Chapter 11 - Chapter 10: Pewter City V

The stadium was alive, buzzing with tension as the Rotom Drone's voice echoed overhead.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for is here! The grand finale of this Gauntlet Challenge! Rin Hunter-Pendragon has torn through three gym trainers without faltering! Now, she stands face-to-face with Pewter City's own Gym Leader, Flint Harrison! Will the queen's reign continue, or will the king of stone bring her rule crashing down?"

The lights dimmed for dramatic effect before focusing on the two competitors. Flint stepped forward, arms crossed, his confident smirk unwavering as he stared down at Rin.

"You've got guts," Flint said, his voice booming across the gym. "Not many trainers attempt a Gauntlet Challenge their first time here, let alone make it to me without losing a single Pokémon."

Rin stepped onto the field, brushing imaginary dirt off her pristine skirt. Her crimson eyes gleamed under the lights as she raised her chin.

"And yet, here I stand," she replied, her voice smooth and sharp. "Unbowed. Unbroken. Dost thou tremble before thy defeat?"

Flint chuckled. "We'll see about that, Princess." He pulled out a Pokéball, fire flashing in his eyes. "This is my battlefield. Let's see if you can handle the pressure."

The crowd roared as Rin produced her Pokéball with a flourish.

"Prepare thyself for humiliation. The queen shall not kneel before gravel and dust!"

The referee raised his hand. "This is a 6-on-6 Full Battle! No substitutions are allowed until a Pokémon is fainted! The challenger cannot heal between rounds! Are both sides ready?"

Flint nodded, and Rin extended her arm with regal poise.

"Let this farce end in my favor," she declared.

The referee's arm dropped. "Begin!"

Flint tossed his first Pokéball into the air. "Tyrantrum, let's make them feel the weight of history!"

The massive dinosaur-like Pokémon roared as it materialized on the rocky field, sharp teeth gleaming under the lights.

Rin smirked, raising her Pokéball. "Lush, crush that cutie with thy beauty!"

Her crimson eyes glinted, but internally, her thoughts were a flurry of sharp observations. Oh, my Prada pumps, this beast is enormous! Is it even the same species that dainty scholars prattle on about in their games? Nay, they speak of a lumbering brute—slow of foot and brittle in resolve. Yet this titan looks ready to topple kingdoms.

Rin's gaze narrowed as she analyzed the Tyrantrum. Its massive jaws gleamed dangerously, and its claws scraped the rocky terrain like it owned the very earth beneath its feet.

Foolish data from games claim this creature is but a glass hammer! Yet here stands a monster trained beyond mortal limits—a walking fortress of muscle and might.

Her confidence didn't waver outwardly, but her thoughts were sharp and calculated. This is not the beast from the charity match. Smaller, leaner, more compact—a predator perfected. Perhaps Flint raises multiple teams to match the League's rules. Clever, but it shan't save him.

Her memory drifted back to the Pendragon family den before their grand migration to Wyrmhold. Her father hosted a gathering to watch Flint battle Roxanne, Hoenn's school teacher and rock-type gym leader.

Roxanne. Now, she was iconic. Tall, poised, and commanding with a style that screamed, Look at me, but don't you dare touch. Roxanne could've crushed anyone under her heel and looked elegant doing it. Rin huffed faintly, momentarily amused by the memory.

She regrets nothing! The world will be sexy!

The match itself? Legendary. Flint's Tyrantrum had faced Roxanne's Probopass in a spectacle designed to raise funds for Skull Graveyard expeditions. The way the two Pokémon battled was unlike anything from the games or even standard League tournaments. It was chaos, raw and unfiltered—a perfect blend of brutal attacks and graceful counters. Tyrantrum barreled through everything Probopass threw, while the steel guardian nimbly dodged and tanked blows that could've felled giants.

The destruction they caused? Amazing. Goku versus Vegeta in their first showdown had nothing on those two. And while Rin couldn't even recall who had won, she remembered thinking: That's what a real battle looks like.

She exhaled slowly, focusing back on Flint's Tyrantrum. This one was different. Smaller. Leaner. Less raw power, but it is still dangerous.

