Gavin and Miyuki are seen walking through a forest, on a journey to the Shi Mountains for Gavin's quest. They walk beside each other awkwardly, both of them looking at their surroundings in the opposite direction.
"This is so awkward... why'd she do that out of nowhere! Now I have no choice but to accept her.. wait a minute... why did I accept her?"
Gavin thinks to himself as he looks around the forest scenery,
"This is so weird! I'm walking beside him... it's so... so... ahh, what am I saying! Why'd I even ask him that, why'd I join him? I don't know what I'm doing anymore... I don't know what's wrong with me..."
Miyuki says in her thoughts, flustered as she grits her teeth, biting her nails as she tries to distract herself from Gavin, who seems to be annoyed of her.
Eventually, night begins to fall on their journey, as the two decide to set up camp.
Gavin goes out and looks for some food and firewood, while Miyuki just creates some things for herself while Gavin is away.
Trees fall, loud roars, squeals and explosions are heard in the forest as Gavin hunts down a demon boar for it's meat.
"This... should be the same as hunting down a normal boar..."
Gavin thinks to himself, as he finally prepares to go all out onto this monster.
Meanwhile, Miyuki just sits back at their camp, drinking some tea on a makeshift table and chair, as she already set up a fire with plant and fire magic.
Gavin is then seen exiting the forest, carrying the dismembered limb of the monster he hunted, and a huge pile of firewood on one shoulder, covered in its blood as he pants in exhaustion. He then just throws it in front of Miyuki, causing her to feel disgusted,
"Ew, what the hell?"
Miyuki says in disgust and confusion, as Gavin also throws down the firewood next to the fallen beast, before falling to the ground in exhaustion, staring into the sky as the sky continues to fall dark.
A few hours later, the two are seen beside a huge fire, made with all the wood Gavin had, and a little help from Miyuki's magic. The boar's leg seems to have been cooked rotisserie style, as the two are seen feasting on it beside the fire.
Miyuki takes a bite of the meat and is shocked at how good it is, despite it being from the wild, which impresses her about how good Gavin can actually cook. She turns over to him, as he just stares into the fire, completely ignoring her presence as he takes a bite out of the food.
"W-woah, so cool..."
Miyuki accidentally thought out loud, as Gavin notices this. She immediately covers her mouth in embarrassment and looks away, as Gavin only sighs and goes back to munching.
Later on, Gavin sets up a tent that he borrowed from the guild, as Miyuki just straight up uses earth magic and creates a little hut, with air conditioning, a bed, chair and table inside.
Miyuki stands in her house, as she suddenly gets a thought about Gavin. She kind of felt bad for him as he has to sleep outside in a tent, so she then modifies the bed to be larger and fit for two. However, she quickly changes her mind as she dismantles it, embarrassed that she really just did that, as she began to scream in frustration into her snow pillow.
Meanwhile, Gavin lays in his tent outside, a bit jealous of Miyuki's magic helping her with everything until now, with the earth hut right beside his tent, when he suddenly hears her start screaming.
He then covers his ears with a pillow in annoyance,
"This, is about to be a long journey..."
Gavin says to himself with a sigh, as he tries to get some sleep.
The next day, Gavin and Miyuki wake up, as they both pack up and make their move again, focused on their journey.
The two spend many days and nights together, fighting monsters that get in their way, seeing the forests and fields and the sceneries, as the two help each other and actually start to get close.
One day, around 5 days into their journey after leaving Artillos, Miyuki suddenly stops Gavin in their tracks as they pass by what seems to be a barrier,
"Okay, Gavin, listen up, we're about to enter what's called a "Red Zone", also known as the danger zone, obviously. Which means that starting from this point, higher-ranked and more dangerous monsters will start appearing, not just simple, mutated animals."
Miyuki explains as the two stare into the shadows of the slightly more darker forest ahead, as Gavin gulps nervously, before taking a deep breath to build up his confidence,
"Alright, got it."
Gavin replies as the two then step into the new, more dangerous part of the forest, as the atmosphere shifts almost immediately to a more dark, serious one.
Not even a minute into the forest, a monster appears right in front of them. It seems to be an orc, a horrifying, half-pig, half-man demon. The orc then pulls out an axe as it roars before charging towards them.
"Dammit... an A-Rank already."
Miyuki complains with a sigh, as she pulls out her staff and points at the orc, as Gavin then goes into a battle stance.
Before Gavin could do anything however, Miyuki immediately charges up an attack,
"Fireball."
She says with a cold tone, as the attack is instantly launched at the orc, blowing it up right in front of them.
The smoke clears as Gavin is seen coughing from the smoke as it clears. He opens his eyes to suddenly see the orc's arm in his hands, as he then drops it in disgust.
"What the hell?"
He says, as he then sees Miyuki continue walking, before stopping to look back at Gavin,
"C'mon, we're almost there. You're gonna have to get used to sights like that if we keep doing quests like this in the future."
Miyuki explains as Gavin sighs,
"Damn... Alright then."
Gavin replies as he then follows Miyuki as their journey towards the Shi Mountains almost comes to a close.
