Chapter 115: Turn the Tables
Gu Xi thought things were settled, but more trouble was on the way.
Just as the three wraith leaders appeared, sounds came from the functional building Gu Xi was guarding.
Gu Xi turned around and saw numerous white papers flying from nowhere, sticking to the building.
Du Wushuang, who had been missing, was struggling to fend off the attacking papers.
Seeing Gu Xi looking over, Du Wushuang wanted to say he could handle it, but he didn't even have a chance to speak.
Gu Xi realized that their location had become the focal point of the enemy's attack
At least the building behind him was crucial to this battle.
But Gu Xi was puzzled—what was special about this building? Would capturing it turn the tide?
Though he didn't understand what was going on, Gu Xi quickly made a decision.
"Ghosts, go help him. Zombies, defend. Skeleton archers, target the crow heads. Luna!"
As Gu Xi's contracted undead, Luna understood his intentions perfectly. Upon hearing his command, she let out a banshee wail at the red-skinned creature.
The creature, drawn by Luna's scream, lunged towards her.
Luna quickly retreated, swiftly crossing the spot where the Headless Horseman had died.
Luna calculated her movements so precisely that she always stayed one step ahead of the creature. When Luna passed the Headless Horseman's corpse, the creature landed right on it.
At that moment, Gu Xi decisively pointed at the Headless Horseman's corpse.
"Corpse Explosion!"
The Headless Horseman's body exploded just as the creature landed, with its foot on the corpse.
The explosion shattered the Horseman's body and armor, sending shrapnel into the creature.
The creature had a strong life force, and the explosion didn't kill it.
Seeing this, Gu Xi triggered several more corpse explosions nearby.
Unfortunately, most of the slime corpses from the previous battle had already been blown up by Gu Xi, leaving only a few corpses.
After two or three explosions, there wasn't much effect.
At this point, Gu Xi shouted, "Luna!"
Luna immediately understood. She charged forward, bypassing the creature, and flew to Gu Xi's side.
As she passed the creature, she used Frost Touch, turning it ice-blue.
The cold wasn't very strong for this creature, but it could still slow it for one or two seconds.
That was enough time for Gu Xi.
Standing on the Evil Coffin, Gu Xi used its speed to rush to the creature.
"Death Incarnation!"
As the ice melted and the creature tried to move, Gu Xi released the Death Incarnation.
The Death Incarnation lunged from the black mist, biting the creature.
If the creature had been in perfect condition, this would have only severely injured it.
But after the corpse explosions and Luna's Frost Touch, the creature was already very weak.
The Death Incarnation bit into its waist, tearing it in half.
Gu Xi wasn't idle either. He drank a magic potion and smashed the creature's head with the Crushing Staff, denting its skull.

After killing the creature, Gu Xi glared at the old woman and the white-haired warrior, forcing them back a few steps.
Seizing this opportunity, Gu Xi turned his attention to the white papers on the building.
Gu Xi realized that the papers were the key to this battle. The old woman, the white-haired warrior, and the red-skinned creature were all distractions.
Only by dealing with the papers could they resolve the crisis.
Gu Xi raised his hand to the sky, and the Death Incarnation flew into the air.
Simultaneously, the Evil Coffin carried Gu Xi towards the building.
As Gu Xi moved, Luna took command of his troops.
Though Gu Xi had forced the old woman and the white-haired warrior back, they still needed to be on guard.
Now in command, Luna directed the skeleton soldiers to fight the crow-headed warriors.
These crow-headed warriors were as strong as the ghost soldiers Gu Xi had encountered before, but they used spears and wore grass armor.
It was unclear how they trusted such armor, but they did.
When the skeleton soldiers attacked, their weapons effectively damaged the grass armor.
Only the skeleton archers' arrows were less effective against the armor.
Seeing this, Luna redirected the archers to target the old woman.
Under Luna's command, the skeleton archers advanced, almost reaching the front lines.
The concentrated fire was effective, forcing the old woman to keep moving, unable to rely on her root defense net.
The archers then switched to a rain of arrows, covering a large area.
The old woman couldn't escape this attack. Though she survived, her long-legged cauldron mount was pinned down.
Another wave of concentrated fire killed the old woman before she could drink her potions.
