After staying in the dark for a while, the villa was silent. Leon Chen couldn't help but say, "Angelina, your bodyguards seem to be unresponsive too!"
Angelina gritted her teeth, "I must fire them!"
"Where is your backup power? It looks like we have to handle it ourselves." Leon looked at Angelina.
"In the basement... I'll go with you!" Angelina held on tight.
Leon glanced at Serena Su. The girl understood his intention. "I'll check on Angelina's assistant and bodyguards."
After they left, Serena glanced at the snowstorm outside the window, a thoughtful look flashing in her eyes. The blizzard raged under the moonlight, the night's snow bright and transparent, illuminating the corridor.
A beam of light from around the corner entered the corridor, revealing a man and a woman. The man looked at the raging snow outside the corridor window, with a bright new moon hanging in the sky. He was amazed.
"This snow scene is truly beautiful."
"Leon, you're being ridiculous. Now is not the time to appreciate the scenery," the girl next to him complained.
Leon rolled his eyes at her.
Angelina's tense mood had eased a lot. Unlike Leon, who still had the leisure to look at the snow scene, she kept glancing at the dark corners, as if afraid of encountering some ghost.
"Are you afraid of the dark?" Leon thought this was newsworthy.
"Who's afraid of the dark? It's just that the power outage after playing that game is really annoying," Angelina pouted.
Leon couldn't help but chuckle. "I told you not to play."
Angelina snorted and ignored him.
Leon used the lighting function of his watch as they walked. Angelina's villa was indeed enormous, with a corridor more than ten meters long, plus a hundred-square-meter hall, and other rooms. To decorate the villa, Angelina had bought many uniquely shaped sculptures to place in various corners. Usually, they looked quite stylish, but now, with the snowstorm and power outage, those sculptures seemed terrifying. Several times, demon sculptures nearly made Angelina scream and hide behind Leon. After Angelina's nth complaint about wanting to smash the sculptures, Leon finally suggested, "If you want, you can sing. I heard it can boost your courage. In the past, people would sing when passing by cemeteries to boost their courage."
"I said I'm not afraid, OK?" Angelina emphasized.
"I've always wanted to hear you sing in person," Leon shrugged, his tone regretful.
"Fine, I'll reluctantly fulfill your small wish..."
Leon found Angelina's proud attitude amusing, but he held back his laughter to avoid hurting her feelings.
In the darkness, Angelina prepared herself. She was indeed a natural singer. As soon as the first melody flowed from her red lips, she was immersed in the music. Fear gave way to calm and dignity.
But when Leon heard Angelina singing "Night Visitor," he almost laughed. The song was about vampires, with a gothic, dark, and eerie melody.
Hearing Angelina sing live for the first time, Leon put away his smile, impressed. Under her singing, the darkness felt truly filled with malevolence watching them. Leon stayed alert.
A few minutes later, they neared the basement. Suddenly, a closed window burst open, letting in howling wind and snow. The deafening roar echoed in the corridor. Angelina screamed and hid in Leon's arms. Leon frowned, closed the window, and patted her back. "It's just the wind. Don't scare yourself!"
"Really? I'm not scared..." Angelina's words trailed off. Leon felt her body stiffen suddenly. "What's wrong?" He grabbed Angelina's shoulders and saw her eyes wide open, staring upwards. In her clear eyes, he saw a pair of wolf-like green eyes glowing.
"There..." Angelina muttered dumbfoundedly.
"Don't talk!" Leon whispered.
Angelina clung to Leon, lowering her head. Singing was out of the question now. Yes, Angelina saw the most terrifying thing in her life—a shadow on the ceiling, with hungry wolf-like green eyes. Goosebumps rose all over her as she clung to Leon, afraid to let go.
"Do you trust me?" Leon whispered.
"Yes..." Angelina's voice trembled. She loved excitement, but the current atmosphere and environment were beyond her tolerance.
"Then stand here and don't move. Close your eyes and sing a song. I'll be back..." Leon instructed.
"Where are you going?" Realizing Leon was leaving, Angelina grabbed him, nervous. Though she didn't like Angelina's spoiled behavior, her current state was pitiful. After all, she was the world's top idol.