After a bit more, the duo reach a cliff area, where a magnificent sight welcomes them,
"Woah... so that's the Shi Mountains..."
Gavin says in awe as he stands at the edge of the cliff, staring at the sight of the magnificent Shi Mountains, as Miyuki rests nearby, sitting on a log as she takes a breath.
"Yep, Shi Mountains... passed by it a few times on my journeys, it's pretty cool, I guess..."
Miyuki comments as she sits, as Gavin then goes over to Miyuki as he sits beside her, sighing deeply in exhaustion as he sighs as well.
"Well then, let's set up camp for now, night's about to fall soon."
Gavin says to Miyuki, as he then immediately gets up with a grunt, stretching and cracking his knuckles, neck and back as he prepares himself.
"Okay, I'll go set up the tents..."
Miyuki says, as Gavin then scoffs,
"Oh really? I thought you would make another earth hut or something?"
Gavin replies playfully, as Miyuki just blushes in embarrassment,
"W-well... I-I just wanted to.... uhm... experience the outdoors every once in a while! Yeah! I have to as an adventurer, it's our job to know the basic skills of surviving outdoors..."
Miyuki says as an excuse, as Gavin only nods in agreement sarcastically.
"Uh huh... is that why you didn't accept the camping gear the guild offered you and said that 'you're fine by yourself'?"
Gavin says to her with a smirk, as she bites her tongue.
"W-well..."
Miyuki stutters, as Gavin just sighs.
"Point is, there's only one tent, and I don't plan on sharing with you, little miss lady."
Gavin says with an annoyed tone, as Miyuki gets angry at him for calling her that.
"Hey! I'm not little, you brat! I'm literally like, six years older than you!"
Miyuki argues, as Gavin just rolls his eyes,
"Ironic that you're calling me a brat..."
Gavin replies, as Miyuki just gets frustrated even more.
However, before their argument got any more heated, a monster suddenly comes out of the forest, a huge demon-bull with a huge pair of horns.
"Woah! Looks like its the perfect time to have beef for dinner, don't you think-"
Gavin says jokingly to Miyuki, when suddenly, the bull charges at him, throwing the both of them off the cliff, as Miyuki only watches in horror.
"Gavin!"
She exclaims as she watches them fall onto the ground below.
Gavin groans as he gets up from the forest floor, as he also groans in pain as his body regenerates an injury.
The bull is also seen getting up nearby, as it walks over to Gavin, snorting as it prepares to charge once more, stomping the ground as it growls. Gavin scowls back as he prepares to stop the monster,
"C'mon!"
He taunts the bull, as it then charges at him with full force.
Gavin then grabs the monster by its horns right before he could get hit, as he stands his ground while the bull continues to try and charge him. The bull continues to charge through the forest, hoping to run over Gavin as Gavin gets pushed through multiple bushes and trees, as he tries to resist it all.
Meanwhile, Miyuki goes over to look over at the edge of the cliff, as all she hears are loud crashes and roars, as she watches as tree after tree begins to fall with each second as Gavin and the monster continues to fight.
Gavin then eventually finally puts the monster to a stop, before using his strength to lift it into the air, before throwing it on its back with a Supplex just by its horns. He then moves away as he tries to punch the monster while it lays on the ground, however, the bull manages to react, moving away before Gavin could hit it, as Gavin smashes the ground below him, shaking the battlefield. The monster bull then gets up, as it immediately charges at Gavin.
Gavin manages to notice this in time, as he manages to move out of the way, causing the bull to smash its horns into a tree behind Gavin, getting itself stuck.
Miyuki then arrives on the scene, riding an ice bird before dropping down, watching the sight of the monster bull as it snaps the tree in half as it escapes.
"Miyuki! Use your earth magic or something to make a hole in the ground or something, I got an idea!"
Gavin exclaims, as Miyuki nods, going above and beyond as she creates a hole ass crater (get it?) while also adding the attributes of a sand pit to hopefully help Gavin with dealing with the demon bull.
Gavin then taunts the bull once again, trying to get it to charge towards him, as the demon prepares to do so. However, the monster catches the sight of Miyuki, her "weaker" appearance catching its attention, as it then immediately charges towards her.
"Miyuki, watch out!"
Gavin calls out to her, as she instinctively uses her ice magic to freeze the bull in place, trapping it in a mini iceberg.
Gavin then sighs, as he goes over to Miyuki,
"Hey, you alright?"
Gavin asks Miyuki, as she sighs,
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just... didn't expect that to happen."
Miyuki replies, blushing slightly as she gets flustered by Gavin's concern for her
"Oh my God... He's worried about me! This means... he actually does care about me! Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!"
Miyuki thinks to herself as she sighs deeply, managing to keep a poker face as she tries to hold back her feelings.
Gavin then focuses his attention back onto the frozen bull, as he the bull begins to break out, causing the ice to shatter as the still shivering demon bull tries to shake the freezing feeling off.
Gavin then goes behind the bull before it could recompose itself, grabbing it by its tail, causing it to roar in pain as Gavin grabs its sensitive tail. Gavin then began spinning around while holding onto the huge monster, causing it to start flying around in the air as Gavin spins faster and faster. Powerful winds are generated as this happens, causing Miyuki to try and defend herself from that.