This isn't Flint's ace. But does it matter? He could use a baby Tyrantrum, which would still wreck me if I was not careful.

Rin's smirk widened slightly. Good. Let's see how this ancient king fares against my queen.

"Lush! Queen dance!" Rin's voice rang out, regal and commanding. Her crimson eyes were glowing like embers.

"Ves!" Vespiquen buzzed sharply in reply, her wings thrumming as she obeyed the order. She hovered midair, shimmering with elegance as she began to move. With each beat of her wings, golden energy rippled outward, forming intricate patterns in the air.

As her Quiver Dance took effect, the battlefield seemed to shimmer with her presence. Her speed increased with each graceful motion, and her special attacks and defense rose as her aura pulsed like a living storm.

Flint's eyes narrowed as he watched. "Building up, huh? Smart. But that won't save you. Tyrantrum—Dragon Dance Polish Up!"

Shit! Rin thought, her mind racing as she quickly commanded, "Lush, use Tailwind with Victory Dance—do not stop until thou art ready to conquer!"

"Tyrantrum!!" The dragon dinosaur roared, causing a surge of dust and sand to spiral across the battlefield. Despite its bulk, Tyrantrum moved with surprising elegance, its powerful legs and arms flexing as it performed its moves. A glowing violet aura surrounded its body as Dragon Dance boosted its speed and attack. Moments later, its muscles bulged, and scales shimmered under the effects of Bulk Up, reinforcing its already formidable defense. Finally, the dinosaur's movements turned sharper, more fluid, as Rock Polish heightened its speed further.

The battlefield itself seemed to groan under the sheer pressure radiating from Tyrantrum, its crimson aura blazing fiercely. The glow from its scales was so intense that Rin silently cursed herself for not bringing her Sunflora™ Shades.

"Dragon Dance, Bulk Up, and Rock Polish?" Rin hissed under her breath. "Since when in Arceus' name can that thing learn Bulk Up?"

The realization hit her like a freight train—of course, professional trainers optimized their Pokémon beyond the games' limitations. Sometimes, she wished the world stuck closer to those mechanics, but alas, reality was far crueler.

Her internal monologue turned sharp. Marvelous. Simply exquisite. It's like a counterfeit Gucci bag prancing about, desperate to convince the world of its worth—only far more obnoxious. Its attack now surges by five stages, its defense modestly fortified by one, and its speed ascends to dizzying heights with four. Delightful. Truly, this is fine. Everything is just fine.

Outwardly, her voice rang clear and commanding. "Lush, bad boys must learn their place! String Shot and Grody Pin Missile—show no mercy!"

With a melodious hum, Vespiquen opened her mouth, firing waves of sticky, glimmering webs at blinding speed. Simultaneously, her claws glowed with venomous energy, the tips charged with sharp purple-white projectiles. The String Shot aimed to slow Tyrantrum's movements further, while the Pin Missile surged with Tinted Lens-enhanced power to maximize damage against its rock-hard defenses.

"Tyrantrum, tank it!" Flint barked, his confidence unwavering as he watched the onslaught. "You're a dragon and rock-type—those attacks are nothing!"

Rin's smirk widened into a devilish grin, her crimson eyes alight. "Foolish man, didst thou even glance at thy opponent's profile before? Lush hath the Tinted Lens ability. Resistances are meaningless!"

Flint's face froze as realization dawned, his confident demeanor cracking. "FUCK!"

The Pin Missile barrage tore into Tyrantrum, bypassing its type advantages with ruthless efficiency. Combined with the slowing effect of the sticky webbing from String Shot, the dinosaur's movements became visibly labored as its roaring grew more frantic.

"Break free of the webs!" Flint roared, his voice echoing through the gym. His eyes widened in disbelief as he took in the sheer quantity of silk engulfing Tyrantrum. String Shot wasn't supposed to be this overwhelming. Usually, when Bug-types produced such massive amounts of webbing, the quality and tensile strength suffered—but not this time.

The webbing glistened like spun steel, holding firm against Tyrantrum's furious thrashing. It snarled, claws slashing wildly at the strands, but the sticky silk only seemed to bind tighter, pulling against its massive frame.

