Chapter 184: Preparing to Leave
______
After the death of the four-winged dragon, the low-level dangerous species scattered in all directions, fleeing the scene.
"It went better than expected!" Leone said, putting her hands on her waist as she returned to her human form.
"Thanks to Akame," Aoki replied.
Of the four super dangerous species, half were killed by Akame. Although she had support from others, her contribution was the greatest, making her undoubtedly the MVP of this battle.
Akame, now standing by the four-winged dragon, had completely lost the murderous aura she'd just shown. With a goofy look, she asked, "Can we eat the meat of super dangerous species?"
Aoki laughed. "That should be possible, right? Let's cut off a couple of pieces and try it later."
He raised his fist and smashed it down with a heavy thud, quickly splitting the four-winged dragon's head open. After rummaging around, he found a silver bead.
However, this silver bead was different from the others.
The silver beads in the heads of the other three super dangerous species were only about the size of eggs, but this one was larger than his fist.
Putting the three beads together, Aoki looked thoughtful.
He had been puzzled—why would three extremely dangerous creatures, with no connection to spatial power, have space-attributed items in their heads? If the four-winged dragon had placed them there, what could its purpose have been?
Comparing the sizes of the three beads, a theory formed in his mind.
It was likely that the three super dangerous species were being used to cultivate the silver beads, much like clams cultivating pearls.
As for why these three dangerous species cooperated or what their relationship was, he had no idea.
But, of course, that detail didn't matter much.
Leone moved closer to Aoki, looking at the three beads in his hand with curiosity. "Is this what you were after when hunting these super dangerous species?"
Aoki nodded. "These three beads are enough to create three imperial tools."
Najenda chimed in, a bit regretfully, "While the materials may be powerful enough, the technology to create imperial tools has been lost for centuries. Hundreds of years ago, an emperor tried to rebuild the imperial weapons, but all he could manage were a few servant weapons, which weren't nearly as powerful as the true imperial tools."
"I'm not planning to use them to make a Teigu," Aoki replied, taking out a box and placing the three silver beads inside.
The silver beads emitted special spatial fluctuations that could interfere with "space shuttle." With these, the "space shuttle" ability would be rendered useless.
Aoki had thought through this problem before coming.
This box was made from Orichalcum
steel—one of the key materials for crafting imperial tools. It could harness the power of super dangerous materials, allowing it to contain their spatial fluctuations.
As he closed the lid, the chaotic spatial fluctuations vanished instantly, and he felt an immediate sense of relief.
It would have been troublesome if the Orichalcum steel box hadn't worked.
Aoki then cut two pieces of meat from the four-winged dragon and turned to Kurome, saying, "Kurome, these bodies are yours to handle!"
He had wanted to consume them himself, but unfortunately, he hadn't yet learned the art of "devouring."
"Give them to me?" Kurome asked in surprise.
These were intact corpses of super-dangerous species, four of them, and they were absolutely invaluable.
"Only you can make the best use of them," Aoki said.
He also had another idea: refining them into puppets would "preserve them fresh," so when he eventually learned how to "devour," he might still be able to make use of them.
He wasn't concerned about whether anyone would be upset with his decision.
It was a fair deal.
The Night Raids had already received their rewards and weren't eligible to participate in the distribution of the spoils.
Besides, Akame had contributed the most, so there would be no objections to Aoki's decision.
"Alright!" Kurome didn't hesitate, stepped forward, drew her Yatsufusa, and with a firm "puff," stabbed it into the four-winged dragon's head.
Everyone looked on with curiosity.
Najenda felt her thoughts racing. Before this, Kurome, controlling sixteen special dangerous species, was already very powerful. With the addition of four super-dangerous species, her strength could potentially surpass even Esdeath.
After a moment, the four-winged dragon's eyes snapped open, cold and filled with murderous intent.
Everyone instinctively stepped back.
Kurome remarked, "This dangerous species still seems to have a lot of self-awareness left."
"Is that an issue?" Aoki looked at her, questioning.
Kurome shook her head. "This actually makes it more adaptable in combat. It's an advantage."
"Good," Aoki replied.
It would have been problematic if they had resurrected a creature that was out of control or hostile toward them.
Kurome then proceeded to turn the other three super-dangerous species into puppets, making herself one of the most formidable individuals in the world.
With twelve extremely dangerous species under her control, along with the four super-dangerous species—including a well-rounded powerhouse like the four-winged dragon—this was a lineup that could make anyone's blood run cold.
In the past, puppets would lose strength compared to their living forms due to decreased intelligence. However, now, these puppets were essentially immortal, making them even harder to deal with than before.
In addition, it was well known that a summoner's primary weakness was personal vulnerability. Previously, when Kurome activated the Yatsufusa, her own abilities would be weakened, and the more puppets she controlled, the greater that weakening.
Now, Kurome's strength remained unaffected. With her newfound immortality, she was no longer at risk of being killed.
All in all, Kurome had become a super summoner with practically no weaknesses.
Such was the advantage of a summoner. As long as they had a powerful summon, their own strength could increase rapidly.
…
Stars filled the night sky, casting a soft silver glow.
The sea breeze caused the campfire flames to sway, sending the aroma of grilled fish and meat wafting through the air. Above the fire, an iron pot filled with fish soup bubbled, filling the surroundings with a tantalizing scent.
After the intense battle, no one was in a rush to leave.
Leone suggested they camp, and everyone quickly agreed.
Akame sat nearby, holding a large piece of steak, her face filled with contentment as she ate.
Najenda, Sheele, Lubbock, Bulat, and the others gathered, sharing laughter that echoed around them.
Tatsumi and Mine leaned against each other's shoulders, looking close and content. Their relationship had long been public, and according to Leone, they had even started planning to marry.
Kurome watched, a look of envy crossing her face as she held a wine glass, taking small sips.
Eating had always been her biggest pleasure.
Unfortunately, now she could only watch as others enjoyed the delicious food.
Aoki lay back on a nearby rock, gazing up at the sky, letting his thoughts wander.
His objectives in this world were mostly complete.
There were two methods for leveling up "Infinite Dragon Beast." The first was through missions related to the "Spirit of Vengeance," while the second was through killing.
That's right.
The type of target "Infinite Dragon Beast" required was humans.
The people of this world weren't especially weak, but they weren't exceptionally strong either. The truly powerful ones were the Imperial Tool Users, but their numbers were limited.
Furthermore, many elite monsters that would have been ideal targets, such as the Royal Fist Temple Master, had already been eliminated by him.
Given these factors, it might be time to move on.
Perhaps the next world would offer better prospects.
