Chapter 5 - Picking up Steam.

Master Ebuka woke up groggy and disoriented, his head spinning. A sharp pain shot through his arm, and when he looked, there was a strange wound, one he couldn't remember getting. His mind was blank, and panic crept in as he tried to recall how he'd ended up in this state. He turned to Abby, who hastily tucked away a gun, her hands trembling slightly.

"Abby... what happened?" he asked, confused.

Abby avoided his gaze, surveying the wreckage of her base. "We need to move," she said, ignoring his question. "We're relocating to Sydney." She didn't offer an explanation, and Ebuka, still grappling with his memory loss, was in no position to question her further.

"Then, to Sydney, we shall go."

A FEW DAYS LATER

Master had found himself in a forest. Why?

Well, the question shall be answered. He stopped his walking in his tracks as he came across an ever stretching, super large mountain. Which, he easily began to scale.

In less than 10 minutes, he had reached the top. His reward?

The power, of the Fountain of Youth.

As Master Ebuka approached the Fountain of Youth, its shimmering waters pulsed with a strange energy. The heart of the forest lay within reach—power beyond measure. But before he could claim it, Elaine stepped from the shadows.

"Ah. Hello there child. I have come to claim what is rightfully mine."

"State your business." she replied, coldly.

"Did you not just hear me?"

She scoffed. "I didn't think you'd be stupid enough to actually do that."

Then, she decided to take a look at this seemingly overconfident young man, by using her telepathy. But when she did, she was terrified.

"Y-you're serious? That's you're intention?"

"Problem?"

"You think you can take the heart of the forest and walk away, Ebuka?" she growled, vines slithering around her as if the forest itself responded to her call. "I won't let an evil man like you corrupt this sacred place."

"Evil?" Master Ebuka smirked, but a glint of unease flickered in his eyes. "You have no idea what power truly means."

With a flick of her wrist, the vines lashed out. Master Ebuka barely had time to react, as he was launched off the impossibly high cliff. With his life flashing before his eyes, the seven Chaos Emeralds glowed in his pocket, reacting to his will. In a brilliant flash of light, his body surged with their energy, and he transformed into Super Master Ebuka, his golden aura blazing as he hovered above the ground.

He could feel the weight of the battle pressing down on him, as he dodged a vine, which whipped at him at Mach speeds.

"Despite wielding the immense power of the 7 Chaos Emeralds, defeating her won't be easy feat."

He dodged a strong gust of wind, which carried away the trees surrounding him.

"Her determination and command over nature are formidable. I need to think outside the box if I desire any chance of victory."

Instead of charging in headfirst, He kept his distance and began to fire Chaos Spears to maintain a safe gap between himself and Elaine.

"I need to catch her off guard!"

As he shot the first spread, she was caught off guard, trying to manoeuvre around them with her wings. In the midst of it, Master was able to land a detrimental blow, and punch her in the head.

She couldn't even see where the blows were coming from, due to the sheer number of fast projectiles! At first, this tactic seemed to be working, but Elaine quickly adapted. Instead of pursuing him directly, she spread her vines across the entire ancient tree that housed the fountain. The writhing vines twisted and turned, relentlessly pursuing Master Ebuka with an eerie persistence. He knew that if he got caught, the outcome would be dire.

Elaine gritted her teeth. "So, you think that'll save you?"

"We'll see," Master Ebuka said, his voice now deeper, more powerful.

The battle exploded with ferocity. Elaine summoned every force of the forest, her vines twisting into massive spears, but Super Master Ebuka was faster than she could anticipate, dodging her attacks with ease. He fired off Chaos Spears in rapid succession, forcing her to retreat, but she quickly adapted, striking at him from multiple angles.

As the fight reached its peak, Master Ebuka charged up a Chaos Beam, the energy crackling violently in his hands. "This ends now!" he shouted, aiming directly at Elaine, intent on erasing her from existence.

But before he could fire, Ban, the silent guardian of the forest, leaped into the line of fire. The Chaos Beam struck him full force, vaporizing him instantly. Elaine, spared from the blast, stared in shock as her protector was reduced to ash.

Ebuka, though briefly stunned, saw his chance. He flew toward the fountain, but his power began to wane. The strain of the fight and the use of the Chaos Emeralds were too much. Inches from the fountain, his Super Form faltered, and he collapsed, mortal once more.

Elaine, her grief turning to rage, staggered to the fountain and drank deeply from its waters. The magical liquid rejuvenated her, healing her wounds and restoring her strength. Now fully revitalized, she towered over the fallen Master Ebuka, ready to strike him down.

"You'll never touch the heart of this forest!" she screamed, preparing to deliver the final blow.

But with one last surge of willpower, Master Ebuka activated the Chaos Aura, sending a shockwave that blasted Elaine back. In the confusion, he grabbed a single drop of the fountain's water, quickly sealing it in a Ziploc bag.

"Too slow," he muttered, his voice weak but triumphant. Before Elaine could recover, he vanished in a burst of light, using Chaos Control to warp away.

Meanwhile...in the scorching heat of Sydney...

Abby's base had been infiltrated.

There was a bright, beautiful girl, with long blue hair. The moonlight shone across her blue eyes as she slipped through the defences like a shadow in the night, dispatching the unfortunate guards with cold precision.

Not a single camera could capture her. She bypassed the security systems with practised ease, and every movement was calculated. When she finally reached Abby's room, she found the criminal was somehow still awake, hunched over a lab table, her hands busy with a weird substance. She hid as she waited for Abby, who was exhausted from the gruelling work and with no sign of Master Ebuka to oversee the experiment, Abby had decided to rest, retreating into her cryo-chamber. This was exactly the opportunity she had been waiting for.

