Chapter 65 - Qin Moyao's Thoughts

Qin Moyao suddenly realized her oversight and felt ashamed. How could she have forgotten about Chen Yang's condition? After all, he had been injured while protecting her.

Then again, Chen Yang had acted so normal that he seemed completely fine.

Qin Moyao prepared to go downstairs when Chen Yang added, "Could you also buy me some underwear and pajamas from the convenience store?"

Qin Moyao nodded, "Sure!"

Chen Yang enjoyed a long, hot shower that lasted half an hour. The hot water opened every pore, leaving him feeling refreshed but also bringing on a wave of fatigue. He knew that after a good night's sleep, he'd be back to his energetic self.

Meanwhile, Qin Moyao left the new underwear and pajamas outside the bathroom door. Chen Yang changed into them and followed the aroma to the dining table.

Qin Moyao placed a bowl of noodles on the table. Her hair was disheveled, and she looked a bit frazzled from preparing the meal.

Chen Yang noticed meat strips and eggs on top of the noodles, though the eggs were slightly overcooked.

As Chen Yang sat down and picked up his chopsticks, Qin Moyao apologized, "I'm sorry, I'm not a very good cook."

Chen Yang chuckled, "I understand." He then asked, "How many eggs did you buy?"

"Twenty!" Qin Moyao replied.

Chen Yang said, "Go ahead and boil them. Just make sure they're fully cooked."

Qin Moyao quickly agreed, "Alright!"

Chen Yang began eating the noodles with a slight frown. The quality couldn't compare to Su Qing's cooking, but his intense hunger made him less picky. He ate heartily.

After finishing the hot bowl of noodles, Chen Yang felt reinvigorated. His body quickly absorbed the nutrients.

About twenty minutes later, Qin Moyao brought over the boiled eggs. They were still very hot, but Chen Yang nonchalantly picked one up. With a gentle tap, the entire shell fell off.

Qin Moyao was amazed by this seemingly magical act. "How did you do that?" she couldn't help but ask.

Chen Yang ate the egg in one bite and picked up another, explaining, "It's about controlling internal energy. A master of internal energy can strike from a distance. This little trick is nothing in comparison."

Qin Moyao's interest was piqued. "Can you teach me?"

Chen Yang shook his head, "No."

"Why not?" Qin Moyao asked.

"Because it can't be taught," Chen Yang replied.

Qin Moyao felt deflated but then argued, "How can you say I can't learn it if you haven't even tried to teach me?"

Chen Yang chuckled and said, "At your age, you're past the stage of greatest potential. Learning martial arts requires a clear, focused mind. You have too many thoughts now; your mind isn't pure enough."

Qin Moyao retorted, "Is there really so much to learning martial arts? Isn't it just about building strength, stability, and speed through stance training?"

Chen Yang ate another egg and explained, "Even if an ordinary person trains to death, without understanding the key principles, how fast or strong can they really become?" He paused, then continued, "Let me put it this way: people usually sweat when they exercise. Sweat is a loss of vital energy, making you more tired. If you want to start learning, the first step is to make your hair stand on end and close your pores. When people are suddenly exposed to cold air, they get goosebumps – that's closing the pores. Watch this."

He extended his arm, and Qin Moyao saw his arm hair suddenly stand up.

"How did you do that?" Qin Moyao asked in amazement.

Chen Yang lowered his arm and said, "Clear your mind, focus your intent, and control your entire body. It's that simple."

Qin Moyao tried but couldn't achieve any result.

Chen Yang chuckled and said, "Actually, a cruder description might be more accurate. It's like the feeling when you urgently need to use the bathroom but suddenly hold it in."

Qin Moyao blushed furiously, uncomfortable with such a vulgar comparison.

Chen Yang added, "In ancient times, many martial arts masters would only teach men, not women. Some concepts are difficult to explain or teach to women."

Qin Moyao was surprised, "I never knew that."

As they continued talking, Chen Yang finished all twenty eggs.

Afterward, he said, "Show me where I can sleep. I need to rest and recover."

Qin Moyao nodded and prepared the guest bedroom for him.

Chen Yang entered the room, said goodnight to Qin Moyao, and began practicing his internal energy technique on the bed.

He fell into a deep sleep while continuing this practice, his body rapidly absorbing nutrients and recovering.

Qin Moyao went to take a shower and then to bed. She felt extraordinarily safe with Chen Yang around. Despite being alone with a man, she wasn't worried about Chen Yang taking advantage of her.

In Qin Moyao's mind, Chen Yang seemed to be the only true gentleman she knew.

Around 3 AM, Chen Yang suddenly rushed out of the room to the bathroom, where he noisily expelled waste.