Rin raised her arm dramatically, her crimson eyes sparkling with command. "Lush, my radiant diamond, the stage is dull! Illuminate it with a Golden Spotlight!" (Sunny Day)

Lush's wings flared, releasing a dazzling pulse of light that swept across the battlefield. The artificial sunlight intensified, bathing the arena in a brilliant glow. Heat waves rippled through the air, casting a regal aura over the silk-ridden battlefield.

"Tyrantrum, break free of that sticky mess!" Flint barked, his voice gruff and commanding.

"Ah-ah, patience is key, darling. Lush, embellish their runway! Lay down the Jewel Carpet in three glorious layers!" (Spikes)

Lush responded with regal precision, scattering glimmering shards across Flint's side of the battlefield like a designer rolling out the red carpet.

"And now," Rin continued with a wicked smirk, "add a dash of Venom's Kiss—double layers, my dear!" (Toxic Spikes)

Lush buzzed fiercely, releasing a cascade of gleaming, poison-laden needles that embedded themselves into the ground. The battlefield became a minefield of dazzling danger, perfect for any unworthy guest.

The crowd gasped at the display, but Lush's movements began to falter, her elegant flutters growing slower. The strain of setting the elaborate traps had taken its toll.

Flint's eyes glinted as he saw his opening. "Tyrantrum, now! Break free and use Head Smash!"

With a thunderous roar, Tyrantrum shattered the remaining threads of webbing, lunging forward with its massive body. Under the blazing sunlight, its glowing skull gleamed like a battering ram as it charged at full force. The ground shook violently with every step, and the sheer weight of the dinosaur's presence sent shockwaves through the battlefield.

Rin's voice rang out, sharp and commanding. "Lush, darling, strike with Grody Nails!"

Lush buzzed into action, her claws glowing with a toxic sheen as she unleashed a barrage of venom-laden stingers. Each projectile sliced through the sunlit air like poison-tipped swords, aimed with precision at the charging Tyrantrum.

But to Rin's visible annoyance, the colossal fossil Pokémon dodged each attack with an agility that defied its massive size. It ducked, weaved, and twisted its bulky frame with the grace of a much smaller Pokémon, the poison stingers clattering harmlessly to the ground.

"Tch. What is this absurdity?" Rin hissed under her breath, her crimson eyes narrowing at the prehistoric beast. "A beast of that size hath no right to move with such grace!"

Ashlyn leaned forward in the booth, her trademark grin fading slightly. "Well, damn. If that's how things are gonna be, Rin's in for a helluva climb."

Misty crossed her arms, her expression contemplative. Mordred smirked faintly, her arms resting on the seat's edge. Both girls knew Rin was going to win, but the match would be a much-needed wake-up call for the girl. Please make no mistake, Rin's team, while brought and well-fed from millions spent on them, are not pushovers.

Mordred is quite surprised at the display from just her bug Pokémon, but it is definitely a trait of her sister's training methods more than anything else.

The crowd erupted in cheers as Tyrantrum stomped and roared, basking in the spectacle.

"And look at that, folks!" Announcer Rotom buzzed overhead, its tone filled with excitement. "Tyrantrum is putting on an incredible show of agility, dodging Vespiquen's every move with style! Can Rin Hunter-Pendragon find a way to break through this prehistoric powerhouse?"

Rin took a sharp breath, regaining her composure. Her smirk returned, more calculating than ever. "So, thou wish to dance upon the queen's stage, do thee? Very well. Lush, prepare the Regal Parry!

The Vespiquen's wings shimmered as the protective barrier of Protect surrounded her in a radiant dome. The Head Smash collided with the barrier, sending shockwaves rippling across the battlefield. Dust and debris flew into the air as Tyrantrum's attack was halted, the shield absorbing the brunt of the impact.

The crowd erupted in gasps and cheers as the two forces clashed, the ground quaking beneath them.

Flint's grin widened as he called out, "Not bad, but let's see if your queen can handle the heat! Tyrantrum, Fire Fang!"

