The van followed the taxi for a while before it stopped at a certain stretch of road. Leon Chen got out and stood in the middle of the road, leisurely putting on a pair of gloves.
The yellow-haired youth in the van was puzzled.
"What is this kid doing?" The driver slowed down, confused by Leon's actions. He had just gotten in the car and now he was getting out. What was his game?
The yellow-haired youth closely observed Leon's every move, not noticing anything strange, except for the gloves.
"Should we run him over?" the driver asked.
"Wait!"
The yellow-haired youth's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly stopped the driver.
The van stopped about fifty meters from Leon, and the yellow-haired youth scanned the surroundings warily. His confusion deepened. He had thought Leon's actions were to lure them into a trap, but the area was deserted, without a single person in sight. It wasn't even under surveillance cameras.
It was the perfect place for an unnoticed car accident. What was this student up to?
"Boss, he's looking at us," the driver said with a tremble in his voice.
Leon stood in the street, watching the van as if he were listening to music, tapping his foot.
"Charge! Run him over!" The yellow-haired youth's eyes turned cold, and he gave the command.
The driver, already impatient, slammed the accelerator. The van roared forward like a tiger released from its cage.
Leon raised an eyebrow, stopping his humming and tapping. He remained calm and unmoved as the van sped towards him.
The two youths in the van kept their eyes on Leon, their hearts in their throats, fearing he might pull a trick. But what happened next was something they would never forget.
As the van hit Leon, the driver felt like he had driven through a chilling wind. Leon vanished!
The tires screeched, and the van came to a halt.
"Go check if he's dead," the yellow-haired youth ordered.
They looked out the window but saw no trace of Leon. It was as if he had vanished into thin air.
"Did we just see a ghost?" The driver shivered. The impact felt surreal, like passing through a shadow.
The yellow-haired youth lit a cigarette, his hands trembling.
"Boss, this is creepy. Where did that guy go?"
"Yeah."
"Should we abandon this?"
"Yeah."
"What?" The yellow-haired youth snapped out of it, glaring. "Are you talking nonsense? This is an order from young master Wei. Do you want to die?"
"But we hit him, and he disappeared..." the driver stammered, afraid of supernatural phenomena.
"Damn it, stop scaring yourself!" The yellow-haired youth took a deep breath. "Let's call it a day."
They got back in the van, but as soon as they did, the driver screamed.
Leon had reappeared in front of them, as casual as before.
It felt like a hallucination.
"Damn it, run him over!" the yellow-haired youth shouted. Whether he was a man or a ghost, they couldn't back down now.
The van charged at Leon again, only to experience the same eerie sensation. This time, it was even more terrifying as someone patted the yellow-haired youth on the shoulder, and a chilling voice whispered in his ear, "Say hello to young master Wei for me!"
"Ah?"
The youth screamed in terror. Leon had appeared behind them.
The driver fainted from fright, causing the van to speed up uncontrollably.
"Watch out!" Leon said.
The yellow-haired youth turned to see the van heading for a pole.
Crash!
He lost consciousness.
At the airport terminal, Leon watched the flow of people exiting. He checked his phone, reading a message from Sienna Tang about her arrival time and the breakthrough on the Heavenly Realm's code.
"... 'Noah' has been attacked. This old friend, who accompanied us from the earth's core to the deepest ocean, will finally rest in this world. I have decided to bury 'Noah,' waiting for the day of its revival," Leon murmured, pondering the hidden meaning of the inscription. Should he tell Sienna? He was still considering it.
"Leon!"
A charming voice broke his thoughts, attracting attention from the surrounding people.
Leon looked up and saw Sienna.
Sienna wore a stylish black cotton jacket, a white undershirt, and walked with an elegant allure. Her red baseball cap, black glasses frames, and straight hair added to her charm.
Even in the winter, wrapped up warmly, Sienna exuded an irresistible allure, earning the attention of everyone around her. Hearing her seductive voice, people turned to see who the lucky guy was.
