Chapter 116 - Chapter 116: The Dragon Lies Low, The Tiger Lies Down

The situation escalated to the point where the university had to intervene. By then, Director Qin and his men had fled to the gates of H University, bruised and battered, looking utterly miserable.

"Director, should we call for backup?" a police officer suggested.

"These bastards!" Director Qin cursed, glaring at his subordinate. "Do you really want to blow this up? If this turns into a mass protest, we'll be the ones who get punished by our superiors." In his position, he was shrewd enough to understand the nuances. Besides, H University was a globally renowned institution. Every student had some sort of background, and handling university student incidents was always a headache, especially with these privileged kids.

If it weren't for Chase Wei's presence, he would have avoided university cases like the plague.

"Uncle, young master Wei is still inside," Ryan Qin said, grimacing in pain.

"If we leave now, we'll be held accountable," his companion added.

"Call Ninth Emperor. We can claim we've done our best," Director Qin said with a cunning smile, and the officers understood.

"Leon, are you okay?" Michael Fang looked Leon up and down as the others turned their attention to him.

Leon was also speechless at the current situation in the university. "You guys didn't need to get involved."

"What do you mean? We were protecting our schoolmates!" The others nodded in agreement.

"But Leon, you really dared to do it?" Daniel Zhang said admiringly. "You didn't hesitate at all."

Leon shrugged. "What's there to hesitate about? It was either a fight or swallowing my pride. Nobody expected me to actually hit Chase Wei, though."

Thinking of this, Leon couldn't help but glance at Serena Su.

When he attacked Chase Wei, he had noticed Serena's actions. He hadn't expected such a quiet girl to be so formidable, taking down two bodyguards with such grace. Leon was deeply impressed.

Serena noticed Leon's gaze and returned to her demure, ladylike demeanor.

"You guys went too far this time!" Emma Shen said, her face stern. "You had a reason to beat Chase Wei, but to go against the police? Did you even think about the consequences..."

"Secretary, that's not fair. That director was abusing his power."

"Exactly, who knows what would have happened if we had been taken by those cops?"

The other students were unhappy with Emma's scolding.

"Sigh," Emma sighed. "You can only win this time, not every time. This is Chase Wei's territory. Do you plan to stay in H University forever?"

"Emma, it's not as bad as you think," a calm, authoritative voice interrupted.

Emma's worried face lit up with joy. "President!"

"Everyone, go back to your classes!" Grace Wang ordered, looking around with a frown.

The students looked at each other, unsure of what to do.

"Leon, you and your friends, come with me," Grace said, signaling for them to follow her to the student council president's office. Emma gestured for the other student council members to disperse the students back to their classrooms.

Standing by the window, Grace watched the crowd slowly disperse. She turned to look at Leon, sighing internally. "Is this guy a trouble magnet?" she wondered. In just a few months since the semester started, he had caused so many issues. Now he had even dared to confront Chase Wei.

Grace knew very well who Chase Wei was. He was always cunning and calculating, often making others feel powerless. Leon, however, had beaten him without hesitation.

Leon and Serena sat on the sofa, appearing relaxed as they sipped tea. Poor Lily Lin was tense, her hands gripping her knees tightly.

"Lily, there's no need to be so nervous," Grace said, studying her. It seemed this was her first time looking closely at Leon's girlfriend. Grace was taken aback by Lily's shy demeanor and the pure innocence in her eyes. No wonder Chase Wei had lost control at school.

She indeed had a remarkable presence.

"President, what will you do about this?" Leon asked.

Grace pursed her lips. "What do you think?"

"This isn't Leon's fault. That man used his supposed power to harass Leon's girlfriend. You wouldn't want Leon to welcome him with a smile, would you?" Serena spoke up.

Grace smiled with a hint of amusement. "Serena, your actions were also surprising... Leon is lucky to have a friend like you, but didn't you think you might cause him trouble?"

Serena remained unfazed. "I'll handle my own troubles!"

"Oh." Grace nodded, not pursuing the matter further.

"President, I just have one request," Leon said.

"To settle things with Chase Wei?"

Leon shook his head. "Can you look after Lily for me? I'll deal with Chase Wei myself!"

"What?"

"Leon!"