Rin's eyes widened slightly as the fiery energy ignited around Tyrantrum's jaws. The sunlight amplified the flames to an almost blinding intensity. The dinosaur struck with ferocious speed, its fangs snapping forward with relentless power.

"Lush—!" Rin's cry was cut short as the flames engulfed the Vespiquen. Tyrantrum's Fire Fang landed clean, the sun-boosted attack overwhelming Lush's defenses. The queen crashed to the ground in a smoldering heap, her regal composure broken.

The referee raised his flag. "Vespiquen is unable to battle!"

Rin stood still, her crimson eyes narrowing as she recalled Lush to her Pokéball. The smirk returned to her lips, but now it was colder, sharper. "A commendable blow, Flint. Thy beast is mighty, but know this—it hath merely lit the embers of vengeance."

Rin exhaled slowly, rolling her shoulders before flicking out her next Pokéball with a dramatic flourish. Her aura pulsed outward, shimmering the air around her, and her crimson eyes gleamed with untamed energy.

"Very well," she declared, her voice dripping with command. "The time for mercy is past. Bella, grace them with thy beauty—and bury them with thy fury!"

The ball burst open, and with a brilliant flash, Bella, her Beautifly, emerged. Her iridescent wings scattered shimmering dust as she fluttered into the air. A delicate yet commanding presence, she hovered gracefully, her eyes locking onto Tyrantrum with an unnatural intensity.

Flint's eyes flickered with confusion as Bella took to the air, untouched by the Stealth Rocks he had set earlier. His brows knitted together as he quickly reviewed the battlefield.

Purple barbs and orange-brown spikes still lay scattered across his side, yet to his shock, there weren't any sharp, floating stones near Rin's side. He knew that she had used Defog, so why had only his hazards been removed while hers remained intact?

"What the hell?" Flint muttered under his breath. "Why is only my Stealth Rock missing?"

From the booth, Misty leaned forward, just as puzzled. "Wait… why are Rin's hazards still up?"

Ashlyn squinted at the battlefield before her eyes widened in realization. "No way… She trained her Defog to be one-sided?"

Mordred chuckled darkly, arms crossed. "Aye. 'Tis a cunning ploy indeed. She clears only her own field whilst leaving behind ruin for her foes."

Flint's jaw tightened as he processed the implications. She's been holding that trick in her pocket this whole time? That means even if he switched, his next Pokémon would get hit full force.

For a moment, a flicker of memory crossed his mind.

A match from years ago. A younger Flint, standing in the very same gym, watching as another trainer had pulled the exact same trick against him. He remembered the battlefield littered with traps—his Pokémon suffering each time they switched while his opponent danced around the field, untouched by his own Stealth Rocks. Back then, Flint was a rookie gym leader, still adjusting to the level of skill required to hold his title. That battle had been a wake-up call, forcing him to reconsider every strategy he thought was foolproof.

And now, all these years later, he was facing it again.

His eyes narrowed as he returned his focus to Rin. Had she developed this on her own, or had she studied that battle? Either way, it didn't matter. He wasn't going to let history repeat itself.

Meanwhile, Rin remained poised, her expression unreadable beneath a veil of confidence. Truthfully, she, too, had been surprised at the battlefield's state, but she refused to let it show. If Flint believed it was all part of her plan, she wasn't about to correct him.

Her lips curled into a smirk, her voice lilting with amusement. "Oh, darling, dost thou despair already? Such a shame. And here I thought thou wouldst enjoy the privilege of fighting on my stage."

Flint exhaled sharply through his nose, rolling his shoulders before snapping his fingers. "Hmph. Whatever. This doesn't change a damn thing—Tyrantrum, Rock Slide!"

The massive dinosaur roared, slamming its tail against the ground. Boulders erupted from the battlefield and hurtled toward Bella in a deadly cascade.

Rin's smirk never wavered. "Ah-ah, not so fast! Bella, the Royal Waltz!" (Quiver Dance & Evasive Maneuvers)

Bella spun midair, her wings glowing as she performed a fluid, mesmerizing dance. Her movements seemed to warp the air around her, and with a graceful twirl, she effortlessly dodged between the falling rocks, her speed and precision amplified by the lingering Tailwind.

