Chapter 1 - [FGO]: 1

"Ha ha ha! I pulled Altria Pendragon (Lancer) with a single draw!"

A sudden, crazed shout emanated from a room. Outside, a middle-aged couple exchanged glances and shook their heads helplessly.

Inside the room, an ordinary-looking, frail young man was holding up his Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and shouting madly.

Previously, his luck had been average at best; he had to spend a significant amount every time to get a five-star card. This time, however, he experienced a stroke of extraordinary luck, akin to a winning a lottery, a feeling that outsiders could not understand.

On the phone screen was a valiant, white-armored, blonde female knight seated elegantly on a white horse. Her aura was so noble and graceful that it made one want to kneel before her battle skirt.

Altria Pendragon (Lancer), also known as the perceptive King Arthur, is an alternate version of the famous anime character Artoria Pendragon, representing a parallel universe King Arthur.

Her main weapon is the holy spear instead of the holy sword, which allows her body to develop. Due to her impressive armor, she earned the nickname "Northern Hemisphere."

"I will always love Altria Pendragon (Lancer)! I live for Altria Pendragon (Lancer)! Without her, FGO is meaningless..."

The ecstatic young man grew more and more enamored as he stared, eventually kissing the image of the knight on his phone screen.

However, this joy quickly turned to tragedy. Under the control of some cosmic will, his saliva seeped into the phone through its crevices, and then...

Boom!

The phone exploded! It exploded! It exploded...

In a burst of white light, Earth lost an FGO player...

The next day, news reports abounded, stating that a phone from a certain country had exploded again, urging everyone to boycott the substandard products from that country.

...

Nguyen Ryou woke up from his unconsciousness, instinctively scanning his surroundings.

He found himself in a vast plaza resembling an observatory. A corridor wide enough for three people extended to the center, with blue-glowing water on either side. Beneath the water, white light formed a complex, mysterious magic circle.

In the center of the plaza, a rotating nebula floated in the void, composed of countless differently colored stars, like jewels hanging in the sky.

This miniature nebula was so realistic that it seemed as if some powerful being had shrunk it down and placed it here as an ornament.

Ryou noticed that a quarter of the nebula was shrouded in black mist. The originally bright stars had turned completely black, lifeless, and dull as if they had died.

"Ugh!"

While Ryou was looking around, he suddenly felt his brain tremble, as if an invisible hand was forcibly stuffing a large amount of information into his mind.

For a long time, Ryou gasped for breath, slowly recovering.

Just now, a mysterious and unknown force had made him understand everything.

He had transmigrated!

Although the surroundings were similar to those in the mobile game FGO he played, particularly the layout and scenes of the organization called Chaldea, he had mentally prepared himself for this.

However, when such an extraordinary surprise as transmigration occurred, he couldn't contain his excitement.

Especially when he learned that he had a system similar to FGO that could summon heroic spirits, he was overjoyed.

Transmigration with a cheat system—this was the treatment of a RNGsus, no, a RNGgod!

"I can't believe someone like me, Nguyen Ryou, would have a day like this!"

As for returning to Earth, that was out of the question.

Although he didn't start with the typical trope of having no parents, his relationship with them was extremely poor.

Before transmigrating, he was an online writer. While he wasn't hugely successful, he was self-sufficient.

Even though he wasn't living off his parents, they always compared him to his highly successful, well-rounded older brother, disdaining him for staying at home, being idle, and lacking ambition.

Over time, their conflicts escalated, and they became almost like strangers.

Ryou even suspected that if he disappeared, his parents wouldn't be too upset, as all their attention was focused on his brother, the epitome of a successful person.

Transmigration might be the best outcome for him. As for his parents, they could rely on his life-winner brother for support.

"Goodbye, reality! Hello, two-dimensional world!" Yes, the two-dimensional world. The mysterious force not only gave him a cheat system called "the system," but also informed him of his mission.

The nebula in the center of the plaza was a two-dimensional observation model similar to Chaldeas, and the quarter of the area shrouded in black mist represented many worlds that had undergone magical corruption or even died.

Ryou's mission was to use the system to grow stronger, continuously summon heroic spirit companions, and enter these two-dimensional parallel worlds to stop or even expel the magical corruption.

