Inside the church of preservation, the believers of preservation were currently inside, one of them was the most famous. Said to be the one who brought the future to the world.
Inside, Lucy can be seen training at the training grounds built for the paladins and the swordmasters that are believers of the God of Preservation. She continues to train while the others are inside church. Then, a servant of the church, a sister and young nun, approached her.
"Saint Lucy. I humbly ask for you're attention." The nun bowed to Lucy, a show of respect.
"Please, no need to bow. But do make it quick, sister. I have my daily training to be done." Lucy replied with a kind tone.
"It...have you...and the other saints, sent a fellow believer to the town of Bellwood?" The nun asked.
This revelation confused Lucy greatly. If they were to send, or atleast one of them did, all of the saints would've known, especially Alheim, the temporary leader of the saints. Lucy rubbed the edge of her chin, showinf a gesture of thoughts running around.
"Sending a believer. I believe we did no such thing, dear sister. Is there a problem there at the town of Bellwood?" Lucy asked.
"I...suppose so...If it's true that you sent none...then I believe we may have a impersonator at the town of Bellwood." The nun said.
Lucy, upon hearing this, nearly broke the handle of her training saber in half. The rage she felt can be felt, even by the sister herself. The young nun can be seen, shaking her entire body while bowing to the saint Lucy.
"...Someone actually dares to use the name of preservation in vain, huh!? Who is this heathen!?" Lucy asked the nun.
"H-he goes by the name of...Ca-Cain! A cle-cleric, miss Saint!" The shaky tone of the nun was a clear indication of her fear.
As soon as she heard that name, her eyes went wide eyed. Cain. A familiar name to her. An all too familiar name to her. She gritted her teeth in shock as she heard the name of Cain.
"...Cain...his still alive!?" She shouted.
This time, her tone was not out of anger, but out of desperation, as if she wanted to confirm that Cain was truly alive. She held the nun by the shoulders.
"Ye-yes, miss Saint! The boy had the features of a boy who wore a priest robe, complimenting his brown hair and blue eyes." The nun said.
"...He really is alive." Lucy said.

In the same city that Cain was staying, it has been a month since he was taking refuge here in the town, being an adventurer, and carrying out her mother's orders.
Cain can be seen, eating some steak via the meal he ordered from the bar side of the adventurers guild's counter. He ate with a fork and knife in hand as he talks with his mother.
"This is quite delicious. If you're given the chance, you should come down and eat with me some time." Cain took a chunk of cooked steak and ate it.
Many of the adventurers inside all see Cain as a crazy cleric who talks to someone he calls mother. Clearly a sign of mental problems to them, but not to Cain.
"I know mother. No need to angry for me. Just ignore the other people." Cain said, taking a fork-stabbed piece of stake and ate it up.
Cain was trying to find ways. Ways to further show and make humanity remembee death. At this age, magic has grown so far that de-aging spells have been created, making death an inconvenience or a skill issue in a dire situation rather than inevitability.
Because of this, nobody feared death anymore. He doesn't want his mother's vision to be forgotten. That's why he kills. Kill those who he deems are deserving of death. Death not cruel or petty in nature, it depends how the one giving out death can it be petty.
"Seriously. This generation of magic users are quite something." Cain took a mug of apple juice and shoved the liquid all down his throat.
"..."
"I know mother. Death won't be forgotten! I will assure it!" He raised his arms high, holding a jug.
However, after a good while, two armed men, that seemingly came from the church, entered the adventurer's guild and on to the counter for guild registrations.
"Hello, how may we, the adventurers guild help?" The clerk asked the men.
"We are looking for an adventurer named Cain. Is he here, by any chance?" One of the men asked.
"Why yes. He is currently over there. Talking to himself." The clerk pointed her finger at Cain's table.
Cain merely took another sip of his jug of apple juice and stared back at the knights of the church. He narrowed his eyes and maybe thought that hin being a Cleric of Preservation, had gone out to the main branch.
The 2 armed and armored men approached Cain, exuding aura of importance and light with how shiny annd light-reflective their armor is.
"Mr. Cain...we humbly ask you to come with us. The church wishes for you're presence."
Cain just looked at them, a bit confused and worried. Did they already find out? Cain knew he had to accept. He did disguise himself to be a fellow believer of Preservation.
"Expect me to be there after my meal, fine sirs."
"Very well. We expect to see you at the front of the church of preservation, Mr. Cain." The knigh said.
With that, the two knights left Cain to his eating endeavors. Cain was curious. Why the suddent summoning? Did they find out? Is there something they wanted from an adventurer? All he can do is follow through and...take a look.

In the city, where Cain was in, the church of preservation, is where we can see a rather, well-kept man, with goggles hanging from him. He is seen, sitting down on the entrance's footsteps as the two knights arrive.
"He Who Preserves Humanity's Future. Someone like you shouldn't out here on the steps, sire." The knight said.
"And who says that? I am free to sit here whenever and howevee I want. I abide to no norms but my own." The man said.
"You must reconsider, you are exoecting a gue-"
"It will be up to him wether he accepts who I am. I don't need to change just to satisfy another human. Humanity will remain the same if we allow ourselves to be shackled like these...gods." The man said.
"...As you wish then...Sir Nikola." The knight said before bowig down to Nikola.
"Fufufufu. These gods can shackle any human they want. Just they wait, I'll lead humanity to a future without reliance but our own." Nikola vowed.