The crowd gasped as the boulders crashed harmlessly against the ground, missing their mark completely.

"Oh, thou hast not yet seen true speed," Rin cooed, voice dripping with amusement. "Bella, let us dazzle them further. Elegance! (Quiver Dance)"

Bella's wings flared, shimmering as her power surged yet again, stacking even more speed and power onto her already terrifying presence.

Rin extended a hand dramatically, her voice ringing through the battlefield with absolute command. "Bella, let us end this farce with a flourish! Flower Sale!" (Solar Beam + Bug Buzz)The air crackled with energy as Bella's wings shimmered in the radiant sunlight.

The Sunny Day still blazing above fueled her power, allowing her to condense light into a devastating beam almost instantly. At the same time, an intense, high-pitched hum resonated from her wings, the vibrations distorting the air itself.

Tyrantrum had barely steadied itself from its missed Rock Slide when the combined force struck. The Solar Beam surged forward like a golden spear, tearing through the battlefield with blinding brilliance, while the accompanying Bug Buzz amplified the attack's sheer force, rattling the very core of the prehistoric dragon.

The sound waves resonated deep within its body, scrambling its focus and leaving no chance for a counterattack. Tyrantrum roared in agony as the dual assault overwhelmed it. The scorching light seared through its scales, and the reverberating hum of Bug Buzz sent shockwaves through its body, amplifying the pain tenfold.

Then, silence. With one final, staggering step, Tyrantrum's legs buckled, and it collapsed onto the rocky battlefield with a thunderous crash, kicking up clouds of dust as it lay still.

The referee didn't even hesitate.

"Tyrantrum is unable to battle!"The crowd exploded in cheers, the Rotom Drone buzzing wildly overhead. "Unbelievable! A devastating combination of Solar Beam and Bug Buzz, executed flawlessly under the Sunny Day boost! Bella completely obliterates Tyrantrum in a dazzling display of strategy and power!"

Rin placed a hand on her hip, tilting her head with a satisfied smirk. "Ah, a pity. 'Twas a most darling attempt, but alas, not even a king of the past may withstand the queen's radiance."

Flint exhaled sharply, rolling his shoulders as he recalled his fallen Pokémon. His fingers clenched around the next Pokéball as he eyed Rin with renewed intensity.

"Alright, princess," he muttered. "You got me with that one. But let's see if you can keep up."With a flick of his wrist, he tossed out his next choice.

A burst of energy erupted onto the battlefield, revealing the slithering, ancient form of Cradily. The fossil Pokémon let out a low, eerie rumble, its tendrils swaying ominously as it dug its roots into the battlefield. The moment its tendrils touched the ground, Cradily twitched as the layers of Toxic Spikes and Spikes dug into its body.

A sickly purple hue pulsed across its form, confirming the Badly Poisoned status taking effect.

Rin smirked, tilting her head slightly. "Ah, how kind of thee, Flint, to walk so graciously into mine elegant trap. Dost thou enjoy the embrace of poison and stone? Or shall I grant thee further affliction?"

Flint exhaled sharply, his brow furrowing as he took in the battlefield. "Damn traps…" he muttered before raising his voice. "Cradily, Recover! Shake it off!" A soft glow surrounded Cradily as it absorbed nutrients from the air, the damage from its rough entry already fading.

Rin clicked her tongue. "Ah-ah, darling, we cannot have that. Bella, Pollen Parade!" (Pollen Puff) Bella spun midair, her wings glittering as she flung a glowing orb of golden pollen straight at Cradily. The moment it made contact, the orb erupted into a fine dust cloud, sticking to the fossil Pokémon's body and igniting in a volatile burst.

Cradily let out a shriek, shaking its body violently as the attack dug into its hide. Flint gritted his teeth. "Fine. Leech Seed!" Cradily's tendrils lashed forward, releasing a volley of small, writhing seeds toward Bella."Flawless Pirouette!" (Double Team) Bella blurred as multiple copies of herself split across the field, the seeds flying past harmlessly as the illusions scattered. The real Bella hovered higher, untouched. The Rotom Drone buzzed overhead.

