When Lan was still in the Capital.
Sometimes 2-3 nights a week at night, Lan would go into the kitchen to steal a large amount of food and wear a mask she got from the castle to hide her identity, then sneak out of the castle to enter the residential area. She had been doing this since the first week she arrived.
Every day she went to different areas in the residential area, because the Capital was so large, she had to travel a lot and distribute for a long time. There were days when she returned almost dawn, but thanks to her speed, the power of her crystal and the conversion of the large amount of magic power she had into energy, she kept her strength up throughout the day. Gradually her speed increased, allowing her to go to more places and return much sooner. While distributing food, Lan also cleared up the dark corners of the city, and used magic to heal the people. Although her healing ability was not as good as Hoa's, she still helped them a lot. Every civillain in the capital was extremely grateful to Lan, but they could not know her identity.
On the last night she was in the Capital, she also snuck out. While going to each place to distribute food, she met the man who had tried to steal the child's food on the first day she arrived there.
The man saw her and approached her, immediately kowtowed, and cried to thank her:
"I sincerely thank you very much, young lady. Not only did you provide free food, but you also treated my daughter, thanks to which she has become much healthier."
Lan shyly replied: "Oh, it's nothing, please stand up quickly. I just do what I want to do."
The man continued: "The day you came to treat my daughter, I was not home because I had to transport things for the court, so I was given extra food. So I couldn't thank you that day, but only heard rumors about you to identify you. However, it seems that you are the person who stopped me from stealing food from a child that day. Your voice and demeanor cannot be wrong. Once again, I sincerely thank you for helping my family and thank you for stopping me that day."
Lan suddenly thought: "Oh, I've been discovered, then I must run away quickly."
However, as soon as she turned to run to another place, she saw that there were two guards on patrol who had been standing there looking at her for who knows how long.
They observed her and looked at the bag of things she was carrying, as if they understood something, they turned away and pretended not to see her.
"We've been hearing reports that a lot of food has been stolen from the castle lately, I wonder which little rat would dare to steal from the castle." - A guard spoke to the other as if Lan wasn't there
"I agree, but that little rat seems to be quite kind, it seems like it brought food to the poor people here. I wonder if I should catch it." - The other guard replied.
Recognizing the guard's hint, Lan quickly took the man with her and ran to another place. She stuffed a portion of food into his hand, said nothing and continued to go to another place to distribute food.
After that, she successfully returned to the castle, on her way back to her room, she looked out the window and saw Hoa and Tuan still practicing outside in the yard, perhaps because they were so stressed about the upcoming trip that they couldn't sleep. Seeing her friends so determined and hardworking, Lan smiled and immediately jumped straight to them (she jumped from the 3rd floor). There was a thick cloud of dust, making Hoa and Tuan surprised: "Oh, what's going on!!?"
"Hey, don't sneak out to practice like that, you two. Let me practice with you, I can't sleep either." - Lan said happily.
Tuan said with a surprised look: "Oh Lan, you jumped down from that window over there. Don't scare us like that."
Hoa: "And we called you earlier but you didn't answer. I thought you went to bed early to get your spirits up."
Lan was confused, and said: "O-oh, really. I probably went to the bathroom earlier so I didn't know. Anyway, let's practice together."
And then the three of them practiced together until almost dawn.
In the morning, as everyone was being seen off, the guards and servants all looked at Lan with affectionate eyes and smiles on their faces.
"It seems like there won't be any little rats sneaking food anymore. What a pity."
