Dmitry stood up and drank some water while looking out the window of his house, watching many people passing by and heading to completely different places.
"Forty-three," Dmitry said, closing the window and looking at his table, which was dirty with cookie crumbs.
"I told her forty-three minutes ago. Where did she go with my credit card? I knew I shouldn't have given it to her." Dmitry sighed, went to the fridge to get an apple, and started eating it while thinking about what he had just read.
'A creature with a jar? From the image, the jar is black with red teeth drawn on it. But the creature is random, so it could be any of them.'
"Well, no time to think, let's play again."
Dmitry went to the trash can to throw away the apple and then headed straight to the machine. Entering the game, he found the boar he had left was completely devoured, and all the fruits he had gathered were gone. Smiling, he said, "Looks like we have an intruder nearby."
Dmitry began running around the area, hunting for possible intruders but didn't see anything that wasn't part of the forest.
A few minutes later, he heard a scream.
"I found you," Dmitry said, jumping and placing his hand on a tree trunk, climbing on top of it. He started running and jumping between the trees until he reached the source of the scream. He saw a group of monkeys with red eyes and black fur, covered in small blue and white runes.
"They're a bit bigger than me, and they're fighting each other? That makes my job easier, even though I'll get less experience... But I don't even have a weapon to fight them," Dmitry said, looking around as he watched the monkeys fighting. He then spotted a spear with a bloodstained hilt and noticed the arm of what appeared to be a large man. "Man, they are stronger than they look."
Dmitry heard a long scream, and upon looking at the fight again, he saw the smaller gorilla uppercutting the largest one, which fell to the ground dead. "The little one won, even though he's still bigger than me."
Dmitry smiled, starting to jump between the trees in the opposite direction of the monkeys, with his hands in his pockets and a smile on his face. "Better not interfere, I wouldn't want to crash a party."
A few hours later, Dmitry logged out. After taking off the helmet and opening the machine, the first thing he saw was his sister, looking embarrassed.
"What time is it? And don't tell me you forgot about Andreza," Evina said, scratching her cheek. Dmitry looked at her face and let out a long sigh, putting the helmet on the table and starting to take off his white shirt, looking at Evina.
Blinking a few times, Dmitry said, "I think you'd better leave."
' Hey, why are you taking your clothes off here? You know I'm your sister ' Evina thought for a few seconds before realizing he was undressing to go to the bathroom after seeing a white towel hanging on the wall.
"But I told you to leave..." Dmitry replied, pointing to the door.
Evina spontaneously pointed at the towel, asking, "Why do you have a towel here?"
"You're confusing me. Why are you talking about that?" Dmitry said.
Evina paused, her mind seeming to drift away from reality for a few seconds. When she came to, she sighed and said, "...I really forgot that you spend more than seven hours in that machine. Doesn't it have air conditioning?"
Dmitry pulled out a chair from the table next to him, sat down, and looked at Evina.
Expressionless, Dmitry said, "But that doesn't make a difference. I still need to take a shower even if I'm not sweating. So, is there anything else?"
"Uh... nothing. I'll be waiting for you then," Evina said, heading to the living room sofa and lying down, sending a message to Andreza that Dmitry would be there soon.
' Brother, brother, you change completely when you're not involved in games. Is that why he never became a leader? ' Evina thought as Dmitry walked past the room with just a towel on, heading to the bathroom.
"It can't be that. It's something that would make him more fit to be a leader. So why wasn't he ever one? He was the best player on that team," Evina said, sitting on the sofa, rocking back and forth, deep in thought. "Well, it doesn't matter what happened five years ago. What's important is what's ahead, or something like that."
Evina stopped thinking about it and started scrolling through videos on her phone for a few minutes.
' A girl beating up twenty player-killers who invaded her world? This looks pretty interesting ' Evina thought as she watched the video. Dmitry came out of his room wearing a white jacket with blue sleeves, a white shirt underneath, and black jeans.
"So, Evina, can we go? Or are you just going to keep watching videos there?" Dmitry asked from afar, heading towards the living room.
Evina turned off her phone's screen, leaving the video paused to watch later, and quickly went to the door, waiting for Dmitry. "Hey, what are you doing? Come on, Andreza is waiting for you."
Dmitry sighed, starting to walk towards Evina.
