Hearing this, Noelle who hadn't been paying attention to the people around them, instantaneously turned her anxious face towards Axel, so as to see that good-for-nothing ugly beast who ruined her perfect life.
Upon looking there. Her eyes widened substantially, almost falling from it's position as she saw the charming and attractive orange haired wealthy man which she had once encountered back at the local market standing there.
Noelle's heart accelerated unfathomably. Still looking at the attractive man, she could also see him discussing something important with some familiar people also. It was Knight Desmond and Knight Amaar, she had seen the both of them also at the market. And not to forget how she had brutally embarrassed them and caused them a lot of trouble.
'Damnit!'
'I'm surely going to be fired soon. No wonder he was so domineering and rude. Perhaps that's why the people at the market were all staring at me awkwardly after the incident. Damnit! I'm so doomed!' Noelle thought inwardly, her mind was already extremely messy.
Noelle's mouth couldn't even close, leaning towards Arcadia, "King Axel is the orange haired man right?" she asked again just to be certain. And she really hope it wouldn't be King Axel.
"Yes he is," Arcadia stated calmly. Causing Noelle to feel extremely dizzy, devastated and frightened, Noelle swallowed.
Noelle had assumed Axel to be someone extremely old, and wrinkled and even ugly. She didn't know that he was this young, and also wasn't expecting him to be this charming too.
Noticing the uneasy expression on Noelle's face, Arcadia spoke worriedly, "Are you alright Noelle?"
Noelle gritted her teeths harshly against eachother. As she continued speaking to herself inwardly, 'It's better I stay out of sight. I can't leave this place yet without getting my revenge, or else all my hardwork would be in vain. I should try to avoid them for as long as I can.'
Seeing that Noelle hadn't answered her question, Arcadia spoke again;
"Noelle? Noelle?!"
Hastily getting herself together, Noelle forced a difficult smile on her delicate lips, "I-i am fine. I'm very fine. Let's quickly get going." Noelle prompted as she hastily looked away from King Axel, she took Arcadia's hand and pulled it along with hers. Making Arcadia stand beside her, so that she would be able to hide beside Arcadia's figure.
"You seem quite in the mood to work today," Arcadia commented, seeing how Noelle was actively pulling her so they could get to work.
"What can I say Arcadia? It's my duty so it must be in my best interest at all times," Noelle lied firmly as they both hastily walked away from the enormous living room and towards the main entrance.
She didn't dare to glance backwards, besides, what if one of the people's faces met with hers by mistake? She couldn't afford that, at least not yet. Although she knew it was inevitable, but still she had to hide for as long as she could.
'Oh heavens! Why did it have to be him that I encountered back at the local market?! Couldn't it have been someone else?!' Noelle thought, almost wanting to facepalm herself big-time. But she knew that it was no time to regret. She was already aware of herself being unlucky, so all she knew that she had to do now was hide.
"Oh and Noelle I—" Arcadia wanted to speak but was interrupted by the way Noelle jolted when she suddenly spoke. "Sorry to have startled you, Noelle."
Disregarding it with a wave, "It's nothing. Don't worry," said Noelle. Trying to act okay.
"Alright… anyways Noelle, what I wanted to say was that their are still other things you should know. Like when you'd be granted a leave of absence. So I'll give you a small manual when we're done working. And in their you would find everything you need to know about the job, and more rules and regulations you have to follow."
"Alright, I'll be expecting it," Noelle replied trying to sound as calm as ever. Little did Arcadia know that, Noelle's worries were already taking a toll on her. "Um Arcadia. How many royal members are currently living in the castle. I need to know their names and who they are, so that whenever they pass by. I'll be aware that it's them."
Seeing nothing wrong in that, Arcadia agreed, "Their are only four. King Axel himself. Mistress, and her only daughter Lady Yvonne. And also not to forget Young Master, which is King Axel's eleven year old little brother, Luster. Those are the four main people whom you should be wary of, and respect," Arcadia explained mildly.