Leon ignored their gazes and naturally took Sienna's luggage.
Sienna removed her glasses, batting her eyes at Leon with a bewitching smile. "Did you miss me?"
Leon shivered, mumbling a response. "How did things go over there?"
"All done," Sienna sighed, recalling her fallen comrades with a hint of sadness.
Leon wanted to ask her about the Heavenly Realm's code but decided against it for now.
"Did you encounter any trouble?" Leon asked.
"Want to stand up for me?" Sienna teased, her tone playful.
Leon laughed awkwardly.
Sienna smiled, shifting the topic. "But I did make some progress on the Heavenly Realm's code. Maybe it's fate..."
"What did you find?" Leon considered telling her the original text but hadn't figured out how to explain it yet.
"Let's talk about it later," Sienna said, glancing around.
Leon nodded.
They walked side by side towards the exit, chatting about recent events and funny stories. Despite their seemingly intimate conversation, Sienna's inherent allure made them seem more like siblings, which gave some comfort to the envious onlookers.
At that moment, a handsome, blond young man ran over to them, beaming at Sienna.
Sienna frowned.
"Sienna, why didn't you wait for me?" the young man said with a charming smile.
"You're annoying, you know that?" Sienna said irritably. "If you want to play hard to get, go find some other girl. I'm not in the mood."
The blond youth was unfazed. "You can't deny a man the right to pursue love and happiness. What's wrong with me? I can change..."
"I think you should stay away from Sienna," Leon interjected coldly.
Sienna laughed, nodding. "You heard him. Keep your hormones away from me!"
The blond youth noticed Leon for the first time and laughed. "Your brother is quite humorous."
"Hi, I'm Jenkins. I'll make your sister very happy," Jenkins said with a gentlemanly smile.
"I'm not Sienna's brother," Leon corrected.
Jenkins was taken aback. "Then you must be a student!"
Leon remained noncommittal.
Suddenly, Sienna wrapped her arm around Leon's, smiling. "Jealous, darling?"
Both men were stunned.
"My boyfriend is a bit upset, so don't bother me anymore, okay?" Sienna said.
Used to this kind of act, Leon remained calm, playing along.
Jenkins, however, wasn't convinced. "No need for such transparent excuses."
"What do you mean? Are you saying we're not a match?" Sienna asked, annoyed.
Jenkins nodded.
"Darling, what do you think?" Sienna asked.
"Who cares what they think? As long as we know the truth," Leon replied, playing along.
Sienna smiled sweetly. "So, darling, will you marry me?"
Leon was speechless, knowing she was teasing him again. "If you're willing to..."
"My first time" was with you..." Sienna's eyes twinkled as she smiled seductively. "You have to take responsibility!"
Leon was at a loss. Who knew what Sienna meant by "first time"—first handshake, first kiss, or first conversation? It was left to the imagination.
Sienna laughed, leaning in to give Leon a passionate kiss in broad daylight.
The onlookers were stunned, the shattering of their self-comfort was almost audible.
As Leon and Sienna walked away, Jenkins finally snapped out of it, shouting in disbelief, "Ahhh!" His once gentle, cultured eyes now held a chilling intensity.
Back at the research lab, Sienna removed her baseball cap and took a deep breath, smiling at Leon. "When are we getting married?"
"How about we head to the civil affairs office right now?" Leon said sarcastically.
"Okay."
Leon was speechless. Sienna's illogical behavior was scarier than Luna Hu's logical mindset. "Forget it. I give up!"
"How have you been? Has Stargate Corporation contacted you?" Sienna asked, smiling without pushing further.
Leon shook his head. Ever since he handed over the tracker to Smith, it hadn't shown any activity, indicating Stargate hadn't retrieved it yet.
"What did you find in the code?" Leon asked, curious.
"Although I'm not entirely sure, it seems to relate to resurrection and the relics of the Heavenly Realm. I think the Heavenly Realm once visited Earth and left something behind," Sienna speculated.
Leon was taken aback. It closely matched the content of the inscription he had deciphered.
