Ash turned to leave the room, his mind already racing with thoughts of preparation, when he felt a hand on his arm. He turned to see Thane standing there, his expression dark and unyielding.
"Ash, a word," he growled, his grip tightening.
"You wouldn't happen to know anything about Rexlar's death, would you?"
Thane hissed, his voice edged with suspicion. "He wasn't weak. He wouldn't have rolled over and died so easily."
Ash met Thane's gaze head-on, his voice steady and unflinching.
"If Rexlar was as strong as you say he was, how did he die?" He continued, his expression unwavering. "You think you're better than me. But that's a mistake."
"He probably let his guard down around you," Thane spat, his lip curling in disgust.
"Thought you were an ally. I could see it now. You snuck up on him and stabbed him in the back. No, it's not implausible at all that you could've killed him."
