Chapter 68 - 68. Wild Slaughter.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Splinters and slime, flesh and blood flew everywhere. Although the Drowner King was beaten to a pulp, it still occasionally roared and cast a protective shield, indicating that these injuries were merely superficial.

After using the Monster Hunt skill, Allen felt the disparity between the two monsters even more clearly. His spirit intruded into the auras of both creatures. Despite the Drowner King constantly getting beaten, the rate at which the chaotic magic around it diminished was slow.

"Indeed, my judgment was correct. This Drowner King is waiting for an opportunity."

Therefore, to drive the tiger to swallow the wolf, Allen realized he shouldn't help the Drowner King escape the Cyclops's onslaught but instead assist the Cyclops in further weakening the Drowner King.

Having made up his mind, Allen exited the Monster Hunt state and drank two potions of Drowner Heart Extract to restore his stamina. After his stamina exceeded 100, he realized that one potion only restored up to 100 stamina. Given his current 24 points of physique, he could recover 24 stamina per minute, fully replenishing in ten minutes. Since he had plenty of Drowner Heart Extract and it no longer boosted his attributes, he decided to use it as a stamina recovery potion.

"Gur-la... Gur-la-la... Gur-gur-la..."

Submerged in the water, mysterious incantations flowed from Allen's mouth. Perhaps due to the water element magic being abundant around him, the formation of the Ice Spear spell took only half the time, and the final ice spear doubled in diameter.

When the chanting stopped, Allen resurfaced. Supporting himself against the cliff wall with his left hand, his right arm's elbow rested on his left wrist, his right palm steadily aimed at the Drowner King taking the blows. Next, he activated Monster Hunt.

This was a new technique he had just thought of. Since Monster Hunt involved mentally intruding into the monster's force field and the Ice Spear spell required mental assistance for aiming, why not combine the two?

Indeed, upon using the Monster Hunt skill, Allen had an epiphany.

This shot would hit!

"Crack!"

Though the tree in the Cyclops's hand was thick, it was still just ordinary wood. After such high-intensity and frequent battering, its structure became increasingly loose, finally snapping with a forceful strike. At that moment, the Drowner King quickly stood up, pushing the Cyclops back. Luckily, this strike shattered the Drowner King's defensive light shield.

"Now!"

In the Monster Hunt state, Allen, unaffected by any emotions, seized the opportunity without hesitation.

"Whoosh!"

The blue ice spear sliced through the air, hitting the Drowner King's unprotected left eye almost instantly.

"Gu-ahhh!"

The Drowner King's chant for the water shield spell turned into a scream halfway, as it clutched its left eye, blood streaming through its fingers.

"Gu!!!"

Enraged by the ambush, it forgot to raise its shield, roaring as it turned to locate the attacker. Unfortunately, Allen had already hidden behind the cliff wall, diving underwater. The Drowner King's perception wasn't high. Even with some intelligence, it could only roughly determine the direction of the attack but couldn't find Allen's hiding spot. Moreover, it didn't have the energy to focus on the assailant now.

The Cyclops's fist was coming!

"Roar!"

The broken weapon and the sudden resistance from its opponent made the Cyclops furious. After being pushed away, it swung the broken tree at the Drowner King's head. Then, stepping forward, it delivered a powerful right punch to the Drowner King's left face, causing the bizarre frog-like skin to cave in, dislocating its jaw, and shattering its already injured left eye. The force caused the translucent gel from the eye to splatter out due to the sudden impact.

"Gu...la!"

In rage, the Drowner King finally remembered there was another enemy, instantly releasing a blue light shield. But it was too late!

"Roar!"

The Cyclops's punch awakened its ferocity, boosting its violent momentum. Before the Drowner King could rise, the Cyclops leaped, and in the Drowner King's horrified right eye, it stomped on its waist.

"Crack!"

"Gu-la!!!"

A tragic scream accompanied by the sound of breaking vertebrae signaled that the Drowner King's right eye no longer held any rational emotion. With blood-red eyes, it pounced on the Cyclops, biting off a chunk of muscle from its thigh.

"Roar!"

The Cyclops howled in pain but couldn't shake off the Drowner King's deadly grip.

"Whoa~"

Witnessing this primal and bloody scene, Allen couldn't help but feel a chill. He never imagined that his little "ice spear" could cause such a chain reaction. Initially, his best hope was that blinding the Drowner King in one eye would slightly reduce its advantage. But he never expected the Cyclops's primal instinct to seize the opportunity and break the Drowner King's spine. The Drowner King's limp legs indicated it would never stand again. Of course, this wasn't necessarily good for the Cyclops.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The battle between the two giant monsters entered a frenzied state, both creatures now bloodthirsty and savage. Ripping, tearing, biting—no holds barred. The Drowner King no longer used its shield; everything devolved into raw, primal combat. The two beasts seemed to merge into one, never separating for a moment. If not the Drowner King biting off a piece of the Cyclops, then the enraged Cyclops would break and twist the Drowner King's bones. Blood splattered, bodily fluids mingled. The cave entrance was a mess, littered with their torn flesh, with some crushed Drowners mixed in.

After drinking two more potions of Drowner Heart Extract to restore his stamina, Allen hid behind the cliff wall, closely monitoring the progress of the brutal fight. Suddenly, he detected a strong scent of blood nearby. Following the scent, he realized the small lake in front of the cave had turned red from the monsters' blood, and it had drifted around him. Such a volume of blood loss would affect even these massive creatures.

Sure enough, the sounds of their fierce battle gradually subsided. The two tangled, blood-soaked beasts rolled slower and slower. Allen knew the moment of harvest was near.
