Chapter 84 - Chapter 84: Night of Slaughter (Part 3)

"You didn't do this all by yourself, did you?" Sienna Tang gasped.

"Next, I need you to trust me," Leon Chen whispered, signaling her to stay quiet. Before Sienna could understand what he meant, Leon blindfolded her with a piece of black cloth.

Sienna realized he was trying to shield her from the gruesome scenes. This small gesture filled her with complex emotions, but she obediently allowed him to proceed.

...

Waland kicked the door open, startling the men playing cards. They stared at their leader's grim expression in shock.

"What's wrong, boss?"

"Someone infiltrated, and six of our men are dead!"

What?

The men sprang to their feet, faces filled with horror.

"Boss, you've got to be kidding!" The black man's smile was forced.

"When have I ever joked about this? I couldn't find the bodies, but they've definitely been taken out," Waland roared. "Idiots, get moving!"

Knowing their leader's temper, the others dared not take it lightly.

"Damn it, kill that woman," the black man snarled, his eyes bloodshot.

"Damn it," Michiel hurried to the small room, finding it empty. Everyone was stunned.

How had she vanished from a room with no exits?

"Unbelievable."

Sounds came from behind the building. They rushed out to see two men shouting at Waland, "Boss, we saw someone taking the woman away!"

"Chase them! Kill them both," Waland commanded.

Everyone attached silencers to their weapons, eyes blazing at the news of their fallen comrades.

These men were skilled, quickly spotting Leon and Sienna escaping through the containers.

Michiel was baffled. How had they gotten out?

Leon tightly held Sienna's hand, making sharp turns.

"We've spotted the rats!" someone yelled, rushing forward.

Leon sidestepped, slipping into an alley.

The men, highly experienced, swiftly set up a killing net. Despite being an amateur, Leon's use of Overlook and Material Penetration allowed him to narrowly evade the net each time.

Blindfolded, Sienna felt like she was floating through clouds, passing through water screens. Several times, she wanted to remove the blindfold to see what Leon was doing, but she bit her lip and held on.

Leon's adept evasion infuriated the pursuers.

Their radios buzzed with reports of sightings and disappearances.

Waland's face turned pale. Their killing net couldn't catch him.

"Who the hell is he?" Michiel was terrified.

"Is he a 'Spiritualist'?" Waland's teeth ground.

"A Spiritualist?"

"Damn it, I encountered one in Afghanistan once. Not a human, but a monster," Waland muttered, visibly shaken. Michiel, a seasoned killer, was scared stiff. "In scientific terms, a fourth-dimensional monster."

Michiel shivered. "No way."

Minutes later, the radio crackled with excitement. "Boss, we've surrounded him."

"Good."

Waland grinned, eager to uncover the mystery.

Seven men encircled an empty container. Waland saw no sign of the target. "Where is he?"

"We cornered him here, but he vanished," the black man's tone was no longer confident.

"Search the container!" Waland ordered coldly.

The black man hesitated but obeyed.

Waland's instincts were correct. Leon and Sienna were inside. The barrage outside sounded like a storm, causing Sienna to curl up as Leon held her close.

"Leon, what's going on?"

Leon smiled wryly. These men were formidable, having cornered him here and sensing their presence inside.

Waland grew impatient, ordering his men to bring axes to break open the iron door.

Using Overlook, Leon assessed the situation outside. It was dire. Six thugs surrounded the container, one burly man hacking with an axe.

Each metallic clang made Sienna shudder.

"I have to go out. Stay here and don't move," Leon instructed, knowing he had to draw them away.

"Don't do anything foolish!" Despite her fear, Sienna, as a teacher, grabbed Leon.

"Don't worry, I won't die. I have a plan," Leon reassured her.

"If you don't act now, we'll both die. My dear teacher," Leon said, seeing Sienna still holding on, emphasizing the severity.

The axe's chopping mixed with curses outside. Sienna bit her lip, saying, "I trust you. If you lie, I'll haunt you even in death."

Leon smiled wryly, touched by Sienna's vulnerable yet captivating appearance.

Just as he was about to leave, Sienna cupped his face, kissing him deeply. The sweet, soft kiss left Leon stunned.

"Don't die!" Sienna whispered, letting go.

"Mm." Though he and Sienna had always been ambiguous, this was the first time Leon's heart truly wavered.

Sienna curled in the corner, fists clenched, listening to the commotion outside. The pressure on the container eased. Normally a non-believer, Sienna prayed to every god she knew.

Please let him be safe, let him be safe...

Leon, of course, wouldn't die. In every aspect, he was prepared. He phased through the weakest point of the container, guarded by one man.

The mercenary was petrified seeing someone emerge from the steel wall. In that moment of shock, Leon swiftly ended his life.

Panic spread among the men, clueless about the enemy's movements. In the ensuing chaos, four bodies lay around the container.

Only Waland and a black man remained.

"You little brat! Come out!" Waland, who had survived countless battles, now faced near annihilation. "Calm down!"

Suddenly, the black man collapsed to his knees.

The pier fell into a dead silence, the moonlight colder than ever.

"Sir, let me see who killed my eleven brothers. At least grant me a quick death," Waland called out into the night.

Receiving no response, Waland grabbed the trembling Michiel, making him translate into Chinese.

Leon had been lurking in the shadows, looking for an opportunity. Unlike the others, Waland's keen instincts made ambushing him difficult.

After careful consideration, Leon decided on the simplest, most direct method. He stepped out of the darkness. Having killed eleven men, he now appeared demonic to anyone.

"Were you looking for me?"

Waland and Michiel were stunned. They couldn't believe that the one who slaughtered them like lambs was so young.
