Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Kanji eased the room door open, his body hurt and his soul exhausted. The crushing blackness within engulfed him completely. He tried to adjust to the low light by straining his eyes.

At last his eyesight cleared. With his heart thumping in his chest, he looked around the room. The once-bound Marumaya was nowhere to be seen, and the chains were empty. He felt a flood of relief and then a twinge of remorse. Even with someone like Enazumi keeping an eye on her, has she managed to get away?

Kanji gave himself a self-slap to wake himself from his daydream. He said, "No, let's not get ahead of ourselves." His gaze swept over the entire space, taking in every detail on the walls.

And then he saw it: a message written in blood, its crimson hue contrasting sharply against the stone wall. The message was old, crusted with dirt and mold, but it was still legible.

'I hope you're alive and well while reading this, The Red haired man said i can go back to my old life and forget you and him, because you're the only one important for his mission, I also hope we can met again, Love you.

Kanji's heart wrenched as he read the message. Marumaya's words were a salve for his wounded spirit. She was alive and free. And she adored him.

A surge of emotions washed over Kanji. Happiness, relief, and a great feeling of loss. He had failed to save her, had caused her to suffer for so long. But now, she was gone, her destiny unknown.

Kanji remained there for a long time, his mind whirling. He had to find her, to make sure she was safe. But where could she have gone? How much time had elapsed since she sent the message? Was it true, or was it Enazumi's cruel trick?

He gave himself a smack to wake himself from his daydream. He promised, "I will locate you no matter what." "The forest is in the midst of this location. I've made many attempts to flee, but it always feels as though I'm in the midst of nowhere. And that man would always tell me that he would murder me if I tried to flee."

Kanji was adamant in his resolve. It would take everything he had to find Marumaya.

Kanji stepped from the chamber with a broad grin on his face. Despite the anguish that ran through his body, he felt a surge of optimism. He had lived, and Marumaya was no longer in danger.

He lurched ahead, his legs weakened but his soul intact. His surroundings were brighter and more lively. He had finally discovered a ray of light in the middle of the darkness.

Kanji dropped to the ground without warning. His body gave out when the anguish grew excruciating. He fell asleep, his thoughts racing with visions of liberation and reunion.

When Kanji woke up two days later, his body felt stronger and lighter than it had ever felt. There was no longer any discomfort and rather a feeling of fresh energy. He leaped to his feet, the earth quivering under him.

He dreamed about Marumaya laying dead, a terrifying scene. However, it was only a bad dream. He was liberated and living.

Kanji put his strength to the test, just moving his hand to the side where the chamber was. It got blow out by just the wind alone, causing a ripple effect across the woodland. He was more stronger than he had been previously. This was genuine, it wasn't an delusion.

He said to himself, "I-I am stronger than before." "No, I'm much stronger,"

Knowing he had to get out of there and get Marumaya, Kanji did. He launched himself into the air with a sudden burst of speed, moving so quickly that even the Peregrine Falcons circling the sky seemed like they were going slowly. His actions produced a loud boom. The shockwave dispersed the leaves of trees as they sailed through the air.

Kanji flew across the skies, not knowing where he was going, but determined not to give up.

Flying into the skies, Kanji's thoughts was racing. The last location he and Marumaya had seen each other was the church, and he had to find it. She and the priest were in a city that he could locate if he could locate the church.

Nevertheless, what if they had gone on? Would it be possible that Marumaya had overlooked him? Kanji became extremely depressed at the concept.

Kanji was resolute in his quest to uncover the truth. He soared above dense woods, mountains, towns, and enormous vistas. Seeing the ocean for the first time, he was astounded by its immense size.

Four days passed, and his body adapted to the never-ending journey. He felt a sense of freedom that he hadn't felt in years as he explored the landscape from above.

Finally, he spotted it: a chapel situated in a little village. It was not the same as he recalled, but he knew instinctively that this was the right location.

Kanji dropped, the earth trembling with the impact. As he landed, he noticed a throng gathering outside the church. A priest, his form recognizable, led them inside.

Kanji's heart pounded with excitement. He had found it. He was finally home.

Kanji observed from a distance, his heart filled with mixed feelings. The priest's voice could be heard across the audience as he delivered his sermon. People clapped, their faces bright with excitement and optimism.

Kanji kept down his enthusiasm, waiting for the proper time. As the crowd entered the church, the priest waited outside on a park seat. He seemed exhausted, and his age was clear on his face, at least in his 70s.

Kanji approached slowly, his steps quiet. The priest was lost in meditation, staring at the sky.

"Hi," Kanji murmured, his voice quiet.

The priest looked down, his expression of astonishment turning to incredulity. "I-it's you?"he said, his voice overflowing with passion. He grabbed Kanji into a loving embrace, tears spilling down his cheeks.