This was due to overeating earlier, and now his body was purging all impurities.

His body contained no toxins or waste.

Afterward, Chen Yang felt truly refreshed.

He slept soundly for the rest of the night.

The next day, Chen Yang slept until 10 AM. Qin Moyao didn't disturb him and instead brought up chicken soup from a nearby restaurant.

Chen Yang woke up feeling energized and happily drank the chicken soup with red dates. After this, his body had almost fully recovered.

Qin Moyao handed him a set of new clothes, saying, "I couldn't clean your old clothes properly. Please wear these."

The clothes were a crisp white tracksuit. Chen Yang accepted them with a smile and went to change.

After changing, Chen Yang checked his phone, which had run out of battery. He asked Qin Moyao for a charger, as most smartphones use universal chargers these days.

Then, Chen Yang and Qin Moyao sat on the couch to discuss their upcoming plans.

"Chen Yang, are you planning to go to Yunnan to find the Xuanyi Sect?" Qin Moyao asked.

Chen Yang leisurely sipped some yogurt and replied, "Of course. I promised Bai Yinshuang I would."

Qin Moyao said, "When do we leave? I'm coming with you."

Chen Yang said, "We don't know what tricks the Xuanyi Sect might have up their sleeves. I think it's better if I go alone this time."

Qin Moyao immediately protested, "That won't do. Cheng Jianhua is wanted for murder, and as a police officer, it's my duty to apprehend him. I must go with you this time."

Chen Yang explained, "I don't intend to hand Cheng Jianhua over to the police. Bai Yinshuang has a grudge to settle, so I plan to bring Cheng Jianhua to the Golden Era bar. It's the only way for the bar to clear its name."

Qin Moyao replied, "That shouldn't be a problem. Even the city leaders would support us doing that." She paused, then added, "I'm a police officer with an official identity. Wouldn't the Xuanyi Sect be more cautious around me?"

Chen Yang said, "I'm worried about potential dangers inside. I might not be able to protect you."

Qin Moyao reassured him, "Don't worry. Bai Yinshuang was a ghost, so I couldn't handle her. But the Xuanyi Sect members are human, and I'm an excellent shot. I won't be a burden to you. There's no use arguing about this – even if you don't let me go, I'll lead a team there myself."

"Absolutely not!" Chen Yang exclaimed, alarmed. He continued, "We don't know what traps the Xuanyi Sect might have. If you bring a team, we'll alert them to our presence. If Cheng Jianhua gets wind of it and escapes, it'll be much harder to find him again."

Qin Moyao grinned slyly, "Then take me with you."

Chen Yang sighed in resignation, "Alright."

"When do we leave?" Qin Moyao asked excitedly.

Chen Yang said, "Plan our route to Yunnan. I need to go back and let Su Qing know what's happening."

Qin Moyao felt a twinge of jealousy and said, "She's not your wife. Why do you need to report everything to her?"

Chen Yang retorted, "Come on, it's basic courtesy and respect. If I disappear without a word, she'll be worried sick."

Qin Moyao snapped, "Fine, go then."

Chen Yang paused, then chuckled, "You sound jealous. Officer Qin, you haven't fallen for me, have you?"

"As if!" Qin Moyao shot back.

Chen Yang grinned, picked up his partially charged phone, and left Qin Moyao's apartment.

After Chen Yang left, Qin Moyao still felt irritated, though she wasn't sure why.

She couldn't help but look at herself in the mirror.

In the reflection, she saw herself in a royal blue police shirt, her hair neatly tied up, looking both fierce and beautiful. Her skin was flawless, and her figure was shapely in all the right places.

By all accounts, Qin Moyao was naturally gorgeous. What bothered her was how Chen Yang seemed completely unaffected by her beauty.

Chen Yang, however, was oblivious to Qin Moyao's concerns. He hadn't given it any thought at all.

Chen Yang drove back to his rented apartment and went straight to see Su Qing.

Su Qing was in her own apartment doing laundry, coincidentally washing her delicates. Chen Yang was caught off guard by the sight, while Su Qing was initially delighted to see him but quickly blushed as she realized the situation. She hurriedly hid her underwear among the other clothes.

"Well, well," Chen Yang grinned, "Su Qing, I didn't know you liked such sexy..."

Su Qing's face turned beet red as she snapped, "Shut up!"

Chen Yang chuckled to himself, knowing full well that he had seen every inch of Su Qing's body and underwear before. He even knew she owned a thong.

In truth, Chen Yang understood that while Su Qing appeared virtuous and gentle on the outside, she had a passionate side hidden beneath the surface, which she kept suppressed.
