Chapter 42 - Chapter 42 - Techniques

"Each of you has unique skills to master," Sasaki continued. "Goru, you will focus on enhancing your Demonic Iron Fist techniques. Shiro, you will perfect your Demonic Moon Sword techniques. And Kuro, you will delve deeper into your Demonic Mirage techniques."

The techniques Sasaki and his sons are learning are like books with many chapters, each teaching multiple skills.

For instance, Goru is learning the Demonic Iron Fist Technique. One of its skills is called Heaven Slash. This skill allows Goru to gather chaos energy in his palm. With a swing of his hand, he can cut through reality itself, creating a rift between the mortal world and the heaven realm.

Shiro, on the other hand, is mastering the Demonic Moon Sword Technique. One of its skills is Lunar Strike.

Shiro focuses chaos energy into his sword, and with a single swing, he releases a powerful, crescent-shaped energy wave that can slice through anything in its path.

Kuro is working on the Demonic Mirage Technique. A key skill he is learning is called Shadow Mirage.

By using chaos energy to bend light and shadows, Kuro can create illusions that confuse and mislead enemies. This skill lets him become invisible or create false images to trick his foes.

Sasaki himself has received the Shadow Teleportation Technique, which includes the Shadow Step skill.

This skill allows Sasaki to move instantly from one shadow to another within a certain range, helping him avoid attacks and surprise his enemies.

Along with this, he will learn the Shadow Wings skill, which lets him manifest wings made of pure shadow, allowing him to fly silently through the air.

Additionally, the Shadow Cloak skill will enables him to wrap himself in a cloak of darkness, making him invisible and allowing him to move unseen.

But these powerful techniques require a lot of practice to master. Each skill builds on the previous one, creating a comprehensive set of abilities that make Sasaki and his sons closer to manifest the true nature of demonic powers.

Previously, Goru, Shiro, and Kuro had focused solely on forming the chaos ring, not yet mastering the skills contained within their respective techniques.

The techniques Sasaki passed on to them included both the method to cultivate the chaos ring and the various offensive and defensive skills.

In contrast, Sasaki had obtained the pure breathing technique to cultivate the chaos ring through the Chaos and Heart technique, which was solely focused on chaos ring cultivation and did not include any offensive or defensive skills.

For four months, they had lived in complete isolation within the enclosed cave. Sasaki was increasingly worried about the possibility of someone discovering their hiding place. Although the only way to reach the isolated island was by ship, which took one to two months, Sasaki feared that higher-ranking individuals with teleportation abilities might find them and detect their presence.

To prepare for any such threats, Sasaki knew they needed to master their offensive and defensive skills quickly.

Sasaki dismissed his three sons with a wave of his hand, instructing them to train for another month.

He told them they would reconvene in six months, marking one year of their intense training. The three brothers understood Sasaki's gesture, bowed respectfully, and returned to their respective training rooms to master the skills of their techniques.

As they left, a new main quest appeared before Sasaki.

[New Main Quest 3: Master the Shadow Technique]

[Main Quest 3 Objective: Master all three skills offered by the Shadow technique within the time limit]

[Reward: Chaos Dance Technique]

[Penalty: None]

[Deadline: 3 months]

[Quest automatically accepted]

Sasaki was thrilled at the prospect of mastering the Shadow Technique to earn the Chaos Dance Technique. Though he did not know the exact nature of the reward, the name suggested it might be an offensive skill, which he desperately needed. His heart raced with excitement as he thought about how many skills he could potentially learn with the Chaos Dance Technique.

He took a deep breath, raising his hands as he inhaled and lowering them as he exhaled, calming his mind and heart. With a focused resolve, he muttered to himself, "Let's focus, Sasaki. First things first: master the Shadow Technique."

As Sasaki sat in a meditative pose and closed his eyes, the darkness in the cave began to envelop him.

From this darkness, shadowy figures emerged behind Sasaki, their forms constantly shifting and vibrating.

One of these figures placed its hand on Sasaki, transferring the knowledge of the Shadow Technique directly into his mind. Sasaki's eyes tensed slightly as the knowledge of the Shadow Step, Shadow Cloak, and Shadow Wings flowed into him.

Sasaki knew he had only three months to master these skills. He dedicated one month to each: the first month for Shadow Step, the second month for Shadow Cloak, and the third month for Shadow Wings.

Surprisingly, the Shadow Technique also included other skills like Shadow Bullet and Shadow Veil. However, as a reward for choosing The One System, Sasaki already knew these two skills. Now, he needed to master the three remaining skills to complete the set of the Shadow Technique.

Learning these skills required more than just meditation; Sasaki needed to practice and understand how to manifest the skills by channeling chaos energy from his mana heart. Each skill required a minimum amount of chaos energy to maintain and had its own cooldown period.

Sasaki pondered the nature of these skills and how he could manifest them. Fortunately, his previous enlightenment on using mana to create matter that didn't exist in reality had prepared him for this task.

With the knowledge now imprinted in his mind, Sasaki didn't need to discover the way himself. It was like reading a manual: he simply had to follow the instructions to assemble the DIY project.

Sasaki sat quietly and asked himself an important question: "Why do I need to practice these skills if I already have the knowledge in my mind?" As he thought deeply, he realized the answer.

Sasaki understood that just having knowledge wasn't enough. He needed to connect his mind and body to truly control the power inside him. This was like the self-enlightenment he experienced when he was lost in the quantum world.
