By the roadside.
Leh Ying opened the car door and, still subconsciously, looked back at the familiar Dongshan Villa Area. With the onset of winter, the landscape trees were bare and patrol cars were often seen.
The driver glanced at the bag in her arms and urged her, "It's so dark. Are you running away from home? Hurry up and get in the car. The checks here are strict; we can't stay long."
Leh Ying came back to her senses in a daze and sat in the car.
The driver, not understanding her emotions, made small talk with her, "Living in Dongshan Villa, how wealthy."
"Not really," she shook her head.
The driver looked in the rearview mirror, "From Dongshan Villa to Xiagong Mansion, the places you live in are no ordinary places."
She gave a wan smile as she watched the scenery recede outside the window.
The driver prattled on, "This is my first time here, the environment is strangely quiet; it's a good place indeed. With such tight security, even thieves wouldn't dare to come close."
