Claire's face stiffened at Joshua's question. "You don't need to worry," she said coolly. "I know this is all just an act to make Grandpa think we're a happy, loving couple, which is not true at all."
Joshua's anger was obvious. "Would you stop making things so messy all the time?" He was about to say more when his phone rang. Glancing at the screen, he sighed and excused himself to take the call.
Stepping away from the table, Joshua answered the call. "What is it, Nathan?" he asked, his tone sharp.
"Sir, it's Samantha," Nathan's voice was eager. "She cut her wrist. She's in the hospital now. Her friend called and said she did it because of you, because you left her."
Joshua cursed under his breath. "Which hospital?"
"St. Mary's," Nathan answered.
Joshua ran a hand through his hair, annoyance obvious. "Alright, I'm on my way." He ended the call and quickly walked back to Claire.
