Chapter 195: Treasure Chest Harvest [2]

____

There wasn't much to say about the money, suit, dagger, or women's underwear—they were all ordinary items.

Aoki looked over the last two items: the special lollipop and the Wind Spirit Boots. The lollipop was simply wrapped in plain white plastic, with no branding or label.

"Specially made? Could it be what I'm thinking?"

He unwrapped a lollipop and popped it into his mouth.

A rich, creamy flavor filled his senses.

Aoki's expression froze.

How long had it been? How long had it been since he last tasted food?

A simple, pure joy stirred in his heart.

The sensation of tasting something delicious was incredible!

He felt like he owed the one-star chest an apology for dismissing it so quickly.

The one-star treasure chest was no trash at all! Even if it held nothing else of value, it was worth it just for this special lollipop.

What if he could get other foods out of it next time?

Aoki carefully stored the remaining lollipops and turned his attention to the final item.

Wind Spirit Boots.

The boots had a green base with swirling wind patterns embroidered on the surface. They felt like leather and were remarkably light in his hands.

Aoki's eyes grew curious, and he murmured, "What an unexpected equipment drop!"

The Wind Spirit Boots weren't just ordinary footwear—they had magical properties. When worn, they could slightly enhance speed and agility.

Wasn't this true equipment?

After inspecting them for a moment, Aoki put them on immediately.

Since becoming the Demon King, he could change his clothes at will and hadn't worn real footwear for a long time.

The boots, initially a bit large, adjusted to fit his feet perfectly as soon as he put them on.

They were incredibly comfortable.

Neither too loose nor too tight, they felt light and soft, fitting the contours of his feet exactly.

They were more comfortable than any other shoes he'd worn, including the ones he could summon.

However, he quickly discovered a disappointing drawback.

It wasn't that the Wind Spirit Boots lacked any special effect—but the effect was barely noticeable.

"Is it because the quality is too low?"

Aoki considered this thoughtfully.

After all, the Wind Spirit Boots came from a one-star treasure chest.

And given his current strength, even without entering the "ultimate form," he was already at a solid three-star level.

It was like a character around level 35 or 36 wearing equipment suitable for levels 7 or 8—the effect would understandably be minimal.

Still.

The comfort alone made them worthwhile.

Anyone who valued performance knew how crucial good shoes were.

Moreover, even though the quality of a one-star chest was limited, once the "Spirit of Vengeance" leveled up, he'd be able to open higher-quality treasure chests with much better equipment.

There was real promise here!

Overall, the one-star treasure chests had started out underwhelming but ended on a high note.

Aoki turned to the last remaining chest.

This was the only two-star treasure chest he'd obtained on this journey.

The results from the one-star chests had made him even more excited.

However, he braced himself for possible disappointment.

Even though the one-star chests yielded the Wind Spirit Boots and special lollipops, there had still been some junk items, like the women's underwear.

[Opened a Revenge Chest (2 stars) and received a bottle of healing potion.]

"Healing potion? A red potion? This is useless to me."

Aoki was initially unimpressed, but as he examined the bottle more closely, he realized it wasn't quite what he'd expected.

It wasn't the kind of medicine that restored health in a game. As the name suggested, it was a medicine meant to cure diseases.

A true panacea.

Highly unscientific, of course.

But then, the system itself wasn't bound by science.

The only issue was...

"It's still useless to me!" Aoki shook his head.

He didn't get sick, ever.

With his current physical condition, if he did fall ill, even something from a two-star treasure chest wouldn't likely help.

Still, it wasn't a bad item.

He didn't need it, but there were others who might. And if not, it could be a valuable item for trading.

The Whitebeard Pirates seemed like a good option.

Though, considering Whitebeard's strength, which must be at least four stars, he wasn't sure if this potion would be effective for him.

All in all, his main focus now was to level up quickly and raise the "Spirit of Vengeance."

"Almost there!"

Aoki tucked the healing potion away.

One more level-up would give him the five free skill points he needed.

The requirements for upgrading "Spirit of Vengeance" to level 2 were the same as the requirements for learning it: five free skill points.

The requirement for reaching level 3 didn't change, either.

Unlike the later stages of "White Walkers," which demanded faster progression.

However, there was a potential issue.

At this rate, by the time he maxed out his level, he'd have gained a maximum of 40 skill points—not enough to fully upgrade all his skills.

He'd need to find a way to acquire more free skill points.

But Aoki wasn't too concerned.

With the "Spirit of Vengeance," he could not only kill demons for gear but also trigger new quests.

The more quests he took, the more chances he'd have to earn skill points.

"Hahaha, so that's how it went! Too tragic! Hahaha!"

Unrestrained laughter echoed, filled with undisguised mockery.

Two CP0 agents passing by turned their cold gazes toward the source of the laughter.

"Who would dare behave so brazenly in Mary Geoise?"

A towering figure appeared, clad in a white navy uniform.

The two CP0 agents quickly averted their gazes without any reaction, as if they hadn't seen anything.

"Garp!"

Sengoku's face darkened. "Is now really the time to laugh at someone's misfortune?"

The World Government had been humiliated; how could the Navy expect to escape untouched?

Garp waved a hand, looking unconcerned.

"I'm not laughing at them. I just find it funny. Those arrogant fools probably never imagined this could happen to them. Seems like not everyone in this world is scared of them, hahahaha!"

"I shouldn't have brought you here!"

Sengoku's eyebrow twitched in frustration. He felt both irritated and helpless.

If it were anyone else behaving this way, he'd have detained them by now.

"Perfect! I've got other business to attend to, so I'll skip the meeting."

With that, Garp turned on his heel and walked off, as nonchalant as ever.

Sengoku stood there, stunned. After a moment, he gritted his teeth. "So, he just came to see Mary Geoise in shambles?"

The Chief of Staff, Tsuru, placed her hands behind her back as she walked forward, her expression calm.

"You know his personality."

Sengoku shook his head helplessly. "I didn't expect him to be this childish."

"Come on!" Tsuru said. "It's about to start."

Sengoku's expression turned serious.

"Where did that man come from? No one's ever heard of his name on the seas before!"

Although no one had said it directly, they knew very well that the Five Elders had called this meeting specifically to deal with the villain responsible for the destruction of Mary Geoise.

Tsuru shook her head slightly. "At least, none of our intelligence has ever picked up on him. Perhaps the World Government has only recently discovered him."

This was one of the most puzzling aspects.

All the great powers of the sea had a rise to prominence—whether it was Roger, Whitebeard, or even Rocks before them.

Yet, this person seemed to have emerged from nowhere.

"Ever since the beginning of the Great Pirate Era, the seas have only grown more unstable," Sengoku sighed.
