Chapter 195 - Chapter 195

The Sun family planned to form a marital alliance with the Huang family. Jazmin was fairly satisfied with Arthur and naturally disliked her fiancé having eyes for another woman, especially one he had a past with.

Jazmin was the first to stand up, addressing Arthur, "Arthur, let's go over and offer a toast."

"Alright," Arthur replied with a gentle smile.

Jazmin immediately hooked her arm around Arthur's, heading toward Saira.

"Saira, Arthur and I are here to toast the future star," Jazmin said with an air of superiority, leaning against Arthur as if declaring her ownership.

Under the table, Saira's hand clenched into a tight fist. She forced a smile, determined not to give anyone the satisfaction of seeing her falter. She raised her glass. "This is nothing, really. But I do wish you and Arthur a lifetime of happiness together."

As they approached, all eyes subtly turned toward them. Everyone from Windsor knew about the complicated history between these three.

Arthur and Saira were once engaged, but after the Lin family fell, the Huang family unilaterally called off the engagement. The Lin family couldn't afford to challenge them and had to endure it.

The Huang family then arranged a marriage with the Sun family, uniting the Windsor beauty Jazmin and Arthur— a match that everyone found quite fitting.

Jazmin smiled and accepted the toast, "Thank you for your blessings, Saira. Arthur and I will indeed last forever."

With that, she stood on tiptoe and kissed Arthur on the cheek.

The crowd immediately erupted in cheers, their voices filled with playful teasing.

"Huang Shao, shouldn't you return the kiss?"

"Yeah, give her a kiss back!"

"Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!"

Everyone chanted, seemingly forgetting Saira's presence, or that she was once engaged to Arthur.

Saira looked around at the faces surrounding her, feeling a deep disgust for them all.

She had to hide her true feelings, maintaining a smile as if she, too, was enjoying watching Arthur and Jazmin flaunt their love— as if she was unfazed by Jazmin's provocation.

Arthur, overwhelmed by the crowd's enthusiasm, gave in and kissed Jazmin on the lips. What was meant to be a quick peck turned into a passionate French kiss as Jazmin took the initiative.

"Oh wow!!!"

The atmosphere instantly ignited.

Saira's hand gripped so tightly that her nails dug into her palm, but she didn't notice.

Next to her, Shaina noticed Saira's discomfort and smiled. "Saira, do you know whose daughter Zuri is?"

Saira turned her head, her tone harsh, "Who cares whose bastard she is?"

"Bastard?" Shaina chuckled. "You'd better watch your words, or Azura or the Feng family might have your head."

Already fuming, Saira snapped back, "She's just a sycophant, currying favor with the Feng family."

Shaina laughed softly, "Saira, how naive you are. No wonder your Lin family crumbled without knowing what hit you. I feel bad for you, so let me share a secret."

Saira frowned.

Shaina leaned closer and whispered in her ear, "Zuri is the legitimate fourth daughter of the Feng family, one of the eight great families of the Imperial Capital."

Saira's eyes widened. "That's impossible!"

Shaina shrugged. "It's the truth. Her status is highly esteemed. I only found out by overhearing a conversation between Azura and Farida. Shocking, isn't it? Hardly anyone knows this secret."

Saira stared at Shaina, struggling to process the shocking news.

Zuri, that bastard? How could she possibly be the daughter of the Feng family?

How could this be…

"Why are you telling me this?"

Why tell you? Of course, because someone wanted me to.

Shaina had nearly collapsed when she first learned Zuri's true identity. She thought Zuri called her to settle scores for all the times she had caused trouble. To her surprise, Zuri offered her a deal.

Zuri wanted her to "accidentally" leak this secret to Saira. If she did, their past grievances would be forgotten.

It didn't take long to decide. As for why Zuri wanted to do this or what her purpose was, Shaina didn't know, nor did she care.

Shaina shrugged again. "I've had my differences with Zuri, but after learning who she really is, it's been eating me up inside. I just needed to share it with someone. Oh, and let's not forget, your relationship with Zuri is much worse than mine."

Saira gritted her teeth.

This woman was doing it on purpose.

Back when she was still the Lin family's young lady, Shaina had been nothing more than a sycophant, wagging her tail like a lapdog. Now, she was trying to disgust her with this revelation.

She wanted to see her fear, her terror— but dream on!

"Don't worry. My relationship with Zuri is just fine."

Just as she finished speaking, there was a sudden outcry from the crowd.

"Oh my god!"

Arthur, who had just finished the intense kiss, suddenly felt dizzy. He barely registered the gasps around him before someone exclaimed, "Huang Shao, your nose and ears are bleeding!"

Arthur touched his nose, feeling the sticky blood on his fingers. As he stared at the blood in his hand, his body went limp, and he collapsed.

Chaos erupted.

Saira looked at Arthur's fallen form, her heart pounding.

Could it be that drug…

The thought barely formed before she dismissed it.

Impossible, absolutely impossible.

The dose she used was so small, it couldn't have caused this.

He must have some other illness. It has nothing to do with her.

Saira tried to convince herself.

Arthur was taken away in an ambulance, but Saira didn't follow. She returned directly to the Qin family.

As soon as she entered, her aunt's mocking voice greeted her, "Some people just have all the luck— don't need to lift a finger, yet they have food, clothing, everything handed to them. Such a charmed life."

Normally, Saira would try to appease her, but today she was too distracted. She ignored her aunt's words completely.

Mrs. Qin, seeing herself ignored, was instantly enraged. "Where are your manners? How dare you ignore your elders! If you don't want to see me, then get out of the Qin house."

Dalia heard the commotion and came out of her room. Noticing her daughter's troubled expression and her sister-in-law's anger, she quickly intervened.

"Sister-in-law, Saira must be tired. Please, don't take it out on the younger generation."

"The Qin family feeds you, clothes you, gives you a roof over your head, and you repay us with attitude? Ungrateful wretches."

Hearing her words become more and more offensive, Dalia's expression darkened.

"Stop this at once!" The old Mrs. Qin entered the room, pushed in her wheelchair by a servant.

Mrs. Qin saw her mother-in-law and begrudgingly fell silent.

If not for the old lady's protection, she would have long thrown this mother and daughter out of the Qin house.

Dalia took the dazed Saira upstairs to their room, closing the door behind them, her expression immediately turning stern.

"What did you do to make her angry? Haven't I told you to keep her sweet? Not to provoke her?" Dalia scolded angrily.

"Mom, do you know whose daughter Zuri is?"

Suddenly, Saira looked up at her.