To prevent Ryou from being eliminated immediately upon arrival in the first world, the system "considerately" provided a starting ten-draw and "generously" displayed the ten-draw probabilities:

[ 40% for energy points, equipment, and other items. 30% for skills. 20% for Noble Phantasm cards. 9% for heroic spirit cards. 1% for Descent cards. ]

"No guaranteed rewards even in a ten-draw!?"

Before Ryou could utter a curse, the system gave him another big surprise.

Ding!

[ "The first trial world is about to begin. The host has 10 seconds to prepare." ]

[ "10, 9... 1, 0, teleportation begins!" ]

With the system's command, a silver-white magic circle suddenly appeared beneath the bewildered Ryou's feet. In the next moment, he turned into a beam of white light and vanished into the magic circle.

...

Cold, damp, and foul-smelling.

Ryou's eyes snapped open, revealing a moss-covered stone ceiling. He realized he was in an underground dungeon!?

Ding!

[ "Entering the world—'Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?'" ]

[ "World Corruption Rate—1%!" ]

[ "Please explore the source of the contamination and eliminate it! Task completion will reward you with one ten-draw!" ]

[ "Beginner's ten-draw reward can now be activated!" ]

[ "Activate?" ]

"Activate!" Ryou responded hastily.

Regardless of where the system had transported him, he was just a physically weak recluse with no guarantee of safety.

Moreover, whether out of a twisted sense of humor or not, the system had transported him to a dungeon, as if placing him on a chopping block!

The excitement of transmigrating to an anime world had completely vanished. Now, Ryou had only one thought: survive safely!

As Ryou initiated the summon, everything around him turned gray, as if time had frozen.

A white magic circle unfolded in the void, and several light orbs appeared, spinning around the circle. The white light grew brighter until it burst forth, lightning crackling in the void. Ryou instinctively closed his eyes.

Clang!

A sound like a bell ringing echoed, and the white light gradually disappeared. Ryou opened his eyes to see a cluster of tiny stars in the magic circle.

Seeing this, Ryou's face turned dark.

"Obtained 666 energy points!"

An inauspicious start!

Energy points were the system's currency, but as the system's probabilities indicated, they were the least valuable reward from a draw, only useful for purchasing items and equipment in the system's store.

Skills, Noble Phantasm cards, Heroic Spirit cards, and the most precious Descent cards could only be obtained through draws.

Had he not been in a cell, Ryou would have bathed, changed clothes, and prayed fervently. [: Is true that your luck will increase if you take a bath before pulling? Lol]

As for superstitions and mysticism, they might be a joke to others, but for Ryou, they were a matter of life and death!

Whether this first draw would be a success or not would determine if Ryou's starting difficulty would be easy or hellish!

Ryou silently prayed to all the gods and deities he could think of, but the system seemed to be mocking him.

"Obtained 4444 energy points!"

"Obtained energy points..."

...

Five consecutive times, he only got energy points. Aside from accumulating a sarcastically significant total of 23,333 points, he got nothing else.

Then, in the next three draws, something different appeared: two bottles of healing potions, the so-called red bottles, and a purple-glowing ring.

If this were an online game, getting a purple item might have been some consolation, but this was FGO! Heroic Spirit cards and Descent cards, those non-tradeable items, were the most valuable!

Ryou couldn't help but wonder if his luck had run out due to transmigrating.

Just as Ryou was about to despair, the system played another trick on him.

The light clusters on the magic circle suddenly radiated a circle of brilliant rainbow light, like a surrounding halo. At the same time, white feather-like magical particles emerged from the circle.

Ryou became excited immediately. Based on his years of card-drawing experience, it was a sign that something significant was about to appear, likely a five-star SSR!

"I am Scáthach, from the Land of Shadows. Shall I call you Master?"

Accompanied by a slightly husky, cold, and ancient voice, an elegant and slender figure appeared in the center of the magic circle.

Clad in a purple-black tight leather outfit, resembling provocative lingerie, she held two crimson spears. Her appearance was both that of a warrior and a queen. Her attire exuded sensuality, yet the blood-red spears and her cold, abyssal aura made people instinctively wary.

The tight leather perfectly highlighted her sexy, athletic body. Each muscle, each inch of her skin, exuded power without appearing unattractive or stiff, instead embodying a unique beauty of strength, like a powerful yet graceful panther.

