Azura opened her laptop, fingers flying across the keyboard, quickly pulling up a document.
"The person who first posted the out-of-context clips is him. His name is Li Le, an employee in the PR department at Yingxian Media. So far, there's nothing unusual about him."
Azura tapped a couple of keys, and the screen changed. "The guy who shamelessly doxxed you online is Zhao Qianhong, a junior in computer science at Oceanic University. He has some skills with computers, but he's no match for me. You wouldn't believe the filth on his computer—endless videos from those Japanese islands. It made me sick."
Zuri watched as Azura animatedly recounted how she hacked through his firewall and planted a virus on his computer.
Confident, flamboyant...
Even with her heavy smokey eye makeup, Azura's brilliance couldn't be hidden.
"Can you pull up the surveillance footage from the school entrance and the street cameras?" Zuri instructed.
Azura confidently flashed an "OK" sign and started typing rapidly again, lines of dizzying code appearing on the screen.
Zuri didn't understand much about hacking, but Azura's skills seemed impressive.
Ten minutes later, Azura stopped typing and pressed the space bar. Surveillance footage appeared on the computer, showing yesterday's events.
"There are too many people, it's hard to see clearly," Azura frowned.
"Try the street footage," Zuri suggested.
Azura bit her lollipop, tapping a few more keys. The camera angle changed, but it was still unclear due to the crowd blocking the center.
"What now?" Azura was anxious. "If I had known someone would twist things for clicks, I would've recorded it myself."
Zuri patted her shoulder. "We're not omniscient. We can't foresee everything."
"Let's ask around on the school's online forum. Maybe someone filmed it. If we find a video, it'll solve everything."
"It's worth a try."
But Zuri wasn't too hopeful. Finding the video was like searching for a needle in a haystack. Only when they hit a dead end would they resort to such measures.
Zuri's gaze fell on Li Le's file, noting his long list of addresses.
As she expected, no one had recorded a video.
Azura was disappointed.
In the afternoon, Aaron hurriedly returned, heading straight to Zuri's room with a furious expression. He was about to explode when he noticed Azura and held back.
"Azura, I need to speak with Zuri."
Azura looked worriedly at Zuri. Aaron's face had been terrifying; she was concerned for Zuri.
Zuri smiled at her. "I'm fine. You can go."
"I'll wait downstairs."
She didn't want to leave. If she did, Uncle Lin would have no qualms about his temper. If he got angry and hit Zuri, what then? She had promised her uncle she would take care of Zuri.
Once Azura left, Aaron could no longer contain his anger. "You need to go apologize to the Liu family right now."
Zuri raised an eyebrow. "What did you do?"
Aaron was momentarily stunned, not expecting her to be so perceptive.
"If you don't explain, I'm not going anywhere."
Zuri sat leisurely in the soft chair, calm and composed.
Aaron struggled to speak, but finally, he revealed the truth.
Zuri almost laughed out of anger.
Those idiots had tried to settle the matter privately but had been caught, recorded, and now there was irrefutable evidence against them.
What a bunch of fools!
Now the company's people had caused trouble, and they wanted her to apologize to make peace.
She had the upper hand initially. As long as she dealt with Li Le, the source of the issue, everything would be fine. But now, the pig-headed teammates had made things worse.
"Idiots! Is the Lin Group's PR team useless? Do they have brains full of junk? If they can't handle the job, they shouldn't take it," Zuri said coldly.
Aaron stood silently in front of her.
One standing meekly, the other scolding fiercely—it looked like Zuri was berating Aaron.
Azura, sneaking back to eavesdrop, saw this scene and was stunned.
Zuri's cold gaze turned to Aaron. "Thinking I'd apologize to calm their anger is naive. Even if I were at fault, I wouldn't go. Whoever caused the trouble should solve it themselves."
"This mess is because of you, so you need to apologize and make peace," Aaron ordered, his anger barely contained. The Lin Group's stock was dipping slightly. If it plunged, he wouldn't spare Zuri or the Liu family.
Zuri remained unmoved, her cold eyes fixed on him. "Only the weak apologize. I'll handle this, but tell the PR team to stop dragging me down."
Azura, listening outside, was amazed.
Her Zuri was so strong!
She thought Zuri would be bullied, but it seemed she had underestimated her.
"Miss Ye, why are you standing at the door?"
The two inside stopped their conversation upon hearing the voice.
The father-daughter confrontation ended in displeasure.
Late at night, a figure quietly left the villa, the sound of a motorcycle roaring as it sped towards the city and soon entered the southern district.
Half an hour later, the motorcycle stopped in front of an old apartment building. The girl in the shadows glanced at the doorplate.
This was the place.
Zuri climbed the stairs, the dim light barely illuminating the narrow staircase. She stood at a door on the third floor, took a thin wire, inserted it into the keyhole, and gently turned it. The door opened.
She slipped inside, the darkness overwhelming. After a couple of seconds, her eyes adjusted to the faint light from the street lamps through the curtains, enough to see the layout of the room.
Zuri silently approached the bed where a man snored loudly.
She pressed his neck, rendering him unconscious to ensure he wouldn't wake up easily.
Turning on the light, she saw the room was a mess. She started searching, not for his computer, but for USB drives, knowing his habits and profession.
Sure enough, she found several labeled USB drives in a metal box in a drawer. She took them all, along with the camcorder on his desk.
From the moment Zuri entered until she left, the entire operation took less than fifteen minutes.