"Alright. Thanks for the information," Noelle appreciated, however she couldn't help but wonder about Luster who was King Axel's little brother. From what Noelle had heard, Axel was a mighty dragon who had existed thousands of years ago, so she didn't understand how it was possible for him to have a little brother.
Something seemed fishy about the whole situation!
'These people must have a lot of dark secrets lurking in their cupboard!' Noelle thought as she shooked her head in displeasure.
As they arrived at the main entrance of the castle.
Arcadia pointed, "There's the statue. Make sure you clean it up properly and make it shiny."
"Why not," Noelle replied diligently.
She then look towards the huge statue. Wondering how she was going to be able to clean the upper part of it, seeing how high the statue was.
Noelle continued staring at it for a while. And seeing how Noelle stared at it, Arcadia spoke;
"Use that stool over there to convey yourself upwards. That's the towel you will use to clean it. And also, be careful," Arcadia instructed, and Noelle nodded. With that, Arcadia went away from Noelle. And went in the direction of the garden which she had said earlier.
Noelle watched Arcadia until she was fully out of sight. Then she sighed. Staring back at the statue. Since this was her first assignment, then she should do it properly.
She stretched herself properly. Using her staff to support herself, she moved towards the towel and took it, then towards the stool, she also then carried the stool and placed it in front of the statue.
Noelle placed her staff aside, leaning it across the wall nearby.
Then slowly and gently. She climbed as carefully as possible atop the stool. Knowing how clumsy she was, she didn't want to make any mistakes at all. Knowing that if she fall, it would only add to her already deteriorated legs.
Balancing herself on the stool, Noelle skillfully moved the towel around the statue. Cleaning it appropriately. Noelle cleaned every nooks and crannies of it as she didn't want anyone to see faults with whatever she did.
She could only muse inwardly at how her life had changed so unexpectedly, from a majestic princess to a meaningless Maidservant. Indeed it was something to muse about.
But she knew that it doesn't matter, and all her hard work would pay once she gets her revenge.
Noelle cleaned and dusted the huge statue for about fifteen minutes. Then she stopped, 'I think it's all cleaned up now. I should hastily move away from here before someone I haven't prepared myself to meet sees me here.'
The moment Noelle attempted to get down, she heard sounds of footsteps coming from inside the castle. And when the person came out, she could see that it was Desmond, that rude Guard she had seen earlier at the local market also.
Noelle hastily shifted her eyes away from his direction to avoid eye contact with him. She promptly balanced back on the stool, and continued acting as though she was still cleaning the statue which she wasn't.
Noelle sighed blissfully upon percepting that the man was completely out of sight. She attempted to get down as soon as possible, however, again she spontaneously stopped herself from doing so when she noticed two other familiar people coming out of the castle.
It was Knight Amaar, and one of the two Guards that had accompanied King Axel back at the local market on that fateful day.
'Damnit! Why is my luck so bad today?!' Noelle clicked her tongue apprehensively, as she hastily balanced herself back on the stool to avoid being seen, and again acted as though she was still cleaning to hide her face.
And fortunately for her those Guards didn't seem to care about any irrelevant Maidservant who was simply doing her job. As they didn't even bother to look towards her.
Noelle waited until they were all out of sight. As she knitted her eyebrows anxiously. Only God knows what they will do to her if they found out it was her.
Noelle waited for some few minutes more. Knowing that more of them might come, she didn't want to meet any of them yet, knowing that they wouldn't be pleased to see her also.
Noelle glanced at the main entrance door for a while again. Making sure that no one else was coming before getting down. Seeing that no one seems to be coming out anymore.
Noelle exhaled sedately, "Thank goodness! This is my chance to go!"
With that thought, Noelle looked away from the entrance. She attempted to get down from the high stool hastily, but unfortunately, her legs malfunctioned, causing her to trip over the long purple and black Maidservant gown she was wearing.
And before Noelle knew it, she lost balance on the stool, and her body was ferociously and forcefully sent backwards to meet against the tiled harsh floor, "Ahhh!" And her voice let out a penetrating scream. Alerting everyone in the castle.