A veil covered her face, adding to her mystery. The only visible part, her crimson eyes, were redder than blood, exuding a profound indifference and ancientness. Her long hair, cascading down to her waist, was as lustrous as fine wine, and the black veil symbolizing ill omen atop her head added an exotic allure.

This was the most famous warrior goddess from Celtic mythology, the one who trained numerous great heroes and warriors, who killed countless gods with a mortal's body, and ascended to the throne of the Land of Shadows through endless corpses—Scáthach!

Ryou's breathing quickened, and his heart raced. His attention was entirely captured by the Queen of the Land of Shadows before him, to the extent that he didn't notice the magic circle lighting up with golden brilliance again after Scáthach stepped out.

Being able to summon such a powerful figure in this dangerous place was fantastic!

It turned out that the system still favored him!

However, a minute later...

"Why can't you take me out of here!?"

Ryou asked urgently, his expression filled with agitation.

Originally, Ryou thought that with such a powerful ally, he could do whatever he wanted in this new world.

Who would have thought that when Ryou asked Scáthach to take him out, such a simple request would be denied?

Scáthach's reason was straightforward.

"This is merely a test. You must find a way to escape on your own."

Faced with Ryou's aggressive attitude, Scáthach's expression remained unchanged, her indifference to life unshaken.

"How is that possible? I've never undergone any training, and you want me to escape with my bare hands!?"

"If you wish to be my Master, if you can't even do this, then you may as well die here."

After delivering this extremely cold statement, Scáthach turned and began to walk away without looking back.

At the cell door, she extended her fingers, making a few gestures in the air. Several mysterious characters glowing with green light appeared and floated in the air. Then, Scáthach walked straight through the cell bars as if they didn't exist.

A shocking scene unfolded as the bars seemed to vanish, allowing Scáthach to pass through. The mysterious runes turned into green light particles and dissipated into the air.

Those seemingly insignificant runes were none other than Scáthach's signature skill—Primordial Runes!

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Ryou rushed to the bars, pounding on them forcefully.

"I am your Master! I summoned you! You can't do this to me!"

"Oh?"

Scáthach turned her head, a sudden playful smile appearing on her face.

"Then, my dear 'Master,' where is your Command Spell?"

"Command Spell?"

Prompted by Scáthach, Ryou looked at the back of his hand instinctively.

However, his hand was empty, and his face turned ashen.

The Command Spell, a miracle-like magical crystal akin to a holy mark, grants the absolute authority to command a Heroic Spirit. It is a Master's exclusive mark.

With a Command Spell, a Master can issue commands to a Heroic Spirit Servant, forcibly compelling them to obey even against their will, thanks to the overwhelming magical power. It is the ultimate tool for a Master to control a Heroic Spirit.

However, whether due to the system's twisted sense of humor or something else, Ryou could summon Heroic Spirits but had no corresponding Command Spell.

Moreover, Ryou summoned the true Heroic Spirits, not their Servant avatars made of magical energy.

The Heroic Spirits did not need Ryou to provide magical power.

This meant that, without a Command Spell or the ability to supply magical energy, Ryou had no control over the summoned Heroic Spirits!

"If you can escape from here with your abilities, I, Scáthach, swear by the honor of the Queen of the Land of Shadows to acknowledge you as my Master... If you unfortunately die here, I will kill everyone here to avenge you."

Leaving behind this cold and ruthless vow, Scáthach turned gracefully, her wine-red hair tracing a dazzling arc, and walked away.

Faced with Scáthach's cold indifference, Ryou forced himself to calm down.

In his twenty-plus years of life, he had learned one thing.

Pleading is meaningless; if you want to control your fate, you can only rely on yourself!

"Scáthach!!!"

The purple-black figure stopped but did not turn around.

"I'll show you! I will survive! Even if I have to crawl like a worm, I will survive!"

Ryou pointed at her back, his eyes blazing as if he wanted to set everything on fire.

Scáthach did not turn her head, but from the angle Ryou couldn't see, a rare smile appeared on her cold face before she gradually disappeared from his sight.

"Shut up, you filthy man! Do you have a death wish?"

Suddenly, a cursing voice was heard.

A figure appeared at the entrance of the cell—a female warrior with dark skin, covered in scars on her face and body, wearing revealing leather armor.