"Rin is making sure her Beautifly remains untouched! But how long can she dance around Cradily's defenses?"Flint adjusted his stance, locking eyes with Rin. "Giga Drain! Rip through those illusions!" Cradily's tendrils pulsed with green energy, whipping outward in a wide arc.

The attack tore through the clones, dispersing them instantly before latching onto the real Bella, green tendrils wrapping around her. Bella let out a sharp cry as her energy was drained away, the effects of Giga Drain siphoning her health back into Cradily.

Rin scowled. "Enough of thy wretched grasp! Gossamer Blade!" (Air Slash)Bella's wings flared, slicing the air as a razor-sharp wind blade formed and shot toward Cradily.

The strike hit true, cutting into its body and forcing it to release Bella as it stumbled back.

Flint's expression remained firm. "Ancient Power!"The rocks beneath Cradily trembled before multiple glowing boulders launched toward Bella in a destructive arc.

Rin's voice rang out sharply. "Winds of Royalty!" (Tailwind)Bella's wings shimmered as a powerful gust surged from behind her, sending her soaring higher and out of the attack's path just in time. Rin's smirk widened. "Such a pity. Try again, dear knight—if thou canst keep up.

"Flint's patience was wearing thin. "Sludge Bomb!" Cradily lurched forward, spewing a vile glob of poison toward Bella.

"Gilded Finale!" (Moonblast)Bella's wings glowed with celestial energy, a bright orb forming between them before she launched it straight into the incoming attack.

The two projectiles met mid-air, but the sheer force of Moonblast overpowered the poison, pushing through and crashing into Cradily with a radiant explosion.

Cradily shrieked, its body trembling as it teetered dangerously. The Badly Poisoned status had worsened, eating away at its remaining stamina. Flint growled. "Hold steady! Use Recover!"

Rin's eyes gleamed. "Oh no, darling. There shall be no encore for thee. Bella, Royal Execution!" (Bug Buzz)Bella's entire body vibrated as she let out an ear-splitting, resonant sound wave.

The energy pulsed outward, striking Cradily in a final, relentless assault. The fossil Pokémon let out a strangled cry before collapsing onto the battlefield, motionless. The referee raised a hand. "Cradily is unable to battle! The challenger, Rin, is victorious!"

The stadium erupted into cheers as the Rotom Drone spun wildly overhead. "And just like that, Rin Hunter-Pendragon claims another victim! Flint is down to four, and the queen's court remains untouched!"

Flint let out a slow breath, recalling Cradily with a flick of his wrist. "Tch. This girl…" He reached for his next Pokéball, gripping it tightly.

Rin delicately flicked an imaginary speck of dust from her pristine sleeve. "Come, dear leader. Let us not tarry. Surely thou hast more stones to throw?"

Flint's jaw tightened. "Alright then. No more playing around." He tossed his next Pokéball, and the instant it cracked open, Aggron emerged onto the battlefield, letting out a deep, earth-shaking roar.

The moment its heavy feet touched the ground, Spikes dug into its armor, crackling with damage. Toxic Spikes had already dissolved on contact with the Steel-type, removing the poison hazard from the field, but the Spikes still did some damage for a Normal-type move.

Flint exhaled sharply through his nose. "Tch. That damn setup…"Flint exhaled sharply, regaining his composure. "Alright, let's stop messing around. Thunder Wave!" Electricity crackled around Aggron as it lifted one massive arm, launching a wave of paralyzing energy toward Bella.

Rin's eyes flared. "Royal Veil!" (Protect) A shimmering barrier of golden energy flared around Bella, the Thunder Wave bouncing off harmlessly."Tsk."

Flint gritted his teeth. "Stone Edge!"Aggron roared, summoning jagged stone spikes from the ground and launching them toward Bella with brutal force.

"Gossamer Blade!" (Air Slash) Rin commanded. Bella's wings gleamed as razor-sharp wind blades shot forth, colliding with the incoming stone shards. Some of the rocks shattered midair, but others still broke through, pelting Bella and sending her spiraling back. She steadied herself midair, but it was clear she had taken significant damage.

