied the entire sky, like a huge mouth of the abyss, swallowing everything up.