She brushed past the departing Scáthach, seemingly not seeing her at all, and walked straight to Ryou's cell door, impatiently tapping the bars with the sword in her hand.

"You damn pig! You're only good for breeding! If you ruin my sleep, I'll skin you alive!"

A dragon stranded in shallow waters is mocked by shrimp; a tiger fallen from grace is bullied by dogs.

It seemed as though this world intended to show the newly transmigrated Ryou the harshest and darkest malice.

Even a minor character could bully him, and the excitement of transmigrating to another world vanished.

Ryou hid his cold, fierce gaze.

At this moment, he was at others' mercy. He could only endure for now.

"Hmph! If the great goddess Ishtar didn't have a use for you lowly male slaves, you would have been killed long ago!" The female warrior made a throat-slitting motion as she spoke.

Seeing Ryou's silent demeanor, the female warrior thought he was scared. A contemptuous smile appeared on her ugly face as she cursed and turned to leave.

Relying on a powerful ally is unreliable! Everything depends on oneself!

With this realization, Ryou forced himself to calm down and began to analyze the situation. However, the more he analyzed, the more desperate he became.

In the world of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, an anime adapted from a light novel, the basic premise was simple: Since ancient times, countless monsters had surged from underground, and other races could barely survive under the leadership of a few heroes.

One day, the gods of the heavens descended to the mortal realm for amusement and granted humans a power called "Blessing." With this newfound strength, humans' overall power surged, and they drove the monsters back underground in one fell swoop. They then built the Tower of Babel to cover the entrance, sealing the monsters below.

Those humans who received the "Blessing" were called adventurers. They launched a counterattack into the dungeons occupied by monsters, and thus the story began...

The gods who descended did so purely for fun. They, like mortals, experienced the seven emotions and six desires and had different personalities. As a result, the mortal world gained a group of unrestrained hedonists.

Among them were those who revered light and justice, as well as those with dark and filthy hearts. Some cherished family harmony, while others appreciated bloodshed and violence.

Unfortunately, Ryou fell into the hands of a goddess representing the dark side.

The ugly woman earlier mentioned the name "Ishtar" and referred to her as the great goddess. Knowing the original work, Ryou immediately guessed who owned the prison.

It was none other than the goddess of beauty who controlled the Pleasure Quarter of the Night Street in the labyrinth city of Orario. Most of her subordinates were Amazons who also worked as prostitutes.

Orario, the labyrinth city, had developed around the lid of the dungeon, the Tower of Babel. This enormous city encompassed almost ninety-nine percent of the world's adventurers.

It was well-known that in cities where a large number of adventurers, mercenaries, soldiers, and similar professions gathered, places like taverns, brothels, and casinos were particularly thriving.

This was because those in professions where they risked their lives daily had immense mental pressure and needed various ways to release it. Thus, businesses involving alcohol, gambling, and sexual services prospered.

Goddess Ishtar was the underworld queen managing the brothels.

In Fate/Grand Order (FGO), there is also a beloved goddess Ishtar, known for her noble, glamorous, and sexy appearance, as well as the rarity of her five-star SSR card. Resembling the famous Type-Moon character Rin Tohsaka, fans affectionately call her "Ishtar Rin."

However, this Ishtar was different—a complete villainess who was a gang leader, brothel madam, and feminist all in one. She would use any means necessary to achieve her goals, even using her body as a bargaining chip—a thorough seductress goddess.

Being transported by the system into this goddess's prison, Ryou could foresee his fate with even his toes.

Everything now depended on himself...

...

It was already late at night. The events of this single day had been more exaggerated and intense than all of Ryou's previous years combined. He was utterly exhausted and had to force himself to sleep to conserve his energy.

But it was not that easy. His current situation left him terrified, and the damp, cold prison made it even harder to sleep.

Eventually, Ryou dozed off in a daze.

Little did he know that as he slept, a gaze penetrated the prison window, staring intently at his curled-up figure.

Scáthach stood silently on the roof of the cell, bathed in the moonlight that added a touch of serenity and mystery to her, her figure resembling a goddess of the night who ruled over darkness.

"Here, you can transform into a qualified warrior as quickly as possible."

