Chapter 24 - FROM ONLINE TO OFFLINE

GYUBIN was actually nervous.

She knew that Wooju wasn't attracted to her, but she still hoped he'd find her pretty in her dream wedding dress.

Fortunately, it worked.

Gyubin's smile widened when she saw Wooju slowly getting up from his seat— his eyes glued to her.

Maybe it's just me being delulu, but he looks pretty charmed.

"How do I look—"

"Are you 'strawbyuri'?"

Hmm?

Gyubin and Wooju talked over each other, and they obviously had different priorities.

Even so, they still answered each other's questions…

… at the same time, again.

"I'm 'strawbyuri.'"

"You look beautiful."

Pfft.

That was neither Gyubin nor Wooju.

It was Miss Cha and the other sales associates who couldn't hold back their laughter at Gyubin and Wooju's chaotic conversation.

"Gyubin-ah," Wooju called her name gently while walking towards her with a bright look on his face. And then he stood in front of her, obviously looking at her with admiration. "Are you really 'strawbyuri'— my virtual wife?"

"Huh?" Gyubin asked, confused. And then she gasped when the realization finally hit her. "Are you 'dragonwoo'— my virtual ex-husband?"

"Not 'ex,'" he said while shaking his head. "I won't sign the divorce papers."

Pfft.

Gyubin couldn't help but laugh at Wooju's teasing. "I can't believe I'm meeting my virtual husband while trying on my wedding dress in front of my real life future husband."

Wooju nodded in agreement. "What a crazy twist of fate."

***

GYUBIN looked around the boutique while her wedding dress was being packed.

For some reason, Wooju was following her like a lost puppy.

"Are you sure you don't want to try on other dresses?" Wooju asked. "When my sister got married, she tried on one hundred dresses before she finally found the one."

"One hundred dresses?" Gyubin asked, laughing. "You're exaggerating, aren't you?"

"No, I'm not."

"Huh?"

"Noona really tried on one hundred dresses," Wooju said bluntly. "In the end, she chose the dress that her mother-in-law chose for her."

"For real?"

"Uh-huh."

"That sounds sad," Gyubin said worriedly. "I'm not saying I'm glad you don't have your parents anymore, but I'm relieved that no one is telling me what to do for our wedding."

"That's why I want us to get married before my friends and family return."

"Thank you for your consideration…"

Oh.

Gyubin trailed off because she got distracted by a wedding dress she saw on one of the mannequins.

So pretty…

It was a demure short gown adorned with intricate lace motifs— a dress that would accentuate the bride's statuesque frame and legs.

"Do you like that dress, Gyubin-ah?"

"I do, but it doesn't suit the motif of our wedding," Gyubin said, her eyes glued to the short gown. "It's more suited for a reception party, but we don't have that."

They only planned the wedding ceremony, after all.

There can't be a reception party because there are almost no guests.

"Let's buy it, Gyubin-ah."

"For what?"

"We didn't celebrate after we signed the marriage registration form, did we?" Wooju asked, tilting his head to one side while looking at her face. "Let's do it now."

Gyubin's face beamed, and then she nodded. "Shall we?"

***

PFFT.

Gyubin couldn't help but laugh when she saw her reflection.

Wooju really bought the short gown for her.

And she was wearing it now.

Miss Cha also chose a wedding veil that would match her dress, and then the staff brought a pair of shoes that completed her outfit.

Moreover, Miss Cha and the staff also re-did her hair and makeup.

Now Gyubin really looked like a bride.

And Wooju…

"Do you like your new dress that much?"

"I like looking pretty," Gyubin admitted, and then she turned to Wooju who was sitting next to her on that soft and spacious sofa. "You look extra handsome in your suit, Wooju-ssi."

Her husband also changed his clothes upon her request.

Now Wooju wore a white suit that matched Gyubin's wedding dress.

We really look like a newlywed couple now~

"We should take pictures, Wooju-ssi."

"Alright," Wooju said, and then he pointed at the array of beautiful diamond rings arranged in front of them. "We should choose your engagement ring first. Then let's choose our wedding rings."

Yep, that was their agenda: to buy rings.

And Gyubin's Status Window wouldn't stop popping up.

[

"I'm earning a lot of points because you're doting on me," Gyubin said, smiling. "Thank you for spoiling me, Wooju-ssi."

She didn't mind being cringe.

After all, the two of them were in the private room of that luxury jewel store. The store manager gave them privacy while choosing rings.

My husband is a VIP, after all.

"It still feels surreal to know that you're my virtual wife," Wooju said, and then he raised an eyebrow at her. "Why don't you call me like how you used to call me in the game, Gyubin-ah?"

"Oppa?" Gyubin asked, a bit startled. "You want me to call you 'Oppa?'"

Ah, why was it suddenly awkward?

Gyubin and Wooju both turned red, and then they avoided each other's gaze as if they were embarrassed.

But, wait.

If Wooju was the 'dragonwoo' I married in the game, then it means Wooju has the same problem as 'dragonwoo,' right?

Gyubin couldn't help but worry.

Wooju really needs a therapist then.