Kanji hugged him back, his eyes welling with tears. "I'm glad you didn't forget me!" He explained, his voice strangled with passion.

With a mixture of relief and melancholy in his eyes, the priest moved away from Kanji. "You have no idea how much I looked for years," he admitted. "I was really desperate at the beginning. Nothing occurred when I phoned the police. I later learned that Marumaya had vanished as well."

He went on, his voice faltering, "But then one day, it started to rain and she appeared. I opened when she knocked on the door. She was covered with wounds and inconsolable. She said that you and her were kidnapped by the same man, but he freed her."

Heart thumped in Kanji's chest. With a voice that was almost audible, he said, "How did she find her way back home?"

The cleric grinned pitifully. She told me that he appeared to open like a gap in reality and followed her into the church. Subsequently, he returned, the gateway shutting. I have been searching for you for at least three years. You know, the folks in the church liked you. They made an effort to assist, but nothing worked. You seemed to be imprisoned in a other realm."

With a flurry of relief and happiness, Kanji gave the priest a strong hug. He added, his voice full of optimism, "But now I'm back home." "Everything will be OK,"

Eyes filled with amazement, the priest withdrew. Now, if you would kindly, tell me what has been happening to you all this time.

Journey, fights with Enazumi, incarceration, and final escape were all described by Kanji. With a look of both surprise and incredulity, the priest listened carefully.

As Kanji detailed his change, the priest's eyes became wider. "You've grown so much," he said, his voice overflowing with admiration. "It's fantastic!"

But the priest still doubted some of the story, He could not be real..even for someone like him, Kanji noticed the doubt and gave a grin. "I can show to you all this is true," he stated. "Follow me.

They traveled through the city till they arrived at a isolated spot. Kanji faced the priest. "Be prepared," he instructed.

Kanji ignited his Yin by a strong spell. A golden armor encircled his torso, its complex patterns gleaming in the dim light.

The priest's eyes widened in astonishment. "That's a miracle," he whispered.Kanji nodded. "This is the power of the Yin," he said. "It's a gift, a curse. But it's also a force for good i guess."

Kanji smiled, a malicious twinkle in his eyes. "But that's not all," he shouted. "I want to show you how my world appears right now."

With a flick of his finger, a little golden blade emerged. He directed it toward a huge boulder nearby. With a single move, he cut through the boulder, cutting it in half. The trees beyond the boulder were similarly neatly sliced in two, as if by a perfect surgical incision.

The priest's eyes expanded in surprise. "Is this true?" he mumbled, checking himself to ensure he wasn't dreaming.

Kanji gave a chuckle. "I pledge I'll never use these abilities again, except when absolutely necessary."

They strolled back to the chapel, Kanji talking about his exploits and newfound powers. The priest listened carefully, his countenance a mix of astonishment and anxiety.

"I nearly forgot," Kanji said, a sudden awareness coming on him. "Where is Marumaya?

The priest's face softened. "It's been a few years since I've seen her," he said, his voice heavy with regret. "After a year and a half of searching for you, Mary got quite depressed, Her parents advised her to forget about the entire experience, so she stopped attending church''.

Kanji's heart dropped. "But wait," the priest replied, his voice full of optimism. "She still appeared out of nowhere without anyone knowing."

The priest persisted. "She frequently asked if I had seen you. I believe the last time that happened was two years ago. Her family wanted her to concentrate on school, so it was the last time I saw her.

Kanji cried. He was overjoyed to learn that Marumaya was still alive and well. Perhaps if he could locate her, they would be reunited.

Confusion soon replaced Kanji's delight. The priest said, his voice full of worry, "Wait, do you even know where she lives?"

With his head whirling, Kanji halted. "We was stolen before even entering the city," he thought to them, placing his palm on his chin. "I never truly saw her house."

Out of fury, he whacked his forehead. Nervously, he laughed, "Ahaha, that's true." "Her residence is unknown to me."

The pastor laughed. His amused gaze said, "You're truly the same boy that i used to know, Kanji!"

Kanji joined in the laughter. He had missed this, the carefree moments of friendship."Follow me," the priest said

Kanji and the priest began their trek across the city. As they went, Kanji couldn't help but note that he had passed by the location where he had vanished. His heart hammered in his chest, the events of that day fresh in his thoughts.

Despite his emotional state, Kanji kept following the priest. The city was teeming with bustle, different from the peaceful village he recalled. Skyscrapers towered over them, and the streets were crowded with people going about their everyday lives, it was confusing since there was still hints of the medieval style it had been before.

Kanji continued to follow the priest, his mind racing with memories of Marumaya. The sight of the television store reminded him of what was going on outside their tiny village.

As they watched the news, Kanji was astounded by the olympic athletes' astounding achievements. One athlete, a Japanese sprinter with long spiky blue hair and brown eyes, broke the world record in the 100-meter dash. after the finish line the Tv camera had a zoom into him, and i could clealy see a symbol on his hand, it was a Greek symbol just like mine, indicating that there were more individuals like me.