Before she began, she decided to read a case file. It looked pretty simple.

Shadow Matter.

Shadow Matter, a dangerous material born from humanity's darkest desires, was Abby's latest obsession. She had been experimenting with it for hours, attempting to create an evil twin sister using the malevolent substance. Not like it matters right now though.

"Well, that was easy," the girl, Lucy muttered to herself. She began loading her bags with as many valuables as she could carry, ready for a clean getaway. But just as she was about to leave, a guard she hadn't killed managed to trigger the emergency alarm. The blaring sound echoed through the base, and to Lucy's dismay, it also deactivated Abby's cryo-chamber. Despite only being in cryo-sleep for ten minutes, Abby emerged fully alert.

"And where exactly do you think you're going with that loot?" Abby demanded, her voice cold. She pointed a gun at Lucy, her finger hovering over the trigger. "Put back the stolen goods, and I might just shoot you in the leg as a warning. Try anything stupid, and that'll be your last surprise."

"Sorry, girl. This loot belongs to me now. If you want it, you'll have to take it from my cold, dead hands."

Abby's eyes narrowed. "That can be arranged."

Suddenly, Lucy unsheathed a sword. It flashed against a dim light, as she slashed at Abby with deadly precision.

Attempting to shoot before she could use it, she quickly realized that this opponent was different.

"She's...too fast!"

Abby quickly realized that her pistol was of little use against Lucy's speed and agility. She however also noticed that Lucy's sword was made of Carbonate, a material known for nullifying healing factors, Abby knew she had to change her strategy. With her nanobots struggling to keep up with the damage, Abby finally fired her pistol, landing a direct shot on Lucy's left leg.

"You really thought you could just stroll into my base, steal my valuables, and kill me?" Abby taunted, aiming her pistol at Lucy's head. "You must be out of your mind if you thought this plan would work."

But Lucy wasn't done yet. "I wouldn't count on that just yet, Windsor."

"Of course she knows my na-

With a swift motion, she pulled out a can of pepper spray and doused Abby's eyes. Abby cried out in pain, dropping her pistol, and Lucy seized the moment to make her escape. "Sayonara, Abby! Make sure to tell Master Ebuka about your failure to catch me!"

As Abby wiped the burning spray from her eyes, she screamed in frustration. "You won't get away with this! I'll hunt you down, and you'll pay for what you've done!"

LATER

Master Ebuka was en route to Sydney, responding to Abby's distress call. "Abby, what's the situation?" he asked, his voice tense.

"A thief broke into my base and stole around $30 billion worth of valuables," Abby reported. "You need to get here now!"

"Come on, that's barely a dent in your wallet!"

"Does that matter?"

"We're on our way. Hang in there," Master Ebuka replied, his mind racing with the urgency of the situation.

His team, including Pack Attack and Cyberman65, shared his concern. "I hope Abby is okay, Master," Pack Attack said.

"Correction; she IS in trouble," Cyberman65 added. "I had anticipated a robbery at the Hacker's Nest, but it seems this thief's intentions were far more sinister. She also tried to kill Abby."

"We need to get there immediately! Double time!"

As their Boeing 777 touched down at Kingsford International, Master Ebuka and his crew made a beeline for the Hacker's Nest. But by the time they arrived, Lucy was long gone, and they found Abby fuming with rage, spinning around in a chair.

"Abby, where did the thief go?" Master Ebuka asked urgently. "We need to chase her down."

"I think she was headed for Sydney Kingsford International," Abby replied, frustration evident in her voice.

"Good, we can stop her the- hang on how did you know that?" Master Ebuka asked.

She shrugged.

The MEAME team caused quite a ruckus at the airport, delaying every available flight in their frantic search for Lucy. But their efforts were in vain—Lucy wasn't escaping by air, but by sea. By the time they realized this, it was too late.

Abby was livid. "I can't believe she got away with this! We need to find that thief right now!"

"Don't worry," Master Ebuka said, trying to calm her. "I have a way to identify the thief. Is it true you shot her in the left leg?"

"Yes, I did. We can identify her by that wound," Abby confirmed.

With that, Master Ebuka returned to his headquaters London and began scanning for female criminals with a telltale bullet wound. But none of the suspects matched. Just as frustration was setting in, that same girl, appeared right in front of him.

"Hi, Master. What's got you so worked up?" she asked, feigning innocence.

"A thief robbed my good friend not too long ago," Master Ebuka replied, his suspicions still gnawing at him. "I have a hunch it might have been a traitor from my super secret evil organization, but I can't prove it yet."

"Oh geez, that sounds rough," Lucy said with a sympathetic smile. "Hey, how about I invite you over to my place in Doha? It'll be a nice break."

Master Ebuka hesitated for a moment, as this was completely out of nowhere. But he eventually nodded. "I suppose I've been working too much. I accept your offer, Miss..."

"Bakers. Lucy Samantha Bakers."

"I have got to remember the names of my workers more often."

As Lucy turned to leave, she paused and looked back. "Oh, and in case you're wondering, Master—I wasn't the one who stole from Abby."

Master Ebuka's eyes widened in shock. "Wait, what?!"

"And just so you know," she added with a sly grin, "I'll look very different the next time you see me."

With that, Lucy walked away, leaving Master Ebuka with more questions than answers. The mystery deepened, but one thing was clear—MEAME's troubles were far from over.
