A man dressed in a suit resembling a space suit, his hair slicked high, waved a whip with evident pleasure.
The woman before him was covered in bruises. Her screams had grown faint, and her body eventually stopped moving. She had died under the relentless abuse.
"So weak. If only I could buy a few more resilient mermen," the man muttered in dissatisfaction before waving a hand dismissively. "Take her body away!"
"Yes, Saint Leopold!" his bodyguard responded, stepping forward. But after two steps, the guard suddenly froze.
A figure had appeared beside the corpse.
"Finally made it out," Aoki muttered, still feeling a lingering sense of dread.
Even though he had crossed dimensions once before, the experience was still harrowing. It felt like he was walking on a tightrope suspended ten thousand meters above the ground with no safety net.
Raising his head, Aoki took in the entire palace at a glance: three ragged girls, a suited bodyguard, a man in a strange space suit, and a lifeless, bruised corpse formed a grotesque tableau.
His gaze settled on the man in the space suit. The outfit looked familiar.
Ding!
Suddenly, the system's alert sounded.
[New Mission Acquired: Kill Ten Humans!]
[New Mission Acquired: Breath Blast!]

Aoki's eyes lit up.

Aoki examined the details closely. Seeing terms like "World Government," "Mary Geoise," "Imu," and the "Five Elders" together made him instantly aware of which world he had come to this time. There were four tasks, each more challenging than the last, along with an enticing reward.
"A professional fusion card," Aoki muttered, a glint flickering in his eyes. A task this difficult, and the reward was only an item—no experience points included. But the correlation between task difficulty and reward quality made it clear that this "Career Fusion Card" was something valuable.
The name alone gave him an idea of its potential use, and the "five-star" designation hinted it might be something extraordinary. Compared to the previous two missions, The End of the World Government was the true feast.
Interestingly, mission types usually correspond to Aoki's career path and upgrade methods. For example, while playing as a "White Walker," his tasks were generally focused on killing demons or evading them. This pattern held for "Ten Man Kill" and "Breath Blast" too. However, there was no clear connection between The End of the World Government and the evolution path of the Infinite Dragon Beast. This variance was exactly what the Spirit of Vengeance enabled—not only increasing the probability of obtaining missions but also diversifying the types of tasks available.
The three Hancock sisters looked at Aoki quietly, their eyes carrying a glimmer of curiosity. Based on his attire, it was evident he was neither a slave, a bodyguard, nor a Celestial Dragon. After being held captive for years, this was the first time they had encountered someone so mysterious and out of place.
Meanwhile, the bodyguards shielded the man in the spacesuit behind them, watching Aoki warily.
"Be careful, Saint Leopold!" one bodyguard warned.
But Leopold showed no fear, raising his whip as he pointed it at Aoki.
"Hey! Who are you? Who permitted you to enter my palace?" he sneered.
Aoki didn't answer.
Leopold's face twisted with anger. "How dare you, a mere lowlife, ignore me!"
Snap!
He lashed the whip.
Aoki suddenly reached out, catching the whip effortlessly, and looked up with a glint in his eye.
"A Celestial Dragon!"
No wonder the outfit looked familiar. This bizarre spacesuit was the unmistakable garb of the Celestial Dragons—descendants of the kings who founded the World Government, viewing themselves as creators and rulers of the world. The End of the World Government mission required the elimination of one hundred Celestial Dragons.
The task's conditions were surprisingly convenient. There was no need to evaluate whether a Celestial Dragon deserved death. Aoki only had to kill every Celestial Dragon he encountered; in his mind, not a single one was innocent.
Leopold tried to yank the whip back, but Aoki's grip held firm. Enraged, he spat, "You lowly creature dare defy me? Kill him! Kill him…"
Swish!
A massive head flew through the air, the shrill cry cut short. In the next instant, Aoki's figure appeared nearby.
Thud. Thud!
Leopold's severed head hit the floor, rolling twice, the arrogance and superiority still etched on his lifeless face. Tradition dictated that, in times of danger for a Celestial Dragon, a general would be deployed to protect them. But centuries of unchecked power had eroded any sense of fear or caution from the Celestial Dragons.
Besides, this was Mary Geoise—the heart of the World Government. No one had ever dared to unleash chaos here since its founding.
The palace fell into an eerie silence as everyone stared, stunned, at the headless corpse on the floor.
