Chapter 96 - Chapter 95: Behold the Chosen - Part 1

Dao Wei's cultivation reached new heights, and the arena buzzed with excitement. The Supreme Elders and Grand Masters continued their ancient chant, their synchronized voices reverberating across the arena. Their words, ancient and arcane, carried the weight of the Sword God Sect's long history, connecting the chosen Heir to the Sect's ancestors.

Dao Wei was still immersed in his own cultivation, utterly unaware of the unfolding drama. His mind remained deep within his Sea of Qi, the energy within swirling like a violent storm, surging to its limits. But in the outside world, the chants had begun drawing down the blessings of the heavens.

A rumble echoed through the air.

Suddenly, the sky above the arena transformed. Godly and ancient characters began to materialize, glowing like molten gold as they danced across the heavens. The disciples and elders watched in awe as visions of the ancient ancestors of the Sword God Sect emerged, towering figures of immense power that seemed to gaze directly into the heart of the Mortal World.

"Woah!"

"Amazing!"

Gasps filled the arena as everyone witnessed the ethereal display. The younger disciples especially were entranced, their eyes wide with wonder.

"What is really going on?" a disciple whispered.

The visions of Heaven and Earth shifted and changed, unfolded like a dream, showing the more glories of ancient gods and warriors. It felt as if the gods themselves were telling a story, ready to bestow their divine blessings upon Dao Wei.

Inside Dao Wei's Sea of Qi, everything was different. His Sea of Qi was in utter chaos, filled to the brim with a raging storm of spiritual energy. But amidst this chaos, Dao Wei sat cross-legged in a Lotus position, calm yet battling an invisible pressure. His mind focused entirely on stabilizing the overwhelming force that threatened to push him beyond his current realm.

The once placid sea had turned into a tempest, waves crashing against the edges as cracks began to form, pushing his body to its very limits. The sheer magnitude of the godly Qi pouring into him caused his Sea of Qi to tremble violently. Dao Wei's body screamed in protest as his cultivation base was pushed to a point where even his internal world began to crack.

Sweat poured down his forehead, and his teeth clenched tightly. Dao Wei gritted his teeth, struggling to maintain control and prevent an immediate breakthrough.

Back in the arena, Dao Wei stood still, oblivious to the gathering crowd and the murmur of disciples. His face grew paler with each passing second as the godly Qi continued to flood his body. The atmosphere was tense, with the energy radiating off him becoming increasingly unstable.

From her seat, Huang Ling could not bear it any longer. Leaping forth from the Sword Kings' stands, she rushed to Dao Wei's side, grabbing hold of his arm to steady him.

"Young Elder!" she called out, trying to keep him balanced.

Dao Wei's body shook violently as if he were on the verge of collapse.

"Look at him!" a sneering voice broke through the growing tension.

Cheng Fang, always eager to strike at Dao Wei, laughed from across the arena. His mocking tone echoed with disdain.

"The little demon can't even handle a bit of divine energy? This is the so-called Heir of the Sword God Sect?" Cheng Fang sneered louder, drawing the attention of the surrounding disciples.

Whispers spread like wildfire through the arena as disciples exchanged glances, their opinions divided. Some echoed Cheng Fang's contempt, while others stood in defense of Dao Wei, admiring his resolve despite the immense strain.

Inside Dao Wei's Sea of Qi, the situation was growing direr. The cracks along the edges of his Sea of Qi deepened, and the internal pressure reached unbearable levels. Each passing moment felt like a lifetime as Dao Wei endured the immense pain of trying to prolong a breakthrough.

His entire Sea of Qi seemed on the verge of collapse.

"Arrgggh!" Dao Wei screamed internally, the pain coursing through his body like fire. His mental focus wavered as the energy within him threatened to break through his every defense.

Suddenly, in the depths of his agony, the energy shifted. The violent surge of godly Qi transformed, and a thunderous sound echoed across his internal world. His Sea of Qi was consumed by a deafening rumble as if the heavens themselves were answering his suffering.

Boom!

The sound of thunder jolted through Dao Wei's body like a storm. His Sea of Qi shook violently, but instead of destruction, something miraculous occurred. Divine and arcane marks, enormous and glowing with ancient power, materialized in the air above the Sea of Qi. They descended, surrounding the cracks at the edges of the Sea, and, to Dao Wei's astonishment, began mending them.

The healing process was slow but deliberate, each mark sealing the cracks with a divine energy so potent that Dao Wei could feel his entire being evolving. His Sea of Qi, once vast, now expanded further, becoming boundless. Above the surface, drops of pure, refined internal Qi began to form, suspended in the air like raindrops from the heavens.

'This... this isn't normal,' Dao Wei thought, his mind reeling. 'I'm not supposed to be able to reach this stage yet!'

Back in the arena, the disciples were speechless. Dao Wei's body, now enveloped in golden divine light, began levitating off the ground. His eyes remained closed, his expression serene despite the immense power swirling around him.

"W-what is happening?" a disciple asked in shock, their voice trembling.

"He is so handsome!" a female disciple sighed, her cheeks flushed.

"Oh my god, I want to marry the Young Elder!" another girl squealed, hearts practically floating out of her eyes as she gazed at Dao Wei.

The disciples were transfixed, but not everyone shared their enthusiasm.

Cheng Fang's expression darkened, his fists clenching at the sight of Dao Wei's ascension. His mocking sneer was long gone, replaced by frustration and bitterness.

"How can this be?" Cheng Fang muttered under his breath. He could not accept that the Evil Star was receiving blessings from the ancestors themselves. The ancestors who should have favored someone more worthy—someone like him. The jealousy simmered within Cheng Fang, threatening to boil over.

Nearby, Lu Shen the Sect Leader's most trusted disciple, couldn't contain his excitement.

"Hahaha! That's my junior brother!" Lu Shen shouted with pride, his voice booming across the arena. His eyes gleamed with joy as he watched Dao Wei's rise.

Wei Jun moved closer to Lu Shen, an amused grin spreading across his face.

"Senior brother, what do you think Junior Brother's powers will be after this?" Wei Jun asked, though his tone carried a hint of playful curiosity.

"Hard to say. But knowing our junior brother, whatever happens next will be nothing short of legendary." Lu Shen stroked his chin, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "All I know is that I wouldn't want to be his opponent the next time we spar," Lu Shen chuckled, watching as the golden energy around Dao Wei grew more intense.

Back in Dao Wei's Sea of Qi, the transformation was nearing completion. The Boundless Sea was now vast and endless, with new energies flowing in perfect harmony. The divine symbols continued to mend and fortify his Sea of Qi, and Dao Wei felt an indescribable peace and power fill his very soul. His cultivation was no longer simply advancing—it was evolving in ways he never thought possible.

The moment was perfect. He had done it. He had begun stabilizing his realm and fortifying his foundation in the process.

"Humm!!!"

A final thunder reverberated through his Sea of Qi. Dao Wei exhaled deeply, feeling the calm after the storm settled over him.

Huang Ling, still at Dao Wei's side, glanced up at the floating figure of her own out-of-the-fantasy hero, worry etched across her face. 'He's pushing himself too hard… but this energy, it's beyond anything I've ever seen.'

As Dao Wei floated above the arena, golden light swirling around him like a divine halo, the disciples could feel something monumental approaching—a shift in power, a moment that would be remembered for ages.

The sky darkened as thunderclouds gathered overhead, crackling with energy. Dao Wei's body glowed brighter, the divine marks on his Sea of Qi pulsing in rhythm with the energy of the heavens. The arena had gone silent, as every disciple, elder, and guest watched with bated breath.