Gavin then throws the bull into the air, as it roars in struggle. Gavin then jumps up into the air right above it, before charging up an insanely powerful aura-infused punch and hitting the bull at full force, the impact creating a huge shockwave into the sky. Trees are blown away everywhere as powerful winds blow. Miyuki is on the ground, trying to resist the aftershock as she creates an earth wall as she tries to defend herself from the wind, the sky's clouds are cleared as the bull gets shot straight down to the ground, shattering the air as sonic booms are made with each second the bull falls.
Two seconds after the impact, the bull is sent straight down, perfectly into the middle of the sandpit as it lays, as Gavin in the air is about to fall back down.
"Alright, Miyuki, finish it off with some of your fire magic!"
Gavin says to Miyuki from above, as Miyuki follows and prepares her attack,
"Inferno!"
She chants as she starts to cast her fire magic into the hole. The monster finally manages to get back up, however, it was too late, as Miyuki casts her insanely powerful "Inferno", setting the pit in flames as the demon bull can be heard roaring in pain as it burns to its death.
Gavin then lands lightly beside Miyuki, as he sighs and gets up, groaning as he starts to stretch, tired after their battle.
"Yep, we're having beef tonight, alright..."
Gavin says with a smile as Miyuki chuckles a bit at his joke, while also feeling flustered and proud of their teamwork.
The sunset is seen on the horizon as Gavin and Miyuki are seen back at their camp on the cliffs, with Miyuki struggling with setting up the tent, as Gavin is seen severing the cooked monster bull into multiple pieces, while also seasoning it as he prepares his and Miyuki's dinner.
Gavin wipes off some sweat as he sighs, looking pridefully at the cooked bull. He then looks at the tents, which are still not set up, as a lump is seen moving around in the tent covers, with a frustrated Miyuki moving around under it, as Gavin laughs at the sight.
"Hey, you need some help?"
Gavin offers to Miyuki, as she growls at him,
"Shut up! I can do this on my own."
She replies with an angry tone, as Gavin sighs and sits back,
"Suit yourself..."
Gavin says as Miyuki stops struggling under the covers, seeming to think about something as she begins hitting herself in frustration, holding back screams before finding her way out of the sheets, poking out her head as she looks at Gavin before looking away in embarrassment.
"F-fine... m-maybe you can help me out a bit."
Miyuki says shyly, as Gavin looks at her with a smile,
"Heh, alright then."
Gavin gets up and stretches once again, before going over to the messed up tent parts.
"How about you go over there and eat first, I can do this myself."
Gavin says to Miyuki as he picks up the supports and moves the covers aside to make some space as he prepares to begin working, as Miyuki blushes at Gavin's act of kindness.
"O-okay..."
She simply stutters in reply as she makes her way over to their makeshift dinner table, where the delicious-looking bull sits. The mere scent of the food makes Miyuki's drool as she grabs some of the meat and takes a bite.
Miyuki's tears up a bit at the taste of the food,
"So good... Not even my chefs could make something this delicious back at home."
Miyuki says to herself as she continues to dig in.
She then looks back over at Gavin, who somehow already halfway through setting up the tent. As Miyuki's mouth widens in shock,
"Woah... he's really skilled at all of this..."
She says to herself again as she begins to focus more into Gavin.
Miyuki stares at Gavin as he works, her eyes are all over him, staring at his biceps as it hardens while he carries some heavy support. His sweat making his already visible abs through his thin shirt even more visible, as Miyuki enjoys the sight of it all.
However, Gavin notices this as he raises an eyebrow,
"Hey, Miyuki... You alright?"
Gavin asks her as she snaps back to reality, blushing in embarrassment as she realizes she's been caught,
"O-oh! U-uhm... nothing? J-just... uh, staring at.... the grass! Yeah, the grass... w-why?"
Miyuki stutters as she desperately tries to defend herself, while Gavin, being Gavin... is oblivious as to what's going on and just nods, thinking that Miyuki's weird.
"Uh huh..."
Gavin says with a look of suspicion, before going back to work, as Miyuki takes a deep sigh of relief, while also confused as she begins to wonder how Gavin really isn't noticing anything she's been doing.
"Is this man dumb? Or is he just not saying anything..."
Miyuki begins to think to herself, as she begins blushing in embarrassment, screaming inside as Gavin continues to sigh in annoyance as he finishes up the tent.
"sighs So much for all that teamwork, same ol' same...."
He thinks to himself, as he finally completes the tent. He then groans as he stretches his back, before making his way over to the dinner table to eat.
After a few hours, the night sky shines with a thousand stars as the two is seen inside their tent, awkwardly just laying down facing away from each other as they both struggle to get some sleep in each other's presence.
"Dammit... this is so embarrassing! Why'd I even say I'd do this..."
Miyuki thinks to herself,
"I think I'm just gonna kill myself."
Gavin thinks to himself once more with a sigh, as the two continue to try and get some sleep.
