Chapter 29: The God-King Alex
Alex sat in his hostel room, the weight of his new reality pressing down on him. He stared at the notifications on his phone, the words "God of Wishes" still feeling surreal. His mind wandered back to the white expanse and the overwhelming surge of power that had coursed through him.
Suddenly, a new notification appeared.
**Notification: The Divine Order of ##### has announced your arrival in the other world. All beings, including humans, demi-humans, elves, demons, hidden species, and even gods, have heard of the new God-King and God of Wishes.**
Alex's heart pounded. The idea of being known as the God-King was daunting. He knew he needed to share this with his closest friends and family, but how could he possibly explain something so extraordinary?
Determined to find a way, he decided to call a meeting. He sent a message to CV, his wife, and his closest friends, asking them to gather in the common room. He paced nervously as he waited, rehearsing what he would say.
One by one, they arrived. CV entered first, her eyes filled with concern. "Alex, what's going on?"
Sarah, Jenny, and Mark followed, their expressions a mix of curiosity and worry. Finally, his family—his parents, George and Athena, and his sister Emily—joined them, having been transported back for this important discussion.
Alex took a deep breath. "Thank you all for coming. I have something important to tell you. It's… it's about what happened after our wedding."
CV took his hand, her touch grounding him. "You can tell us, Alex. We're here for you."
He nodded and began to recount the events. "After we got married, I received a notification about a strange update. I was transported to a place where everything was white, and the wish crystal appeared before me. It told me I had been chosen to become the God of Wishes, the strongest God."
Gasps filled the room. His friends and family exchanged bewildered glances, struggling to process what they were hearing.
"You're a god now?" Jenny asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.
"Yes," Alex confirmed, "but I'm not fully in control of my powers yet. I need to gain experience and work hard to become the true strongest God. For now, I can grant wishes, but I have to be careful. I've decided to grant one wish every day to someone who worships me."
George, his father, was the first to speak up. "Son, this is incredible. But it's also a huge responsibility."
Athena nodded in agreement. "We believe in you, Alex. But you must be cautious. Power like this can be dangerous if not used wisely."
Sarah, always the pragmatic one, added, "And what about the announcement in the other world? How are they reacting?"
Alex looked down, the weight of the information heavy on his shoulders. "Everyone in the other world has heard about me. They're calling me the God-King and God of Wishes. Even the gods there are shocked."
Mark, ever the supportive friend, clapped him on the back. "We've got your back, Alex. Whatever you need, we're here."
Emily, his sister, smiled warmly. "This is a lot to take in, but we'll get through it together."
CV squeezed his hand. "You're not alone, Alex. We're with you every step of the way."
Alex felt a surge of gratitude for the people around him. Their support gave him strength and resolve. "Thank you, everyone. I promise to use my powers responsibly and to always consider the consequences of my actions. Together, we'll navigate this new reality."
As they continued to discuss the implications of his new role, Alex felt a sense of calm settle over him. The path ahead was uncertain, but with his loved ones by his side, he felt ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