Rin's lips curled. "Fine then. If brute force is thy only means of conversation—Bella, Royal Execution!" (Bug Buzz)Bella let out a piercing, high-frequency cry, waves of vibrating energy pulsing across the battlefield and slamming into Aggron. The steel titan staggered, its thick armor absorbing some of the force, but the sheer intensity of the attack forced it back.

Flint narrowed his eyes. "Iron Head!"Aggron steadied itself, lowering its head as it gleamed with metallic energy before charging forward at full force.

Rin's smirk didn't falter. "Gilded Finale!" (Moonblast)Bella's wings flared with celestial power, gathering a radiant orb of energy and launching it just as Aggron crashed forward. The Moonblast struck Aggron head-on just as Iron Head made impact with Bella—a split-second of silence.

Then—BOOM!

The entire battlefield shook as both Pokémon were thrown backward. Bella crashed into the rocky terrain, her wings twitching before she went still. Aggron, despite its sheer bulk, stumbled several feet, armor cracked from the blast. It let out a deep, guttural groan before its legs gave out, collapsing onto its side with a loud thud.

A beat. The referee raised both arms. "Both Pokémon are unable to battle! A double knockout!"The crowd erupted, the stadium buzzing with energy as the Rotom Drone spiraled wildly overhead. "Unbelievable! Bella and Aggron go down together in a spectacular clash! Flint is down to three, while Rin's regal court begins to thin! This battle is heating up!"

Rin exhaled, closing her eyes briefly before recalling Bella with a slow, deliberate flick of her wrist. "Thou hath served well, my jewel," she murmured.

Flint recalled Aggron with a sharp nod. "You too, buddy. Damn good work."Both trainers locked eyes across the battlefield. Flint tightened his grip on his next Pokéball, mind racing.

'She's pushing me back, but I won't go down that easy.'

Across the battlefield, Rin's eyes gleamed with anticipation. Her crimson aura pulsed as she raised her next Pokéball high. "The tide turns, and so shall the battle. Tiffany, rise anew!"

With a flash of light, Vaporeon materialized onto the battlefield, her sleek, aquatic body shimmering under the stadium lights. The moment her paws hit the ground, moisture condensed in the air, drawn toward her like a gravitational pull.

Flint's eyes darkened. He knew what was coming."Tyrant Queen's Command—Monsoon Waltz!" (Rain Dance) Dark clouds exploded into existence overhead, thick and heavy with moisture. A moment of eerie silence filled the battlefield before the first drop of rain splashed onto the stone floor.

Then, the flood came. The battlefield had transformed into a storm-ravaged arena, water swirling around the Pokémon's legs as heavy rain continued to pour. The thick mist rising from the heated stones mixed with the torrential downpour, creating an eerie atmosphere that crackled with raw power.

Flint's jaw clenched as he took an unconscious step back. 'That wasn't just Rain Dance. That was something elsesomething stronger.'

Weather moves were always taxing, requiring precise elemental control to maintain. Even experienced trainers often struggled to keep a storm going at full strength without their Pokémon exhausting themselves. But this? This was something more. The sheer weight of the storm pressing down on the battlefield reminded Flint of the first time he faced Lorelei.

Back then, he had learned the true difference between a mere weather move and a weather phenomenon.

The sexy redhead's Rain Dance, Hail, and Snowscape didn't just last for minutes—they lasted for hours. Worse than natural storms, they twisted the battlefield into an environment where only she had control. Lorelei's Ice-types didn't just thrive in her weather—they became unstoppable. And now, standing in the midst of Rin's downpour, Flint recognized that same force.

This isn't a simple battlefield effect. This is a Level Four Weather Field. Advanced weather manipulation wasn't just about summoning rain or sun. It came in stages, from weak, fleeting changes to full-blown battlefield dominance. Anything past Level Four wasn't just a boost—it overrode natural conditions entirely. Raising defense, regen, etc... And she's doing it instinctively…

The floodwater swirling around Vaporeon's paws wasn't just for show. It was controlled, directed, moving as though it had a will of its own. The storm wasn't just falling—it was alive.

