Chapter 9 - Preparations

After our tense encounter with Zeddacus, Luna, Elysia, and I returned to the condo. The revelation that my only hope of breaking the curse was Alex, the arrogant heir of the Silverwood pack, weighed heavily on us. Determined to make the best of our time, we decided to get the bowl running.

"Luna, we need to infiltrate the Silverwood family," Elysia said, looking directly at Luna. Her tone was serious, and the weight of their mission hung heavily in the air. "at least we have to get Glo close to your cousin, and if it works as this wierd wizard said, Glo gets to live and at the same time fall in love with the man of her dreams" she said with a smile on her face.

Luna, who had been earlier ecstatic, now seemed hesitant. The mention of her family brought a shadow over her usually bright demeanor. "I... I know that's a good idea," she said quietly.

Elysia, always perceptive, immediately understood. Luna had always been the black sheep of the werewolf clan, and the thought of returning to her family under such circumstances was daunting. "Luna, I know it's hard, but you are our best chance," Elysia said quietly

The next morning, I am in front of my magically displayed calendar, as I marked one day off. It was already 107 days until my 25th birthday, the day the Hawthorne curse was set to claim my life. I sighed deeply, feeling the weight of the approaching deadline.

As I kept staring at the calendar, lost in my thoughts, Luna walked down the stairs, her footsteps light but purposeful. "Hello," she greeted, noticing the pensive look on my face. "Why are you so down?"

I glanced up at Luna, my expression heavy with worry. "It's just... it's only 107 days until my 25th birthday," I murmured. "I'm running out of time."

Luna nodded sympathetically but quickly switched to a more upbeat tone. "So, I got to talk to my aunt this morning," she said, trying to lift the mood. "She mentioned the Silverwood party. It's an installation ball where my cousin, Alex, you know, will be installed as the alpha of our pack."

My eyes widened slightly at the mention of the event. "So we are attending the party, right?" I asked, a mix of curiosity and determination in my voice.

"Yes, Glo," Luna confirmed with a nod, trying to muster as much enthusiasm as possible. "We're going."

I sighed again but this time with a glimmer of hope. "Maybe this will be our chance," I said, mostly to myself. "Our chance to figure out how to break this curse."

Luna smiled encouragingly. "We'll make it work, Glo. We'll find a way."

"Firstly, let's get to talk to your cousin, Alex," I said, making air quotes with her fingers. Luna, though more ecstatic than before, couldn't help but feel a bit of apprehension.

"You know, I should be the one feeling down," Luna said with a wry smile. "I have to face my entire family, remember? The black sheep returns." We both chuckled at the thought.

"Well, we're in this together," i replied, squeezing Luna's hand. "We'll deal with Alex and your family. One step at a time."

Luna smiled, her spirits lifted by my determination. "You're right. Let's go crash that party and make some waves."

"A party, you said?" Elysia floated into the room, her ethereal presence adding an air of mystery to the conversation.

"Yeah, an installation ball for Alex," Luna replied, rolling her eyes slightly. "He's being installed as the alpha of our pack."

Elysia's eyes lit up with excitement. "That sounds like the perfect opportunity to get close to him! You know, with all the mingling and socializing."

I nodded, a determined look on my face. "Exactly. It's our chance to make an impression and figure out how to get him to help us."

"Well, count me in," Elysia said, her voice full of enthusiasm. "I love a good party, especially one filled with supernatural drama."

Luna continued, "But first, we have to do the most important thing of the meeting: shopping!"

She grinned widely, her excitement infectious. I and Elysia couldn't help but share in her enthusiasm.

"Yay!" we all exclaimed in unison, our voices echoing with newfound energy.

We, three friends quickly dispersed to get ready for our shopping spree. I grabbed my purse and double-checked my spellbook, ensuring I had everything I might need. Elysia floated around, making a mental list of the items we'd need to make a splash at the party. Luna, already halfway out the door, shouted back at them, "Hurry up, you two! We need to find the perfect outfits to make the night unforgettable!"

As they regrouped and headed out, the anticipation of the upcoming party and their mission to win over Alex filled the air with excitement.