"Even if you hate me, it's okay. Hatred will make you grow faster, growing into a warrior stronger than me, stronger than anyone... When that time comes, my wish will be fulfilled, and you will kill me with your own hands..."

Her whispered words gradually merged into the night.

...

Clang, clang, clang!

Ryou was in a deep, groggy sleep when he was suddenly awakened by a series of urgent knocks.

"Still sleeping!? You lazy pig!"

The female warrior with a face full of scars who had appeared at his cell door yesterday was back.

In a daze, Ryou, along with a group of ragged, homeless-looking men, was driven to a training ground. There, a dozen Amazons in scanty leather armor, with dark skin and cold smiles, awaited them.

Ryou quickly understood his situation: he had become a slave, specifically, a gladiator slave in the underground arena under the goddess Ishtar.

This was the worst possible start...

"You lowly man! You're not even as good as a child!"

The scar-faced female warrior kicked Ryou to the ground.

His previously fair and delicate face was now covered in dirt, his right cheek swollen and purple, with a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth. The Amazon warrior named Anatasia instinctively licked her lips, her inner brutality growing stronger.

Ryou lay on the ground, gasping for breath. His left hand gripped a wooden round shield, while his right hand's wooden sword had fallen to the side.

Just moments ago, the dozen Amazons had divided the slave gladiators into groups, making them either spar with each other or be taught combat techniques by an Amazon.

Because Ryou's appearance was different from the other slaves—his hands were not calloused, his skin was fair, and he looked like a rich kid who had never suffered—he received special treatment.

Anatasia, under the guise of one-on-one training, forcibly dragged him aside and began what was more like torture than training.

The other Amazons not only did not stop her, but they pointed and laughed. The other slaves either watched with cold indifference or with schadenfreude.

Before his transmigration, Ryou was just a homebody with various occupational ailments and a weak constitution. He couldn't compare to adventurers who had received "blessings," nor could he match these long-term laboring slaves. He had almost no power to fight back and was beaten black and blue.

However, the indifference and betrayal from Scathach, Anatasia's abuse, and the harsh environment did not make him despair. Instead, they completely ignited his stubbornness.

He was knocked down by Anatasia again and again, but he kept getting back up and charging at her like a mad dog!

Ryou didn't know if it was his imagination, but he felt that every time he was injured, a 'warm flow' would emanate from the wound, quickly spreading through his body, making him feel stronger.

This strange phenomenon became more pronounced as his injuries worsened.

What Ryou didn't notice was that, as time passed, his minor wounds and some of the swollen, purple areas were healing rapidly, seemingly slowly but very quickly.

Despite being repeatedly knocked down, he kept getting up. Instead of weakening, he seemed to be getting stronger with each battle.

Initially, Anatasia felt a perverse pleasure and excitement from bullying the weak, but gradually, she became numb.

In the end, this battle-hardened upper-level adventurer, who had killed hundreds of monsters and was level 2, felt a twinge of fear. She faced him, who was covered in wounds and blood yet kept getting up and charging at her like a demon emerging from hell.

Fear combined with the repetitive actions made Anatasia slightly sluggish, and Ryou seized this moment.

"Ah!!!"

He roared, suddenly dropping his wooden sword and shield and lunging at Anatasia, wrapping his arms around her waist.

It was nothing like he imagined; there was no soft, warm body, only the stench of sweat and rock-hard muscles. Anatasia was exactly as she appeared—nothing like a woman, but a steel muscle person through and through.

But at that moment, Ryou had only one thought: hold on to her tightly!

"Damn pig! Let go of me!"

Anatasia snapped back to reality.

Seeing the surprised and mocking expressions of her companions around her, she became extremely furious and started elbowing Ryou's back.

Ryou roared like a wounded beast, spitting out blood, but he refused to let go.

"Die!"

Anatasia, humiliated and enraged, raised her wooden sword and brought the hilt down hard on his head!

Bang!

Ryou was merely an ordinary human, while Anatasia was a level 2 adventurer, her strength likely surpassing that of the strongest man on Earth. Instantly, Ryou's head was split open, blood streaming down as he collapsed.

Even so, his hand instinctively grasped Anatasia's ankle.

"How pathetic, Anatasia."

"Yeah, being grappled by a slave like that. Maybe you went too hard with a man last night."

"Hahaha!!"

The nearby Amazons making fun of Anatasia.