Flint exhaled sharply, his grip tightening around Kabutops' Pokéball.

Is this really a rookie battle at this point?! His jaw clenched as he tossed the ball into the air.

"Kabutops, to the front! Let's see if you can swim in this mess!" With a sharp cry, Kabutops landed gracefully in the water, its scythe-like arms glistening under the pounding rain. Unlike most, it wasn't struggling—this was its domain, too.

Rin smirked, twirling her wrist with dramatic flair. "Ah, a warrior of the tides? How quaint. But darling, thou art naught but a pawn in the sea I command. "She snapped her fingers. "Tiffany, Aqua Veil!" (Aqua Ring) Water gathered around Vaporeon, spiraling upward in delicate ribbons before settling into a glowing aura. The ring of water shimmered against her form, continuously restoring her strength as the storm raged around them.

Flint clicked his tongue. 'She's making sure Tiffany can outlast anything I throw at her.' He had no choice but to play aggressively.

"Kabutops, Swords Dance! Get in there and break that defense!"The fossil Pokémon slashed its scythes through the air, power surging through its body, its blades glinting dangerously as its attack doubled in strength.

But Rin's smirk widened. "Thy little blades shan't touch my goddess of the sea," she purred.

"Tiffany, darling, let's soften his edge. Liquid Armor!" (Acid Armor)Vaporeon's body shimmered for a moment before liquefying slightly, her form shifting like water itself. Her defenses skyrocketed, making any physical assault far less effective. " Tiffany, dear, let us banish this storm-born creature. Fate's Reckoning!" (Stored Power) The air pulsed as Vaporeon's eyes glowed, rain swirling around her as she gathered the stored energy from all the buffs she had been stacking.

Flint's stomach dropped.

'Shit—she's been building up for this moment.' The Stored Power erupted outward in a massive, radiant blast, cutting through the storm like a divine decree.

The sheer force of the attack collided with Kabutops, slamming into its chest and sending it hurtling backward through the flooded battlefield. Flint exhaled sharply. She's not using any Water-type attacks…

That was either a mistake or—His instincts screamed. She knew something."Kabutops, use the rain to your advantage. Liquidation!"The fossil Pokémon shot forward, scythes coated in a rushing veil of water, each swing carving through the rain with force enough to cleave stone. Rin's hand flicked outward, her voice smooth and commanding. "Trailblaze, weave through the tempest.

"Tiffany moved like flowing silk, the Grass-infused energy wrapping around her body as she dashed through the water, weaving past Kabutops' scything blows. With every movement, her speed climbed further for every block, the soaked battlefield only enhancing her fluid agility.

Flint clenched his jaw.

She's using a Speed-boosting move over and over. She's making it impossible for me to land a hit.

"Kabutops, Knock Off! Target her footing!"Kabutops lunged low, its blades glowing dark as it slashed at the surface of the water instead of Tiffany herself. The impact sent a surge of displaced water outward, creating turbulence in the flooded battlefield."Iron Tail."

Tiffany reacted instantly, her tail gleaming like tempered steel as she spun mid-motion, slamming it down with brutal precision.

The moment Kabutops' scythes disrupted the water's surface, her Iron Tail crashed against the displaced waves, redirecting the force back at her opponent. Rin's voice rang out like a symphony's final note.

"Now, Stored Power—unleash thy radiance!"With a flick of her tail, Tiffany released the attack. The Stored Power tore through the drenched battlefield like a mental tempest, crashing into Kabutops with devastating force. The fossil Pokémon let out a garbled cry as it was hurled backward, its body skidding through the water until it finally collided with one of the jagged rocks protruding from the arena.

Silence.

Then—Kabutops slumped forward, motionless. The referee raised his flag. "Kabutops is unable to battle! Vaporeon is victorious!"

Flint exhaled sharply, recalling Kabutops without a word. He stared at the battlefield, the rain still pounding around them, the water still pooled at his feet.

Then, his fingers tightened around his next Pokéball.

'Alright, Rin. If you want to play at this level, then let's see if you can handle this.' He threw his next Pokéball high, and with a thunderous crash, Aerodactyl took the skies.
