2008 Karting circuit near Gangnam District , Korea
My dad finally let me race and practice
In a competition of beginners , other children and young teenagers participated
And....
It was just as I imagined , not even starting the race I already felt the excitement that I craved for so long.
"Son , are you ready?"
My father said , meanwhile I was having a problem...
"Dad! Help me! I cant get this stupid suit on!"
My father laughed as he helped me wear the suit on.
"Min-soo , you havent even raced yet and you're having a hard time already?"
And I was embarrassed
"Just help me get this suit on dad! Its almost Qualifying!"
"Okay okay , look Min-soo... even if you do bad here its alright... its your first time , dont be too hard on yourself..."
"I know dad , I already know how to win!"
"I know... but just dont take it too seriously okay?"
"Okay dad..."
'Announcer'
"All of the participants please gather around the starting line for a brief meeting , It is to explain the rules of this race and the general sportmanship code"
"Go son , I wish you luck..."
"I dont need luck dad... I have god by my side"
"Then Godspeed my son"
"Thank you dad"
As I went to the starting line for the meeting , I waved goodbye to my dad
'Event organiser'
"The rules to this competition is quite simple
No hitting other karts intentionally , follo the flag rules wich is Yellow Flag means theres a accident ahead of you and you need to slow down , Red Flag wich indicates the race have been postponed because of an accidebt , Green Flag indicates that you can race at normal speed again after yellow flags
Chequered Flag it means that the race have ended and thats pretty much the general rules for our competition if you dont follow these rules that have been stated you may be prone to time penalties or even disqualification , As the majority of the racers here are still juniors make sure that you put on your helmet right to avoid injuries and in 10 minutes the qualifying will start so get ready and prepare yourselfs..."
As the briefing ended all I thought was the races that I watched many times and how I will experience a familiar feeling to that although not as fast , it is still exciting
'Announcer'
"All of the participants please bring your karts to the starting line as we will start qualifying"
And when that announcement came
I stood up and went to my kart and I just stared at it for 30 second trying to get my self into the zone
"Oy kid!"
"Huh?"
"What yer doin? Spacing out like you an idiot"
"W-What?"
"Eh it was useless talking to a monkey like you"
"Who are you?"
"Oh yer know english? I thought you monkeys dont know how to speak english..
My name is Eric Magloosen"
"Eric Maglussen? Ive never heard of you"
"What!?!? No way youve never heard if me?!? My dad is Kevin Magloosen!"
"Who is that?"
"W-What Y-You! My dad is a legend in the Karting league!!"
"Sorry I dont know much about the karting league , I only know Formula X drivers"
With a smug look in his face
"My dad will be one day a Formula X driver , and he will be a champion I know it!"
"Yeah Yeah... (this guy is too cocky)"
"What did you say?"
"Oh nothing *faking smile*"
"Hmmm... you... You better get out of my way or youll experience the of the viking!!!"
"Okay....."
As we lined up on the starting line this guy was staring at me
'Eric magloosen'
"*mouthing* You're dead"
"What the hell is wrong with that guy..."
And as the lights started to count and that encounter of Eric... I didnt know that it would be the start of our rivalry...