"So there are more of them," Kanji said to himself.

The pastor laughed. "Hi, why don't you come over? Time for a TV break," he joked.

With steadfast attention, Kanji disregarded him. With a racing heart, he trailed behind the priest as they strolled through the city.

With a last gesture, the priest indicated a home. He said, "This is it." They are still meant to reside here, if my memory serves me right.

Heart palpated momentarily for Kanji. Now at last, he had located Marumaya's residence. He hesitated, ideas and concerns swirling in his head. And if she had moved on? What if someone else had brought her happiness?

"What did I think I was doing?" Kanji had a self-reprimand. With a shake of his head, he vowed to face whatever was ahead.

Kanji inhaled deeply and followed the priest inside the home. Despite being small, the house had a cozy, welcoming appearance. With a tiny tremble in his fingers, the priest knocked on the door.

A lady was standing at the doorway when it creaked open. Kanji knew she was who she was, and his heart raced in his chest. It was Mommy Marumaya.

The woman answered, her voice full of astonishment, "Oh, good night, Father." that woman was exacly like Marumaya, her long blue hair and blue eyes, even her pretty and almost identical face, she them said ''This late in the evening, what can I do to help you?''.

With his gaze set on Kanji, the priest moved forward. With intensity in his voice, he inquired, "Do you recall this man?"

With a look of bewilderment and incredulity, the woman turned to face Kanji. A rush of humiliation swept over Kanji as he realized he had forgotten her name.

The priest gently said, "Did you forget already, Hine?"

She gave a shake of her head. She whispered, her hands shaking, "No, there's no way that's him." "That young man."

She was cut off by the priest. You're right. Yes, this is Kanji."

The woman had tears in her eyes. She threw out her arms and raced to Kanji. "You realize how much suffering you caused my daughter?" Her voice was laced with agony as she sobbed. "How much pain did she endure for you?"

Kanji had a twinge of regret. He had no idea how much anguish Marumaya must have had. "It's not possible," he said in a hushed tone. "I have no idea how she must be hurting. But all I wanted was to see her again for the entire time."

The woman retreated while dabbing at her tears. She shouted, "Wait exactly there, don't move!"

Kanji and the priest exchanged a worried glance. Kanji heart raced in a speed that it felt he would pass out.

Kanji's heart beat in his chest as he heard footsteps approach. He looked through the glass, his eyes widening with surprise. Marumaya was racing to the door.

She stood before him, shocked. "Kanji?" she said, her voice scarcely audible.

Kanji cried. "It's me," he said, his voice shaking.

Marumaya fell to her knees, hands covering her face. "Kanji?" she shouted, her voice rising into a sob.

Her mother them appeared behind Maru, looking confused and scared at the same time. She enquired, "What's happening?"

With an overwhelmingly emotional heart, Kanji stood there. Marumaya was still alive when he discovered her.

Eyes still wet with tears, Marumaya glanced up. Her question was hardly audible above a whisper, "Are you real?" Tell me this is all true, please, God.

With an intense tone, Kanji gave a nod. He spoke in a scarcely heard voice, "It's genuine, Marumaya."

Marumaya ran towards Kanji, her arms outstretched. She threw herself into his arms, her tears soaking his shirt. Kanji held her tightly, his heart overflowing with love and relief.

Maru eyes welled with tears as she clasped Kanji's face in her hands. "Do you know how much I missed you? "How much did I pray for your life?" she said, her voice shaking.

Kanji's heart filled with emotion. "No, I can't," he said, his voice full of affection. "But I can make your prayers a reality. From now on, I will never disappear again. I will never let you go from my hands."

Kanji leaned in and kissed Marumaya, smiling gently. Her mother's mouth fell and her eyes opened wide in amazement. The priest chuckled, his heart overflowing with delight.

Marumaya backed away, flushed with surprise and joy. "You best not forget what you just said to me," she chastised, her eyes flashing with mischief, her eyes could not look direct at Kanji's.

"I love you," Kanji said with passion.

Marumaya's heart melted. She leaned in and kissed Kanji, her desire clear as she crushed her lips against his.

Kanji took her in his arms and held her firmly. Their relationship served as a ray of light in a world gone dark.

The mother of Marumaya coughed, blushing with shame. "What are you doing, miss?" I asked. She reprimanded, her tone laced with disdain. "And you, Kanji, too."

When she pulled Kanji and Marumaya apart, Kanji fell to the ground in a state of delight, but Miss believed that Kanji was sobbing out of grief. Miss apologized again to Kanji, which caused the priest to grin and laugh. Kanji was beyond happy now that he had found Marumayar, and that she felt the same about him.

The priest watched the scene with a warm smile. He had witnessed a love story that he would definily talk about in the church, a prove of God.
