After everything was over, Shizune happily opened a pack of snacks and began nibbling on them.

Kakashi habitually covered his bandaged eye with his forehead protector.

"Is it over?"

Tsunade pushed open the door and walked in. She glanced at Kakashi and then saw Shizune cheerfully eating snacks. With a look of disdain, she said:

"A pack of snacks is all it takes to satisfy you."

"Would you like some, Lady Tsunade?"

Shizune immediately offered the snacks to her.

"Forget it!"

Does she look like someone who eats snacks?

Tsunade, full of disdain, checked Kakashi's condition and, after confirming there were no issues, dragged Shizune away.

The room fell silent.

Kakashi tiredly collapsed onto the bed, raised his hand, and placed it over his forehead protector and bandaged face, as if afraid someone would take away the last gift left by Obito.

At the Daimyo's mansion, the Daimyo was also eating melon seeds with great interest.

The fact that Konoha's ninjas would attack one of their own and steal the other's Sharingan made for an exciting story.

At least, the Daimyo was enjoying the gossip.

Although Kakashi no longer had the Sharingan and his abilities might be affected, it was still an intriguing story.

Unfortunately, the drama wasn't as juicy as he'd hoped.

After the village took action, the Uchiha clan yielded; at least, that's what the Daimyo thought. The stolen Sharingan was returned and successfully transplanted back into Kakashi.

With Tsunade's efforts and the concessions of the Third Hokage, negotiations between Konoha and the Daimyo's mansion concluded just in time for the Daimyo's gathering.

The arrival of Daimyos from various countries to the Land of Fire was not a small event, making the whole palace lively.

At the city gate, people were crowded, and a long line stretched out as far as the eye could see.

"Why does the Daimyo need so many guards when traveling?"

Jiro could not understand.

This is the ninja world; facing powerful ninjas, no amount of ordinary guards would be of any use. Ordinary guards, no matter how many there are, can't stop a ninja attack.

Yet the Daimyo loved to put on a grand show, always surrounded by a large number of guards and attendants whenever traveling.

"You don't understand; this is called a show."

Sitting on the city wall and watching the Daimyos from various countries enter the city, Kazuki remarked.

The Daimyos of smaller countries were not as extravagant, but the retinues of the Daimyos from the Land of Wind, Land of Earth, Land of Lightning, and Land of Water were quite extravagant.

Not counting attendants and servants, the number of ordinary guards alone could reach the hundreds.

It was easy to imagine the cost of maintaining these people.

With the money to support so many people, they could support a large number of ninjas, but fortunately, the ninja villages of each country wouldn't allow the Daimyo to do so.

Unable to keep too many ninjas, the Daimyos had to maintain a considerable army, mainly for show.

When there's a real problem, they still rely on ninjas.

With the arrival of the Daimyos, the mansion of the Daimyo of the Land of Fire turned into a party venue.

Various delicacies and fine wines had to be delivered in large quantities daily. Beautiful dancers sang and danced all the time, and when they were tired of playing, they would sit down to chat, play cards, and pass the time.

"It seems the conflict between the Daimyo's mansion of the Land of Fire and Konoha Village has been resolved."

At the card table, the Daimyo of the Land of Wind drew a card and deliberately brought up the topic, his tone sarcastic:

"If you ask me, Danzo's guts are too big. If it were Sunagakure, I'd make sure they starved!"

Among the Daimyos of various countries, the Daimyo of the Land of Wind was famous for his bad temper and vengefulness.

He would reduce Sunagakure's development funds if he decided to, making them tighten their belts and constantly reduce the number of ninjas in the village.

Forced to adopt an elite-focused training model.

Sunagakure didn't want to do this, but the Daimyo didn't provide funds, and the Land of Wind was so poor that they only had sand left.

Reluctantly, Sunagakure had to tighten their belts.

It helped that the village's successive Kazekages were skilled at mining, earning some extra money; otherwise, the village's situation would have been even worse.

"It's not just about guts; even the Daimyo dared to be assassinated, and nothing happened."

The Daimyo of the Land of Earth chimed in.

The Daimyo of the Land of Wind might not have other intentions, but merely to provoke the Daimyo of the Land of Fire.

But he was different; he would be happy to see relations between the Daimyo of the Land of Fire and Konoha deteriorate further.

"After all, Danzo and Hiruzen have a good relationship, don't you think?"

The Daimyo of the Land of Lightning laughed and fanned the flames.

Resting nearby, the Daimyo of the Land of Water, being served fruits by maidservants, also laughed.

"Hmph!!"

After being provoked and ridiculed, the Daimyo of the Land of Fire's good mood instantly disappeared.

Even though he knew these people had ulterior motives.

"It seems Hiruzen is really old."

Seeing that the Daimyo of the Land of Fire was holding back his anger, the Daimyo of the Land of Lightning continued to provoke:

"Back during the Third Shinobi World War, he was forced to retire because of inadequate leadership; who would have thought he'd come back? Konoha really has no one left to use."

"While other villages are working hard to train a new generation of figures and strong individuals, Konoha relies on a bunch of old men and old women."

"By the way, I heard Tsunade returned. Doesn't Hiruzen intend to make her Hokage?"

"Or is he too dictatorial?"

"Yes, she has returned. If not for Princess Tsunade personally coming, I wouldn't have given Konoha this face."

The Daimyo of the Land of Fire responded with a cold face, evading the provocative words and trying to keep his emotions in check.

Seeing that the Daimyo of the Land of Fire wasn't angered, the Daimyo of the Land of Water regretfully said:

"It's a pity. We were planning to support you in demanding a reasonable explanation from Konoha, but you resolved it yourself."

"Things like this, if they happen once, they could happen again. Sigh, wasn't it the same with the Hidden Mist Village? The Third Mizukage implemented the Blood Mist policy, and nothing changed under the Fourth, Yagura."

"....."

Could it really happen again?

With the Hidden Mist Village as an example, the Daimyo began to feel unsettled.

Not being able to remove Danzo this time, who can guarantee he won't lash out in anger and actually make an attempt on his life?

People who enjoy wielding power can do anything when they lose their most valuable asset.

Even though the Daimyo tried to calm himself and not be influenced by these relatives and peers, his mindset eventually started to shift.

After all, patience has its limits; continuous needling makes anyone overthink.

Once a thought shifts, it's hard to pull it back.

It seemed Hiruzen really was getting old.

Unknowingly, this thought began to take root in the Daimyo's mind.

Konoha may not have had suitable candidates in the past, but things are different now; Princess Tsunade has returned!

If she becomes Hokage, the Daimyo would be safer, and relations with the village would improve.

In that case, why not make Princess Tsunade the Hokage?

Gradually, this idea began to take root in the Daimyo's mind.
