After completing the class, Harry and his friends returned to the room. Tyler was still sleeping in bed.
"Tyler, wake up, let's go eat something," Liam said while shaking Tyler up.
They were happy to see that no one was in canteen, unlike last time, so everything went smoothly.
"Now what should we do? Do you have any ideas?" Liam asked.
"We need to improve our cultivation if we don't want to get bullied like others, and the most important thing is earning credits," Harry said.
"I know a way to earn credits. We can go for a hunt and sell beast crystals," Blake said.
Harry instantly agreed because he could kill beasts and gain levels, but then he remembered something about challenge rings and said, "Why don't we go to the challenge rings and improve our ranking?"
"Yes, I was also curious to see these challenge rings. Let's go there," Liam said cheerfully.
But Tyler wasn't much happy about this decision but they ignored it.
Harry and his friends followed the map and arrived at the open arena.
There were three rings in the middle, but only one ring was occupied, and two students were fighting. The rings were as big as a basketball court.
Around the ring was an open area where some students were cheering while others were cursing one of the fighters because they lost a bet.
The most attractive thing was a big screen with rankings from 1 to 10.
Both fighters had badges on their clothes. One of them was ranked 2560th, and the other was 2725th.
When the fight ended, the 2725th ranker won, and their ranks were magically exchanged.
Harry and his friends came closer to the ring. There was a person who was transferring credits to others.
They understood that this was for betting.
The next contestants came to the ring. This time, there were 630th and 724th rankers.
The person who was transferring credits to others announced, "It's Garric Nightblade vs. Emeric Stormcaller."
Harry used his inspect skill on Garric.
[Elemental Master Level 2]
And then on Emeric Stormcaller.
[Elemental Master Level 1]
All the students started placing their bets.
Harry knew he had an advantage over others since he could see the precise level of others.
"Blake, how many credits do you have?" Harry asked.
"Um... I still have 250 left," Blake replied.
"Can you give me some? I will return it," Harry requested.
"Sure," Blake said, transferring 100 credits to Harry.
Harry came closer to 'Thorne,' the person regulating bets.
"100 credits on Garric," Harry said while transferring the money.
Thorne was surprised when someone bet on Garric because no one was betting on him.
This was because Garric had recently broken through to Elemental Master and was new to his abilities, while Emeric had full control over his elemental abilities.
But he didn't show any surprise on his face and accepted the transaction. "Odds are 13:1," he just notified.
After 5 minutes, the fight started.
The sun was setting, casting an eerie glow over the basketball court-sized arena where Garric and Emeric stood.
Garric's eyes focused; he knew he was at a disadvantage due to his limited knowledge of his element. However, he had spent years practicing his martial techniques and wasn't about to back down easily.
And he had recently had a double breakthrough.
As the fight began, Emeric wasted no time, conjuring water from the air and directing it towards Garric with fluid movements of his hands. Garric dodged, narrowly avoiding the sharp edges of the water as they slashed through the air.
With a smooth motion, Garric leaped forward, launching a barrage of lightning strikes at Emeric.
Despite his lower knowledge, his mastery of martial techniques allowed him to hold his own against his opponent.
However, Emeric countered with precise blocks and evasions, his knowledge of elemental abilities giving him an edge in predicting Garric's movements.
The fight raged on, both of them pushing themselves to the limit. Garric came close and launched kicks and punches, his movements a blur as he overwhelmed Emeric with sheer speed and power.
Emeric, his expression focused and determined, retaliated with blasts of water cannon and water blades, exploiting the weaknesses in Garric's defenses.
As they danced around the court, the audience watched in awe, unaware of Garric's true cultivation level. Emeric, too, was taken aback by Garric's skill and determination, his initial confidence waning as the fight continued.
As the battle reached its climax, Emeric found himself tiring, his breath coming in gasps as he struggled to keep up with Garric's higher cultivation level.
With a sudden burst of energy, Emeric unleashed a powerful surge of elemental energy, sending Garric crashing to the ground.
Garric drew upon the last reserves of his strength, channeling his Qi into a final attack. He unleashed a devastating blow that sent Emeric staggering backward. Emeric didn't have any Qi left for defense.
With a triumphant grin, Garric didn't stop delivering blows upon Emeric until he could no longer stand. As the dust settled, Garric stood victorious.
Many of the audience were disappointed since they lost their bets, and Harry was also on his toes watching this fight.
He realized it's not always necessary that a higher cultivation person will win the fight for sure and decided to not bet ever again based solely on cultivation.
But now it was time to collect his money, so he went to Thorne.
Thorne made a face while transferring 1250 credits to Harry. According to him, Harry just had luck on his side. But he got his cut in it, so he didn't mind.
"What if someone never accept a challenge" Tyler asked.
"Read those rules, they say one must fight once In a month if they have challenge request and if they don't then they can avoid fighting" Blake said pointing another small digital board.
They watched some more fights, but Harry only placed bets when he saw a cultivation difference of 2 or more levels. However, the odds were not great. He made around 2000 credits by the end of the day.
All other students were eyeing him enviously.
Harry and his group were very happy as they came out and were heading to their rooms.
When 10 students blocked their path.
"Oh, you really were lucky today. Can we get our money back?" a student said, grinning mischievously.
"Oh... I don't remember borrowing money from you," Harry replied, raising an eyebrow.
"Don't play smart. I know you two are outsiders. If you don't want to get beaten up
,you better transfer that Money" another student said clearly in disdain.
It's the second time when harry heard this term 'outsider' he remembered it when some students were bullying a student in the Qi manipulation class, they used this term.
"So what if we are an outsider, currently we are on equal footing" Harry replied.
Harry was waiting for system to give him a Quest but students in front of him didn't stop for it.
"Haha you really think we are on equal footing you filthy scum" with that he launched a punch on Harry.
