Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Clouds are heavy

AUDREY

Clouds are heavy. It'll surely pour heavy rain today.

"Don't forget to bring your umbrella!" Mom yelled before we even got outside the house. Before we know it, the rain start pouring.

"Gross" Harvey said upon opening the neon pink umbrella our mom gave us. I snorted.

"Yeah, gross" I agreed. Looking at the glittery neon pink umbrella makes my stomach hurt.

"Hold it" Harvey. I made a face and grab the umbrella. He uses his hoodie and runoff. Leaving me with this shitty eye blinding umbrella. I hop inside the car and Carter did start teasing me about the umbrella. I knew it.

"Stop it, Carty. Snow white might really gave you something to cry for if you keep teasing her like that" Harvey said. I smirked at Carty at the reflection on the mirror.

"Eh?" Carty's a bit confused.

"..." I kept my mouth shut.

Harvey and Carter start talking about sports again and that ended the umbrella shit. Evan and Kirko joined the car when we crossed the first street near the capitol.

"What happened?" Harvey asked when he noticed Kirko and Evan's shirt were a mess. Evan's have a small rip on his shoulder.

"Oh, it's nothing" Evan answered like it's really nothing.

"You didn't brawl into the mud are you?" Harvey said. Carter snorted.

"Nope. Definitely not. They took care of something annoying... right, Kirko?" Carter said. Interfering their conversation. Kirko agreed and nod. There's a few mud on the end of their pants and their shirt but I can't say they brawl on mud. But that definitely made them look kinda of dirty. We arrived an hour early at the University.

"I'll go fetch some drinks" Carter said and tugging Kirko and Evan with him. Harvey bid goodbye and went to his class. I went to my class alone. It's vacant. The classroom is vacant. There's no student yet. Just me. I put my bag on my table and opened the blinds. I almost had a heart attack after turning my back from opening the blinds, Dylan is sitting on his spot. I clutch my chest. I seriously felt my heart skip a fucking beat!

"Are you seriously trying to kill me?" I asked. Almost hissing at the guy. He tilted his head and looked at me.

"Me? Trying to kill you?" He said. Innocently.

"..."

"I'm not trying anything. Maybe you should start decreasing your caffeine intake..." he said and start putting his books on his table. I didn't talk back and just went back opening the remaining blinds. After opening the blinds, Carter entered the room. Good timing.

"Too early, West? Felt any excitement about heavy cloud aren't you?" Carter said. He's not warm. He doesn't sound nice. More like taunting Dylan. I looked at the man besides me. He slowly, gracefully flipped the next page of the book he's reading. The corner of his lips turned upward.

"Nope. I hate heavy rains, it smells...dog" He said not even giving Carter a glance. My eyebrows shot up. Smells dog? Who smells like dog? This jerk.

"Oh? Too sensitive, West? Whatever the dogs smell under the pouring rain, you should be thankful. Because you can't enjoy sunny days eh?" Carter said. That makes the jerk laugh. Dylan is laughing. I almost drop my jaw by looking at this man. He's utterly beautiful. This is so unfair.

"You can have all the fun under the sun, Smith. It's not like I want to waste my time" Dylan said.

"Tsk. Anyway, can you handle your own shit?" Carter said. In a serious tone "well, if you can't handle your shit, somebody else has to" Carter said, Dylan stopped from reading and looked at Carter. He placed his chin on his right palm. His ocean blue eyes seems darker now. I can clearly see it from his side. In this angle I can see his perfect side angle. Annoying.

"I can assure you that I handle my own shit very well, Smith" Dylan said smiling at Carter. The smile seems cold.

"Shit show" I murmured and put my earphones on. I didn't see that Dylan gave a side glance upon hearing what I said. I remained silent and kept my ears plugged the whole waiting time for the professor. I don't want to hear any conversation between these two grown up dudes in the middle. It feels awkward. To be honest, it's like there's a silent war between this two and I don't want to be caught up in between.

After the professor leave the room, I'm about to put my ear plugs when Dylan suddenly pulls the wire and it snaps into two. I stared at my poor earphones. Torn.

"What's wrong with you?" I said.

"..." he didn't say anything. When I looked back to Dylan he's staring at me.

"What?" I asked. Irritated "Do you have to pull my earphones?" I asked. I see red. This jerk.

"Kids nowadays are rude" he said staring at me, or should I say looking down on me. I scoffed.

"Yes, I agree. Some kids are way too rude to just pull someone else plugs" I said. Checking my earphones if it's still working "Damn it" I cursed.

"Audrey, let's---" Carter came close and notice the wires I'm looking at. The right one is still working. But of course, the left won't since it's torn "what happened to your plug?" He gently asked. I made a face.

"Nothing..." I said. I don't know how Carter will react if I tell him that this pale boy just pulled my plugs and snapped one of it's wire.

"Do you want to borrow mine?" Carter asked. I immediately look up to him. Thinking.

"Hmm, that's tempting but no. Thank you" I declined. I don't want to try, what if this jerk snapped Carter's plug? I don't think I can stop these two from throwing punches. I don't personally know how Carter's patience when it comes to this jerk, uh no. I don't want to gamble my peace over a mere plug.

After the class, I noticed that Dylan were the first to leave the room. Immediately. That's unusual. He's a slowpoke. He's always like a statue. Just looking at the professor. Not even taking down notes. But today, he immediately stoop up and walked out of the room. I'm in the middle of my curiosity when I remember my plug.

"Fuck"

I wait near Carter's car with my brother after class. Carter went to fetch some books with Kirko and told us to give them only a few minutes and they'll be back.

"Who's that?" My brother asked out of nowhere. Out of curiosity. I looked who is it. It's Dylan. He's with someone. There are two guys with him. Tall, neatly looking and pale as him. We can't fully see their faces since they're under a huge black umbrella. They have same good built as Dylan.

"They're Dylan's brother..." Carter said.

"Nice! Now, let's go home!" Harvey excitedly said as Carter and Kirko came back with books. The boys went to the car first. I followed them but my eyes didn't leave Dylan's brothers.
