The first light of dawn filtered through the trees, casting long shadows across the forest floor. The united packs were already stirring, preparing for the day ahead. The air was thick with a mix of anticipation and uncertainty. Despite their recent victories, the threat of the Elders of the Night still loomed large. Alex knew they couldn't afford to rest on their laurels.
As he stepped out of his tent, Alex was greeted by Marcus, who had a grave expression on his face. "We have a situation," Marcus said without preamble. "Several scouts haven't reported back from their patrols."
Alex's brow furrowed with concern. "How long have they been missing?"
"Since last night," Marcus replied. "It's not like them to miss check-ins. I fear the worst."
Alex nodded, his mind racing with possibilities. "We need to find them. Organize search parties and make sure they're well-armed. We don't know what we're dealing with."
