Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 - Shadow

At the entrance of the goblin den, Sasaki's voice thundered out, deep and unsettling, echoing through the dense leaves and branches. From the shadows at his feet, a creature began to form - a raven, its feathers as dark as midnight, its eyes gleaming like polished stones.

Its aura, a mixture of shadowy greens and deep blacks, wrapped around it like a shroud of secrecy, adding an air of mystique and intrigue to the raven's presence.

Tilting its head curiously, the raven acknowledged its master and elegantly took flight, landing on Sasaki's shoulder with a gentle flutter of feathers. As their eyes locked, a quiet understanding passed between them, a connection formed deep in the heart of the forest.

The connection between the raven and Sasaki was deep, rooted in a sense of duty and loyalty. From the moment the raven came into existence, it knew its purpose - to serve him unquestioningly. Its life was wholly dedicated to him, bound by a strong sense of loyalty and belonging.

[Connection established. Name the raven to unlock its skills...]

"Hmm... a name?" Sasaki pondered aloud, his brow furrowed in thought.

"A name..." he mused, considering the essence of the creature that emerged from the shadows, guiding him through the darkness.

"You, who emerge from my shadow, who always guide me from the depths of darkness... I shall grant you a name," he declared, a small smile playing at the corners of his lips.

"Shadow, my guide," he proclaimed, bestowing upon the raven a name that spoke of their unbreakable bond.

[Your first raven is registered as "Shadow."]

[Both unlockable skills at the current level 1, "Share Sense" and "Scavenger Gaze," are now unlocked.]

Sasaki's world shifted in an instant as he bestowed the name "Shadow" upon his raven companion. With the naming, two new skills unlocked, and Sasaki's mind was blown away by the possibilities they presented. It was like a door had opened to a whole new world before his very eyes.

Suddenly, his vision sharpened, as if a veil had been lifted, granting him clarity even in the darkest depths of the forest. What was once shrouded in shadows now lay clear before him, illuminated with a newfound clarity that surpassed even the light of day.

"Fly, Shadow, show me what lies ahead," Sasaki commanded, his voice filled with anticipation and wonder.

Responding to his master's call, Shadow took to the skies, his wings carrying him effortlessly as he scanned the terrain below. With keen eyesight and unwavering focus, he scoured the forest floor for any signs of danger or opportunity.

Meanwhile, Sasaki closed his eyes, his mind entering a state of deep concentration. With the skill 'Share Sense,' he sought to tap into Shadow's senses, seeing through his eyes and hearing through his ears. In an instant, the world around him became crystal clear, every detail vivid and precise, as if he himself were soaring through the sky alongside his feathered companion.

It was a sensation unlike any other, as if his senses had been liberated from the confines of his body, free to roam the vast expanse of the forest with unparalleled clarity and precision.

From high above in sky, the forest spread out like a radiating like a three-dimensional painting beneath Shadow's wings. Tall trees reached towards the sky, their green leafy tops creating detailed patterns of light and shadow on the gently rolling forest floor below.

Cliffs and rugged rock formations emphasize the landscape, their weathered faces contrasting sharply with the lush greenery.

Rivers snaked through the scene like winding silver ribbons, their soft murmurs blending a peaceful melody into the wild landscape. Bushes and thickets added layers of depth and texture to the terrain, offering refuge for creatures large and small.

In the darkness, concealed from view, creatures of various shapes and sizes lurked. Some prowled the forest floor, moving swiftly and silently as they hunted prey.

Others lay in wait among the tall grass, their sharp eyes fixed on unsuspecting prey. In the forest's shadows, unseen dangers lurked at every turn, their presence sensed more than seen, moving stealthily akin to the shadows themselves.

Shadow had an exceptional sense of hearing, a mysterious gift. Even high up in the sky, he could hear every faint noise from the forest beneath. He easily picked up the quiet steps of a hunting animal, sounds that people usually can't hear.

The gentle rustle of leaves as they fluttered to the forest floor, the faint shake of grass disturbed by hidden creatures - it was like music to his ears, each sound painting a picture of life in the woods. And Shadow was sharing all these information to Sasaki using "Share Sense" skill.

Sasaki stayed careful and didn't go further into the woods. He let his trusted summon, Shadow, check out the deeper parts. Shadow found a small open area surrounded by big trees.

In this open space, a small, lively fire was making shadows move on the ground. Around the fire, there were people in shiny silver armor, their faces showing, with swords by their sides.

But Sasaki's eye was drawn to something unusual to the left of the group. There, a line of cages stood, and in one cage, a prisoner sat with grace, even though she was captured.

She looked like she might be from a noble family, sitting proudly even though she was locked up. She sat with her long silver hair falling down, touching the cold metal of the cage. Her golden eyes sparkled with a bit of rebellion, even though her hands were locked in strange cuffs.

Sasaki's brows furrowed in bewilderment as he took in the sight of these unexpected prisoner. With a closer look, he activated the "Scavenger Gaze" skill to appraise the prisoner and the four enigmatic figures.

[Race: Human]

[Level: ???]

[Class: Witch]

[Race: Human]

[Level: 30]

[Class: Swordsman]

Among them were three Swordsmen, their levels ranging from 20 to 25. Sasaki realized they were powerful figures whom he could not yet hope to defeat in head on fight.

"Unbelievable, I can't even see the girl's level," Sasaki muttered, lifting his head in amazement, his hand sliding from his eyes to his chin as he processed the information about the witch. "How much stronger is she? There are three question marks in her level. Could she be at level 100, 300, or even 999?"

"But if she's so powerful, how did they even capture her?" Sasaki muttered to himself, puzzled by the scene before him.

A somber tone filled his voice as he speculated on the reason behind the prisoner. "I'd better not get involved in something dangerous," he reasoned, uncertainty evident in his voice. "Not until I understand more about how this world operates. For now, finding a safe place to rest is my priority."
