When Wu Ling returned to the alehouse, he was surprised to find that none of his companions were still there. Not only that, the Alehouse had fewer patrons than he would have expected for this time of day.
"Excuse me, Big Brother," Wu Ling purred to one of the men pouring drinks. "I'm looking for my companions, they were supposed to wait for me here. Two sisters and four brothers, they would have come in just a few hours ago," Wu Ling said, putting on a confused pout.
Thankfully, the white and red fox mask that Madame Cixiu provided him only covered the upper half of his face. While he might not have his full expressive range to flirt with the poor waiter, the combination of pursed lips and vulnerable body language was more than enough to overwhelm the other man's judgment.
"Fairy Sister," the waiter stammered. "Your friends, one of them was challenged to a fight in the Pit. They, they all left."