Serena and Lily were shocked, but Grace seemed to have anticipated it, her smile deepening with understanding. "Of course, I won't allow Chase Wei to cause trouble at H University."

Hearing this, Leon relaxed. Although he still didn't fully understand Grace's true identity, he guessed that handling Chase Wei would be a minor task for her.

Serena's eyes narrowed slightly, surprised by how casually Grace made such a promise.

Wasn't Chase Wei the top young master of West Capital?

Leon beating him up was one thing, but why did Grace also seem to dismiss him so lightly? Serena was puzzled.

"But how do you plan to handle this?" Grace kindly reminded. "I heard Lucas Luo considers you a brother, but he has no say in the West Capital military."

Leon smiled, having never intended to rely on others.

Grace noted this and was briefly taken aback. After pondering for a moment, she shook her head and said, "Alright, Leon, I won't question your methods. I'll handle this matter."

"Is that really okay?" Leon felt Grace's mysterious identity wouldn't allow her to intervene openly.

Grace smiled, thinking the same. But the recent "riot" by the students gave her no choice. As the student council president, she couldn't ignore it. Besides, Scarlett had asked for her help, and Leon had helped her before. Reflecting on it, Grace realized she owed Leon quite a few favors.

A few minutes later, Emma Shen entered the office, looking serious. "President, Chase Wei's father is on his way."

"I know," Grace nodded, smiling. "Let's go meet him."

There was no dramatic scene with multiple trucks and armed soldiers. Instead, a single jeep slowly drove into the school, stopping in front of them.

A tall, imposing middle-aged man stepped out, his features stern and chiseled. His eyes were sharp, exuding an intimidating aura despite his seemingly casual demeanor.

This was Damon Wei, commander of the Third Fleet of the South Sea.

"Commander Wei, my apologies. We should have come to you personally," Grace said with a polite smile, unfazed by his imposing presence.

Damon Wei smiled slightly, a hint of depth in his eyes. "The student council president of H University visiting me would be too much honor." This wasn't just flattery. H University was a microcosm of the nation's political circle. Becoming the president implied a significant position. Although the Wei family dominated West Capital, Damon Wei understood that the central government had placed H University in West Capital for reasons beyond having a prestigious global university.

Damon Wei's gaze fell on Leon, his smile turning slightly cold. "You must be Leon Chen. I heard about what happened from Director Qin..."

"I was a bit impulsive," Leon said, following the script Grace had prepared. He knew he had to give Damon Wei some face.

If he could resolve this peacefully, Leon wouldn't mind giving some face.

"A university student with passion is a true university student. I was like that once," Damon Wei said, his words sounding patronizing but not entirely wrong.

Leon just smiled. Damon Wei was indeed a shrewd character.

"I'm sorry for the fright," Damon Wei said, bowing slightly to Lily Lin, his military sternness replaced with genuine sincerity.

Lily was taken aback, seeing such a high-ranking officer bow to her. She looked to Leon for help.

"Commander Wei, there's no need to make this a big deal. It was a misunderstanding. One day, I'll personally bring Leon to apologize. It was just a misunderstanding born out of concern for his girlfriend," Grace interjected.

Damon Wei laughed. "Grace, you don't need to cover for him. I know my son's character. This lesson... was well-deserved." His gaze turned to Leon, his words seemingly sincere yet inscrutable to Leon. "Chase is too arrogant. It's better he gets beaten now than face worse later."

Their conversation made it clear that Damon Wei was somewhat pleased to see someone curbing his son's arrogance.

Leon also noticed Damon Wei's familiarity and slight reverence towards Grace, adding to his curiosity.

In the end, the commotion caused by West Capital's top young master ended with his father's words, "Well-deserved."

It was an outcome no one expected.

After a few more pleasantries, the Third Fleet commander left, taking with him a thoroughly humbled police chief.

"President, you were amazing," Serena said in awe.

"If it truly ends like this, that would be great," Leon thought. The more respectful Damon Wei was, the less simple Leon felt the situation was.

Grace nodded. "Leon, you're right. Don't be fooled by his friendliness."

"Will he seek revenge?" Serena asked coldly.

"No," Grace smiled. "Leon, what do you think of Commander Wei?"

"I won't presume to comment on such a high-ranking officer, but your conversation with him reminded me of an old saying," Leon replied.