Leon chuckled softly, his tone gentle, "I'm going to meet your guest..."
"Huh?" Before Angelina could react, Leon left. She closed her eyes, as if praying, hands clenched at her forehead, a solemn and sacred song flowing out. This time, she sang "Ave Maria."
Leon had taken only a few steps when he suddenly moved, stepping on the wall and dashing upwards. The shadow in the darkness didn't expect this, stunned when it saw Leon's purple eyes.
"Blood..." Their surprise was cut short as Leon swiftly lunged at the shadow. He saw a spiral pattern in the green eyes.
An air vortex seemed to appear, and Leon, expecting to catch them off guard, found himself in a grinding whirlpool. He retreated, landing back on the floor.
The figure descended, a tall Western man with terrifying eyes. This reminded Leon of a certain group.
"Spiritualist?"
"What do you want?" Leon asked coldly.
"Someone wants a great show from you," the man spoke English, which Leon understood. The man's lecherous gaze fell on Angelina behind Leon, making his eyes darken.
"Now that you're a Blood Clan member, it makes things easier."
Without further ado, the man attacked. His speed was ghostly, almost teleporting in four-dimensional space.
Leon remained calm, standing still, hands slightly open. Energy flowed through his fingers, creating an aura of calm. Listening to the faint sounds, he sensed the attack's direction. Leon smirked, moving at the last moment, his right hand feinting, causing the opponent to lose balance. Leon punched his chest.
But the man didn't retreat. The punch seemed ineffective, and his fingers, like steel claws, aimed at Leon's head. Leon calmly blocked with his shoulder, countering with a strong push. The man shouted, retreating, as Leon's next punch hit his chest.
Leon didn't press the attack. His movements were swift and unpredictable, making the Spiritualist uneasy.
"Chinese martial arts?" the man muttered.
Leon formed a Yin-Yang symbol with his hands, energy swirling around him.
"Tai Chi," he said coldly.
After mastering integration, Leon first learned Tai Chi, one of China's oldest and most prestigious martial arts. Though Tai Chi was profound, Leon had only grasped its basics after extensive study. Today's trial showed promise.
Leon moved, a gust of wind at his feet, charging at the opponent. Each punch was like silk, interconnected. The man dodged left and right, annoyed, his eyes emitting a spiral light, creating a chilling aura.
Leon grabbed the spiral airflow, twisting and breaking the energy. The Spiritualist, shocked, increased his power.
The airflow turned sharp. Leon, surprised, dodged, the streams cutting the corridor with slashes.
Realizing his tough target, the Spiritualist fled. But as he turned, he saw purple eyes and an evil smile in the dark. Leon grabbed his face, slamming him to the ground with a punch that cracked the floor. The Spiritualist, bloodied, groaned weakly.
"Who sent you?" Leon sneered.
The Spiritualist couldn't speak, unable to resist.
"Don't think you can stay silent," Leon mocked, eager to test a new ability.
Ability NO.88, Mind Invasion initiated!
Leon's eyes glowed with a soul-piercing light.
"Leon, are you okay?" Angelina, opening her eyes, saw the final scene, nervously approaching.
Leon blinked, returning to normal. "I'm fine."
"Is he a ghost?" Angelina shuddered at the memory of those eyes.
"Maybe," Leon chuckled. As he turned, Angelina groaned, holding her head in pain. Leon felt her thoughts enter his mind, quickly shutting down the ability.
He didn't mean to invade her privacy, but the brief mind read made Leon frown at Angelina.
"What happened? My head hurts," Angelina shook her head, dizzy.
Leon was about to speak when a strong mental command hit his mind. The cost?
Learning the command's cost made Leon's expression darken. The grim look vanished quickly as Leon grabbed Angelina's shoulders, pushing her against the wall. Looking into her eyes, he couldn't help but enter a deeply affectionate mode.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Angelina asked, surprised by Leon's loving gaze.
"Angelina, from the first moment I saw you, I couldn't forget you. Be my girlfriend," Leon said seriously.
Angelina's mouth formed an O, stunned by Leon's sudden confession.
Meanwhile, someone inside Leon screamed in frustration.
Oh my God, you can't be serious...
