Chapter 28 - DOUBLE THE AMOUNT.

How sweet of the little girl. Her wish was the joy of her parents. Now that was really sweet.

Wish my sisters were like her. Instead they just always get on my nerves knowing i can't do anything bout it cause they were sure my dad would kill me if I raised a finger on them. I was dearly warned anytime i even raised my voice at them even if they were the ones who were at fault. My dad never joked with his daughters. Not for a second.but that wasn't the point now though.

I would be terrible of me if I didn't do anything after making the little girl pass through such an emotional moment.

So I decided to try to make her as happy as I can. I asked for her dads account number.

Hey Brent let me have your account number I said as I got up pulling my phone from my hoodie pocket.

You don't have to worry lad you can save that for yourself I think you'll need it more. He said as he carried Emmy on his shoulder.

Those words were enough for me to withdraw my actions but I wasn't doing it for him so …

Just call it for me I'm not doing it for you I'm doing it for my friend Emily.I said as I opened my account. Just looking at my balance madd me feel good at the moment. But still my rage towards Amara and my worry of loosing the witch still overcame any other feeling in me.

Come on man be fast about it I have a lot I need. Attend to now don't you waste my time man. I said.

He hesitated but after exchanging glances with his wife he called the goddamn account number for me.

I wan about to transfer a million but wanted to make sure to know how much he needed. So I stopped to ask first.

So how much is Emily's school fees. Also add the rent and every bills you haven't attended to.

I said

Brent chuckled giving me a hood look from head to toe.

Okay if you want to know then there is no harm in telling you I guess he said then dropped Emily down and had a seat. Il just start from scratch Emily's feed which is about thirteen thousand, then her uniform which is about …. He trailed off again.

Great, thank you for letting me know! I'll make sure to use her name in the scene. Here's the revised continuation:

"Double the amount?! You...you can't be serious!" Brent exclaimed, his eyes fixed on the transfer amount in disbelief.

I smirked, my expression relaxed. "Dead serious, Brent. Consider it a gift from me to Emily. And you know why? Because she's a sweet kid, and she deserves it. Now, don't go thinking you can pay me back or anything, got it? This is just me being a good Samaritan."

Franca looked at me in awe, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you...thank you so much!"

Brent's gaze narrowed, his curiosity getting the better of him. "You know, I've been wondering...you're clearly a man with a lot of resources, but why do you dress like...that?"

I raised an eyebrow, my expression unchanging. "Like what?"

Brent gestured to my outfit, his tone cautious. "Well, you're wearing a hoodie and sneakers. You don't exactly look like a millionaire."

I chuckled, my eyes glinting with amusement. "That's because I don't need to show off, Brent. I know what I'm worth, and that's all that matters. Besides, this is just my comfort zone. I don't need fancy clothes or jewelry to feel good about myself."

Franca smiled warmly, her eyes crinkling at the corners. "I think it's refreshing, actually. You're not like most people we know, who flash their wealth around like it's going out of style."

I smiled back at her, my expression softening. "Thanks, Franca. I think I'll take that as a Complement".

I turned to Emily, who was watching me with wide eyes. "Hey, kiddo, I gotta go now, but I'll be back, okay? And if you need anything else, you just tell Mommy and Daddy to call me, got it?"

Emily nodded, her face lighting up with a smile. "I got it! Thank you, mister!"

I smiled back at her. "No problem, Emily. You're a great kid. Take care, and I'll see you around."

I turned to Brent and Franca. "Thanks for the help, guys. I owe you one."

Brent nodded. "No problem, man. We'll get you out of here safely."

He led me to the back door, which opened into a small alleyway. "This way, man. It's clear."

I nodded, following him out into the alley. As we walked, I turned to Brent. "Thanks again, man. I appreciate it."

Brent clapped me on the back. "No problem, man. Just take care of yourself, and don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything."

Here's the continuation:

As I turned to leave, Brent called out to me. "Hey, wait up!"

I turned back to him, curious. "What's up, Brent?"

He hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Listen, I didn't want to get involved in your business with Amara, but...I can see how important it is to you. And I gotta admit, I'm grateful for what you did for Emily. So, I'll give you the address. But be warned, man, going after Amara is dangerous. She's not someone to be trifled with."

I nodded, my expression serious. "I appreciate the warning, Brent. But I have to do this."

Brent nodded, his eyes understanding. "I know. Just be careful, okay?"

He handed me a piece of paper with the address on it. I took it, my heart racing with anticipation.

"Thanks, Brent. I owe you one."

Brent smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "No problem, man. Just be careful. And take care of yourself."

He stepped forward, his arms opening wide. "And thanks again for the money, man. It's going to change our lives for good."

I smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Brent. I hugged him back, clapping him on the back.

"No problem, Brent. Take care of yourself and your family."

We parted ways, and I made my way back to my car, the address burning a hole in my pocket. I knew what I had to do. I was going after Amara.

She just messed with the wrong guy!
