Chapter 26 - Music Island (2/2)

Eldin Volcano.

"So it was somewhere here at the top..." Vexalia muttered to herself, taking a look around, "Mistress, if memory serves correct, the pinwheel should be on a cliff." Fi recalled to help, "Cliff huh?" Vexalia repeated, going to every cliff that came to mind.

After a while, Vexalia went down a sand slide and finally found the pinwheel, "About time!" She exclaimed, "Fi! You know what to do!" She told her companion, "Yes Mistress." Fi confirmed and sent a signal to call the robot.

Glancing at the sky, the two saw the robot fly down and towards them, "Fi my beloved<3 and... Veiny..." He greeted, clearly displeased with the second, "Veiny...?" Vexalia muttered in confusion, "So this is what you need me to bring up? Okay! I'll wait in the sky." Scrapper informed as he grabbed the pinwheel and flew up.

"...Fi you don't love him right?" Vexalia asked the sword spirit who responded, "I wasn't made to feel emotions... Or at least I thought so..." Fi said sounding quite a bit disturbed, "Glad we got that clerared up, let's go finish the puzzle." Vexalia said as she went to the nearest statue.

Skyloft.

Vexalia jumped off her loftwing next to the broken windmill where she saw Jakamar standing near it, "Hey Jaka! I got the pinwheel!" Vexalia told him as Scrapper dropped said pinwheel nearby, "Wow! So that thing actually works?" He asked, recognizing the robot, "Well yeah." Vexalia confirmed as Jakamar got to work.

The repair only took a couple of hours, during which Vexalia took a nap, and when she woke up she saw that Jakamar had left already, "Alrighty!" She exclaimed before blowing at the pinwheel, making the windmill spin to face the other.

Now that the windmills where in position, nothing happened, "...So..." Vexalia said in confusion, "Mistress, I believe you misheard the riddle, the windmills are supposed to face the tower." Fi corrected making Vexalia let out a yell.

When the windmills faced the correct target, the top of the tower rose and revealed some kind of shrine that held a mirror, "Good!" Vexalia exclaimed quickly making her way to the tower to figure out the next step.

At the top the floor looked exactly like the the platform where the old woman taught Vexalia to play the lyre, so she proceeded to take the lyre out and Fi jumped out of the sword and in front of the mirror, "Mistress, this process requires a specific song, please play along with me. "She instructed.

As the two played, a light started coming out from holes in the floor and the windmills suddenly shot light beams towards the mirror, causing it to focus and get shot into the cloud dome creating an opening, "...It's... Open..." Vexalia said in stupefaction before jumping off the tower to the plaza where everyone gathered.

"Vexalia that- was that you?" Fledge questioned, having saw her jump from the tower, "Y-yeah..." She confirmed, still in shock from the sight, "This is... Incredible... Could that mean the dome is going to disappear?" Fledge suggested, "Hopefully not, forget chuchus, can you imagine what monsters appeared in that thing?" Vexalia pointed out, feeling a little afraid.

"...Aren't you supposed to go in there?" Fledge pointed out, "Fuck." Vexalia simply said as she headed to the edge of Skyloft to take flight.

Inside the Dome.

Following the beam casted by the mirror, Vexalia ended up finding an island that had a rotating puzzle on it and nearby a building of some kind, "You got to be kidding me!" She lamented, "Mistress, your heartbeat accelerated by at least 300%." Fi informed, "That's cause. I hate. This kind. OF PUZZLE!!" Vexalia yelled as her veins began burning from the accelerated blood flow.

As proof of her hate, an hour passed and the puzzle was the furtherst away from being completed than it was at the start, "Mistress, your heartbeat is stedily incrasing, I would suggest taking a break." Fi suggested, "No, the sooner I finish this, the sooner I can take an ACTUAL REST!" Vexalia said in irritation.

At the two hour mark, Vexalia froze, "Mistress are you alri-" Fi was asking, but then all of Vexalias veins exploded out of her and even rooted into the ground, which destroyed all the mechanisms, but also caused a bridge to come out of the island and connect to the building, "...Did... Did I do that?" Vexalia asked as she came out of the daze.

"It appears that your biology adapted to your altered emotional state and triggered something to circumvent the puzzle." Fi hypothesised, "So it's something I was always able to do?" Vexalia questioned further, but Fi didn't respond, "Right, I guess I'm going in." Vexalia deduced and crawled through an opening to enter the building.

When inside, the first thing they noticed was an emblem of the Goddess much like the ones before, so Vexalia did the same as every other emblem, activating it with a skyward strike and causing a statue of the Goddess to rise and begin singing.

As it spoke, Fi came out of the sword, "Mistress, when you struck the emblem, a memory left by the Goddess awakened in my mind." She informed before she narrated the memory.

He who seeks the sacred flames, listen well, for I guide you from my place at the edge of time. The sacred flames are three in number. To obtain them, you must also earn relics known as the three sacred gifts. For each trail you overcome, you shall be blessed with one of the gifts… Fi: Make use of the power of these gifts, and you will find your way to the purifying sacred flames. Now, I bestow unto you a melody. It will serve you as a key, opening the first trail that awaits you deep in the wilds of Faron Woods.

At the cue, Vexalia pulled out the Lyre and began playing along the song that the statue sung, until she got it embedded into her mind, "This song is registered in my records as Farore's Courage, it'll allow you to find one of the three sacred flames." Fi explained, "Sacred flames?" Vexalia repeated, "They are the flames that contain the power of the creators of the world, they're what you need to open the Gate of Time." Fi elaborated.

Vexalia nodded at that and got out of the building ready to head to the only place that was even remotely similar to the song.
