Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Nine-tailed Jinchūriki

This was a test from Jiraiya for Minato Namikaze. Although Jiraiya himself did not have high expectations, he could sense something special.

Because no matter what, Minato was just a freshman in the ninja school. Even if he had the basic qualities of a Genin, it meant little in Jiraiya's eyes.

Back then, he and the other two became real ninjas at the age of six. When they were as old as Minato, they had already experienced life-and-death battles.

The test he set seemed too difficult for an ordinary Genin, but Minato Namikaze had already noticed it. Uchiha Yoruki, who came from a family of geniuses, did not.

In short, Jiraiya was quite satisfied with the Sandaime finding him this disciple.

Today's class was also proposed by his teacher, in order to test Minato Namikaze's talent. Jiraiya had made some preparations for the next step, but now it seemed unnecessary.

After a short observation, Namikaze Minato had shown all the qualities that a ninja should have, including meticulous insight, judgment, and most importantly, a calm temperament.

With these qualities, he could graduate from the ninja school and become a real ninja.

But it seemed he had hidden his strength in the ninja school. At an age when he should love to show off to everyone, Minato must have had his reasons for doing so.

Such a mentality didn't seem like that of a child of only seven years old. However, gradually, Jiraiya moved his eyes away from Minato and stopped at Kushina.

From the moment he arrived, he noticed that the chakra fluctuations of this girl were extremely strong, even better than Namikaze Minato and Uchiha Yoruki, but her chakra seemed a little special.

It was not a chakra fluctuation that ordinary people could have.

For this reason, he deliberately approached Mikoto and Kushina at the beginning, just to confirm that his perception was correct.

"Today's demonstration ends here. I have something else to do. Goodbye," Jiraiya said, and then his figure disappeared directly in front of everyone.

Shirota-sensei and his fellow teacher looked at each other, then took their respective students back to the classroom. Jiraiya taught them the Three Bodies Technique, but many students still didn't seem to understand it very well and needed their teachers to explain it in more detail.

Before learning ninjutsu, one must first understand the basic introduction of the technique and the way to make hand seals. Although Jiraiya slowed down the speed of making hand seals just now, many people naturally did not remember it.

This included the somewhat 'bad' student, Kushina.

The Hokage Building was located in the center of Konoha Ninja Village. There was an eye-catching "fire" character at the top of the building. This was where the Hokage worked, highlighting the status of the Hokage in Konoha Village and the Land of Fire.

Jiraiya appeared in front of the building, and after a few jumps and flashes, he came to the door, walked straight in, and proceeded very familiarly. After a while, he arrived at a door.

At this time, the door happened to be open.

A young man with long light purple hair walked out of the door.

He bumped into Jiraiya and smiled, greeting him: "Jiraiya, come to see the Third Hokage?"

The man's name was Kato Dan, and like Jiraiya, he was also a jonin.

"Yeah," Jiraiya nodded in response, and then the two passed by each other. Jiraiya closed the door from the inside.

Upon entering the room, the first thing that caught his eye was a large stack of paper, piled up like a mountain. While the Hokage was respected, he also took on a huge responsibility.

Handling so many documents would be more of a headache for him than carrying out an S-level mission.

The Third Hokage raised his head slightly, then lowered it again, continuing to handle the documents in front of him, and said, "I'm here."

Jiraiya casually found a seat near the stack of paper and sat down, waiting for the Sandaime to ask questions.

"Have you seen that child?" The Sandaime asked.

Jiraiya nodded.

The Third Hokage took a pen and wrote a few strokes on the document in front of him, then placed it on a pile of documents on the left. He took a long breath, raised his eyes, and said, "Are you satisfied with the disciple I found for you?"

The Third Hokage smiled, and Jiraiya raised his white eyebrows and said, "It is indeed a good seedling, although it's a little worse than I was back then."

In response, the Third Hokage just smiled and then said, "It seems you are satisfied, that's good. I will hand him over to you. As for how to teach him, you can decide for yourself."

"Of course, I'll do it without you saying it," Jiraiya curled his lips.

Immediately, he stared at the Third Hokage and said, "Are you hiding something from me?"

The Third Hokage was startled when he heard this.

"There is a little red-haired girl in Minato Namikaze's class. Her chakra is very unusual," Jiraiya said. Although he couldn't tell which family Kushina's chakra came from, he was sure that the little girl's origin was definitely unusual.

The Third Hokage's face changed slightly, and these details were naturally captured by Jiraiya.

"I still couldn't hide it from you."

Hiruzen had deliberately withdrawn the Anbu who were protecting Kushina, just because he was afraid that Jiraiya would notice. It seemed that his disciple had grown to a level high enough to amaze him.

The Third Hokage stood up, picked up the pipe placed on the document, lit it, and took a puff.

He exhaled smoke from his mouth, which gradually spread and filled the entire Hokage's office.

After a moment of silence, the Third Hokage said, "Originally, even you had no right to know about this matter. It involves too much and may even affect the stability of Konoha Village and the peace between the five major ninja countries. But since you are my disciple and the heir of the Will of Fire, it's okay to tell you about it."

He first emphasized the seriousness of the matter. Jiraiya's face became serious after hearing this.

"That little girl, her name is Uzumaki Kushina," the Third Hokage said slowly.

"A member of the Uzumaki clan?" Jiraiya was surprised. The Uzumaki clan was once a friendly country of Konoha Village. Its members were born with extraordinary vitality and huge chakra.

No wonder he felt that Kushina's chakra was a little special.

However, the Uzumaki clan no longer existed in the world. Because the people of that clan were very good at sealing techniques and were regarded as a threat by other ninja countries, they were attacked, and the other major villages destroyed them.

The surviving members of the Uzumaki clan were therefore scattered all over the world.

After learning about Kushina's identity, Jiraiya already had some guesses in his heart, but when the Third Hokage confirmed it, his pupils couldn't help but shrink slightly.

"And she will be the next Nine-Tails Jinchūriki!"
