Sometimes I feel as if the world around me lacks color or any sense of vibrance. Every day I have the same mediocre conversation with the same cliche characters. I'm just as cliche as the people I criticize with no real option after high school other than to join the military just to make ends meet. I don't know what I want to do in life. It's kind of hard to find my place in this world. I'm honestly average in every sense of the word. I spend all my time reading books about gods, angels, and demons. Everything about these books and stories feels at home and gives me a sense of peace. I wonder what I would've done in some of the protagonist's shoes.

The creature had a smokey black appearance with a hood over its head and it smiled at me revealing razor-sharp teeth. At that moment it disappeared. I turned around as it roared and thrust its claw towards my gut as I screamed shield something help Halo said deploying holy shield NightStalker received the attack where I would have been hit. Halo began to speak to the master Holy shield reflected damage to the attacker. Nightstalker is an intelligent phantom with the ability to adjust its attack patterns to its prey. I was beginning to feel overwhelmed even tho I had barely done anything every movement felt like a marathon. Warning teleportation has been detected from above. I yelled holy shield as the Nightstalker had me in its preferred position and screamed in my face drenching me with its foul saliva. It said I am going to enjoy every second of this in the most shaky booming voice I had ever heard. Until a boom like an atomic bomb sounded and the Nightstalker was penned to a building as A man in his mid-40s said are you ok he kinda looked like an ancient Roman soldier with blond hair and blue eyes? I paled in comparison to this man who must have been at least 6'2 standing as I am now I must be only 5'8. Another man descended and said there is nowhere that phantom can hide from me, demon art ashura eyes. I've located the Phantom permission to unleash smite. Granted, said the blond-haired man. The man who requested permission summoned a sword and said Mammon smite out our enemy's Demon arts. The deed is done. I've gained a nifty little teleport ability for the day. The man with blond hair said I am Headmaster Roland at Alterim Academy home to angels and demons. You should come with us as you are now. You will die to most phantoms. The academy is where people who have made a pact can train. Have you made a pact with an angel or demon? Warning the possibility of us being killed on the spot is high if my identity is revealed. I looked at him as I said an Angel. He smiled as he looked over and said Xavier we seem to be up by a little this year seems to be our year. Xavier just chuckled, almost annoyed saying it seemed to be so.
I thought this whole situation was crazy. Not leaving me any time to think the headmaster said have you made up your mind yet boy either way we must be going if you are coming then come if not then I leave you to your own devices. I walked forward as the portal was about to close and was completely shocked by my vast new world. Angels and Demons move in peculiar ways and no one needs to know the circumstances of your pact unless it will bring harm to anyone in our school. I was honestly in shock the place looks beautiful beyond all belief. I was taken to be checked in by the Headmaster as they asked a variety of questions.
