Shards of light flooded into a small dormitory, spreading throughout the room in different directions, scattered by the blinds overhanging the closed window; basking the wooden floor in a bright canary tone.
KNOCK!
The boy that laid atop a white matress shot up at an inhumane speed. His green hair swept back and forth, hitting his forehead as he abruptly stopped in motion. His eyes darted across the room, in search of the noise in which sounded as if something had smashed his wall in.
KNOCK! KNOCK!
The young man glanced at the door in which was producing this ear blastingly loud sound. Someone was knocking. Extremely loud.
'What the hell?'
The young man stood up beside his mattress, walking carefully towards the wooden door. His room had no furniture apart from the blinds that shielded the window's sight, which was something he had put in himself.
The young man stood beside the door for a moment, beginning to open it, yelling out;
"Stop banging on the door, I'm up, I'm up. What the hell do you want-"
As the door creaked open, the young man was met with the face of a scruff young man with brown hair, and deep brown eyes. He donned simple black attire, and looked easy going, but looking further, it seemed as if it went deeper. As if he was putting on a facade. This feeling left the boy's hair stand on the back of his neck. A chill ran down his spine, before glancing at the young man next to him.
The individual wore dirty blond hair, and a white suit that functioned as the school's uniform. The purple flowers were ever present.
The green haired boy palmed his forehead for a brief moment.
"Tre, what the hell man. Were you serious about last night? I can't just join the science club. Seriously. Surely you know the consequences if that were to happen. I'm not just any student. I'm one of the best ki users. And.. Valnar, why are you with him? I heard about the scuffle you two had from the nurse I was with. It was massive. Have you two made up or something?"
Valnar's mouth creeked upwards, gleefully using this opportunity to answer in Tre's stead.
"Well, Guac, if you really must know, I'm his student. And, I.. uh.. I had no idea about why he's getting you to join the science club. You got this one, Tre."
'His student? That's surprising. I didn't think someone of his status would put away his pride and learn under someone of the same age. Not too surprising though. Tre is.. different.'
A silence lingered for a moment, before being interrupted by Tre.
"Typhlos, I want you in the science club. I'm aware of what will happen when you join. In fact, I want it to happen."
Tre didn't want to disclose any information to these two yet. He didn't trust anyone within this place. Not even Eirini. He only told her what he wanted her to know. Her actions confirmed that she was an outcast, at the very least. He had no way of confirming any other information he was told. Even if he were to confirm the information, he still wouldn't trust them. Never again.
Guac rested his shoulder on the door frame, leaning sideways against it. He thought about what he had been told.
'He's counting on it, huh? He's strange. Such a rash decision, yet I don't feel any hesitation behind his words. Rather, it felt absolute. As if he would do whatever it took to achieve his goals.'
Guac felt his heart beat a little faster. His hands shook slightly thinking about Tre's words.
'It seems insane, but, maybe he has a reason.'
"Why do you want me to join the science club?"
Guac pursed his lips, an electrifying feeling moving throughout his body. He couldn't contain his composure, thinking about what Tre was about to say next.
Guac remembered asking his noble parents all the time for things he wanted, only to discard them mere moments later. That feeling of having something so unattainable, yet clawing your way to it. Shedding your skin and using your blood as friction to climb up in life.. he didn't know that feeling. His peers always praised his efficiency in using ki. He was a master at swordplay. He never even needed to try.
Until he met a young man who had shattered that entire view. He didn't even need to use ki to utterly defeat him. He was incapable of it. His mind spun trying to comprehend it for a bit, until he finally came to a conclusion. When you're completely content in life, you feel no need to go further. Why become stronger when you're already the strongest?
He was blind to the world, unable to see it for how it is. He wasn't the strongest. He wasn't on the path to becoming the strongest. This feeling of weakness was new, yet..
It was exhilarating.
Tre let out a small sigh, before explaining.
"I want to do something. I need power to do that though. Join me. Join into the science club, and I will make you stronger. I will teach you. How about that?"
No matter how much Tre wanted to reject to use of ki, he knew he had his limits. He needed someone skilled enough talent to power a machination through ki. He needed someone with presence. Someone who could provide the club with funding. This, ultimately, was his goal.
Tre was ready to go on, but he was cut short.
"I'll join you. I'll join the science club, if you want. I want to become stronger. I want to become the strongest. No matter what it takes. If you can grant me that wish, I will follow you, Tre."
A glint appeared in Tre's eye.
"Is that so? Alright, then. Follow me. Someone is waiting for us there."
Tre begun walking off, not waiting for Guac to lock his door, before scurrying behind Valnar.
'Actually, I haven't told Eirini about this. Hopefully she doesn't mind..'
All three eventually exited the dormitory building. Passing by young men and women heading to do errands early in the morning, they headed, towards the science club, where the first piece of Tre's goal finally fell into place.