"Hmph!"

Anatasia snorted coldly but didn't respond. Instead, she kicked Ryou.

Ryou's actions had greatly embarrassed her.

"Anatasia, be careful not to kill him. It wouldn't look good when reporting to the higher-ups," one Amazon said, feigning concern.

"Hmph! Just a slave. If he dies, he dies," Anatasia said, pretending to be calm. However, when her gaze fell on Ryou lying on the ground, her eyes revealed a cautious wariness and a hint of barely perceptible fear.

Anatasia picked up the unconscious Ryou and tossed him back into the cell before walking away.

As for treating his wounds? That wasn't going to happen.

Anatasia intended to let Ryou fend for himself.

However, as Anatasia's footsteps faded from the cell, Ryou suddenly opened his eyes!

'I'm just a homebody with a constitution worse than the average person. It doesn't make sense for me to recover so quickly... There must be some factor I'm not noticing!'

Ryou's eyes were calm and sharp, showing no sign of madness.

'System, open my personal attributes!'

With Ryou's mental command, a system interface, similar to an RPG game, appeared before his eyes, visible only to him.

Name: Nguyen Ryou

Race: Human

Class: None

Level: Unranked

Basic Attributes:

Strength: 8.4 (F-)

Agility: 9.6 (F-)

Endurance: 10.2 (F)

(For ordinary people, the average attribute value is 10, except for Magic. Below 10 is F-, between 15 and 20 is E-, and so on.)

Luck: ???

Class Skills: None

Possessed Skills: None

Noble Phantasm:

Crying Warmonger (Degraded)

=====

The basic attributes were as he expected. However, when he saw the last line, "Noble Phantasm," he was taken aback.

"When did I acquire a Noble Phantasm!? ... Wait a minute..."

Ryou suddenly remembered that after summoning Scathach, the magic circle did indeed emit a golden glow, signifying the acquisition of a rare treasure. But in his excitement after drawing her, he had completely forgotten about it.

Who would have thought that the thing he didn't value would end up saving his life!

Ryou was 100% certain that without the Noble Phantasm "Crying Warmonger," given his frail body, he would be dead if left here without treating his injuries!

Anatasia!!!

That damned Amazon must have done it on purpose!

But it's a pity; I've already found the key to getting stronger!

Sooner or later... Anatasia... and you, Scathach... I will personally kill you both!

The image of the slender back that had abandoned him without a second thought flashed through Ryou's mind, and his eyes gleamed with a sharp, blade-like coldness.

Name: Howl of the Wounded Beast (Crying Warmonger)

Rank: C (A)

Type: Anti-Unit (Self) Noble Phantasm

Range: 0

Maximum Target: 1 person

Origin: Spartacus

A constantly active Noble Phantasm. After successfully enduring an enemy's attack, it restores physical strength and mana, then nullifies and reflects similar attacks.

(Due to the host's excessively weak constitution, the full effect cannot be withstood, thus the Noble Phantasm's effect is degraded: After successfully enduring an enemy's attack, it restores a small amount of physical strength and mana, and stores the excess mana to comprehensively enhance the host's physical attributes.)

====

Spartacus, the legendary gladiator who led a massive slave revolt in ancient Rome and was one of the key figures in the decline of the Roman Empire, remains a household name even today, with his story adapted into numerous films and TV shows.

The "Crying Warmonger" Noble Phantasm is an exaltation of Spartacus's legend of "inevitable victory through reversal."

If it were the complete version of the Noble Phantasm, its effect would be akin to a variant of the "Twelve Labors"—as long as the enemy couldn't deliver a fatal blow, their attacks would not only be nullified but also reflected. It would be like the rule that "the same attack cannot be used twice on a Saint Seiya," making it the ultimate trump card for prolonged battles.

Although the Noble Phantasm's rank was degraded due to his poor physical constitution, for the current him, this Noble Phantasm was the perfect treasure to quickly transform him from a weakling into a powerful warrior, making it one of the most suitable Noble Phantasms for his current state.

PS: There's no Command spell yet because Scathach came from free ten pull and this is trial dungeon. In next world there will be command spell.

Scathach was just too Op. The story will be boring if she actively engaged in the start of the story. She only act as safe device to ensure the MC will not die in critical moments.
